Park Bo Gum Announced as One of the Presenters at 39th Golden Disc Awards

The highly anticipated 39th Golden Disc Awards (GDA) is gearing up for an unforgettable event with an exciting lineup of presenters and performers. The award ceremony will take place at Fukuoka’s PayPay Dome in Japan, spanning two nights, January 4 and 5, 2025. Not surprisingly, the lineup is filled with stars including Park Bo Gum, Park Eun Bin, and Lee Dae Ho!

The 39th Golden Disc Awards Unveils First Lineup of Presenters and Performers

On December 6, organizers revealed that Park Eun Bin, Park Bo Gum, and former baseball star Lee Dae Ho will serve as presenters. Park Eun Bin, known for her critically acclaimed acting roles, will present the Digital Song of the Year Daesang (Grand Prize) on January 4. Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum, a beloved actor and household name, will present the Album of the Year Daesang on January 5. Lee Dae Ho will make a special appearance as a presenter, adding an extra spark to the event.

Earlier last week, the first lineup of performers was also announced, promising spectacular performances from some of the biggest names in K-pop. January 4 will feature NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, BIBI, Crush, KISS OF LIFE, TWS, the highly anticipated “PROJECT 7” debut group, and (G)I-DLE. The following night, January 5, will see electrifying stages by NCT WISH, ZEROBASEONE, and TXT.

The 39th Golden Disc Awards will also be hosted by the dynamic trio of Sung Si Kyung, Cha Eun Woo, and Mun Ka Young, ensuring a polished and engaging event. Fans can also expect two nights of dazzling performances, heartfelt speeches, and memorable moments as the GDA continues to honor excellence in music and entertainment. Cha Eun Woo Considering New Drama with Park Eun-Bin

An ASTRO member could work with Park Eun-bin soon! Cha Eun Woo has been offered a role in the upcoming drama “The Wonder Fools” (previously known as “The B Team”)!

Cha Eun Woo in Talks for New Park Eun-bin Drama

On July 26, Cha Eun Woo’s agency Fantagio revealed that the actor-singer has received a casting offer and is currently in talks to appear in the drama, with a favorable outlook on the negotiations.

“The Wonder Fools” (working title) is an intriguing drama that will explore the lives of “flawed” superheroes who struggle with the uncontrollable nature of their superpowers. The narrative also delves into the complexities and challenges these characters face as they navigate a world where their abilities are as unpredictable as they are powerful. This unique twist on the superhero genre promises a blend of humor, drama, and action, providing a fresh perspective on what it means to be a hero.

The drama will be directed by Yoo In Shik, renowned for his work on the hit series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.” Yoo In Shik’s direction is expected to bring a nuanced and engaging touch to “The Wonder Fools,” leveraging his expertise in creating compelling and character-driven stories. The script will be crafted by Heo Da Joong, the talented writer behind the highly successful film “Extreme Job,” which is known for its sharp wit and dynamic storytelling.

Park Eun Bin on Why She Took ‘Castaway Diva’ Role

Park Eun Bin has played several memorable characters throughout her career and her next project is expected to be just as outstanding. But what drew the “Do You Like Brahms?” star to her new role in “Castaway Diva”? Park shared that she felt that she needed to do the series while working on a challenging drama!

Park Eun Bin Opens Up About Taking on ‘Castaway Diva’ Role

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar Korea, Park Eun Bin discussed how she chose “Castaway Diva” while working on a drama. The star of “The King’s Affection” admitted that she was immediately drawn after reading the screenplay.

“During the filming of ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo‘, I spent much time in solitude reflecting on my inner self. This was undoubtedly a period of relative loneliness for me,” she said. “However, upon reading the script for ‘Castaway Diva’, I felt a surge of courage.”

Park continued that she immediately felt a connection to the character Seo Mok Ha, who ends up being stranded on an inhabited island for 15 years.

“Among numerous other intriguing proposals I received, the primary reason I was drawn to Mok Ha’s character was her incredible strength, which I highly desired to emulate at that point in time,” she said.

In “Castaway Diva”, Seo Mok-ha (played by Park Eun-bin) is an aspiring young woman with dreams of becoming a diva. Her journey begins when she emerges victorious in a UCC competition. However, a twist of fate leads to a harrowing mishap, leaving her stranded on an uninhabited island. Mok-ha’s life takes an unexpected turn as she remains isolated on the island for 15 years. After this lengthy period of solitude, she eventually makes her way back to the bustling world she left behind, forever changed by her extraordinary experience.

The series will also star Kim Hyo-jin, Chae Jong-hyeop, Cha Hak-yeon, and Kim Joo-hun. “Castaway Diva” is scheduled to premiere on October 28, 2023.

Park Eun Bin Returns as an Aspiring Singer in ‘Castaway Diva’

From her remarkable role as a lawyer with autism, Park Eun Bin is set to make her TV return. But as an aspiring singer this time.  

On Thursday, September 28, Netflix Korea released the official trailer for its upcoming series Castaway Diva starring the South Korean actress. 

In the drama, Eun Bin plays the role of Seo Mok-ha, an aspiring singer who gets drifted out onto a deserted island while on her way to audition in Seoul. The 48-second trailer showed a glimpse of Mok-ha’s daily life in the island where she got stranded for 15 years.

Still holding on to her dream to become a singer, she narrated: “I saw myself in the distant future. At this moment, my futile 15 years have become meaningful”.

Prior to the teaser, TVN already released posters and stills of Mok-ha. In one of the posters, Mok-ha looked sparkling as the text read: “A story that will save your dream from drifting away”.

The upcoming romantic-comedy drama will be a collaborative work of Director Oh Choong Hwan and writer Park Hye Run. Previously, the duo worked together in the 2017 drama While You Were Sleeping and Start Up in 2020.

Eun Bin will be joined by actors Chae Jong Hyeop, Kim Hyo Jin, Kim Joo Heon, and VIXX member Cha Hak Yeon, who’s also known by his stage name N.

Park Eun Bin’s comeback drama

Interestingly, Castaway Diva will be Park Eun Bin’s comeback drama after the critically-acclaimed Netflix series Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The global hit series was nominated in the Drama Series category of the 2023 International Emmy Awards. 

Earlier this year, the actress also bagged the Baeksang Grand Prize for her portrayal of Atty. Woo Young Woo

With the success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the production company behind the drama confirmed that they have signed a contract with writer Moon Ji Won to work on a second season. However, there are no confirmations yet on Park Eun Bin’s return in the drama.

For the meantime, fans will be able to see Eun-Bin in a new light as Mok-ha. Castaway Diva is set to premiere on October 28.
