PENTAGON Yeo One Begins Mandatory Military Service with Instagram Post

It’s official: Yeo One has enlisted for his mandatory military service, and the PENTAGON member shared new photos showing his military haircut.

On May 28, Yeo One, also known as Yeo Chang-gu, shared photos on Instagram showcasing his new military-ready buzz cut. Alongside these images, he posted a heartfelt message to his fans, expressing his gratitude and hopes for the future.

For 1 year and 6 months, I will [serve] confidently so that I don’t feel ashamed, and I will return to UNIVERSE as a cooler man,” he wrote. “So don’t worry, and please always be healthy and happy and full of joy. Let’s meet again with smiling faces at the end of next year.”

I will keep UNIVERSE updated as much as I am able [while serving]! I am always grateful to you, and I love you. I’ll be back,” he concluded.

Yeo One debuted as a vocalist in the South Korean boy group PENTAGON in October 2016. Over the years, he has become known not only for his musical talents but also for his acting skills. He has starred in various television and web dramas such as “Spark,” “Welcome to the Witch Shop,” “Nickname Pine Leaf,” and “Pumpkin Time,” showcasing his versatility as an entertainer.

A Step Towards Independence

In a significant career move, it was announced on October 9, 2023, that Yeo, along with fellow PENTAGON members Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, had left Cube Entertainment. PENTAGON’s Kino Establishes Own One-Man Agency

Former PENTAGON member Kino is ready to start a new chapter in his career as he establishes his own one-man agency Naked.

On Friday, December 15, the idol shared the news on his social media platforms and opened up official accounts for his new agency. Following the bold name of his label, Kino aims to get one step closer to the public with his original and unadorned appearance.

“I have high expectations for the future I will face with Naked”, the singer said in his first greeting after the announcement. Moreover, Kino also promised to show a new side of him people have not seen before and asked for the fans’ interest and support.

Alongside the announcement, the label has unveiled Kino’s first concept photos to mark a new development in his career. In the series of photos, the artist appears to be enjoying a break on the beach with his friends.  “No one will ever be as entertained by us as us,” the caption read. 

Interestingly, this will be Kino’s return in the entertainment industry after his departure in his previous agency, Cube Entertainment, in October. Originally a member of the boy group PENTAGON, he spent seven years with Cube Entertainment since 2016.

Although Kino and four other members no longer signed a contract with Cube, the PENTAGON members have reassured the fans that the group will not disband.

Look forward to soloist Kino in the future

Finally set to start anew with his own label, Kino announced that he will soon hold a concert in January 2024 titled Born Naked. Said concert will be held at the Musina Garage in Seoul.

 

 

Prior to that, the singer will be meeting his fans in his solo performance titled Kino’s Housewarming Party. Said activity will be held at the Zepp Haneda music venue in Japan this December 22.

PENTAGON’s Hui to Make Solo Debut in January 2024

Gear up, Universe! Hui of K-pop boy group PENTAGON is finally making his solo debut after eight long years!

On Monday, December 11, PENTAGON’s agency Cube Entertainment confirmed that the idol is preparing for his first solo album. “We are planning to release it in January of 2024, the agency said. 

As of writing, other details such as the name and final release date have yet to be announced. 

Since debuting in 2016 as a member of PENTAGON, Hui led the group throughout their performances.  Among many hit tracks that the group released throughout their career include Shine”, “SHA LA LA”, andNaughty Boy,” 

Aside from being PENTAGON’s leader, Hui is also known as a talented producer who participates in creating songs for his own group. In addition, Hui also produced songs for other groups including WANNA ONe’s “Energetic” for the first season of Produce 101, and “Never” for the show’s second season.

Fans’ excitement for soloist Hui

With the official confirmation of his solo debut, PENTAGON’s fanbase, Universe, immediately showered Hui with congratulatory messages and positive responses.

“Finally, HUI SOLO DEBUT NEXT YEAR. I’m super excited,” one fan wrote. Meanwhile, another stated: “[I] can’t believe my Hui is getting his solo debut. [It’s been] a long time coming for sure but I’m proud and I can’t wait!” Other fans also expressed their well-wishes for the idol as he embarks on a new journey. 

Moreover, fans are even more anticipative of Hui’s solo endeavor after his appearance in the 2023 MNET survival program Boys Planet. For those who don’t know, he shocked the K-pop community when he competed in the show despite his eight-long year experience as an idol.

Despite being eliminated after placing the No. 13 spot in the final ranking, Hui earned great love and respect from netizens for bravely taking on the challenge.

Furthermore, the announcement of Hui’s solo debut came weeks after several members of PENTAGON left CUBE Entertainment. In October, members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok decided not to renew their contract with the agency. In November, Hongseok also left the label.  

With this, only four members of the group remain in the agency: Hui, Jinho, Hongseok and Shinwon.

PENTAGON’s Shinwon To Enlist for Military Duty This December

Shinwon is officially taking a break from the entertainment industry to focus on his duty to his country. Go Shin Won has been confirmed to enlist for military duty later this December. This makes him the fourth member of PENTAGON to enlist for mandatory military service.

CUBE Entertainment officially announced that PENTAGON’s Shinwon is set to commence his mandatory military service on the 21st, as confirmed in a press release. The agency emphasized that there will be no official events on the day of his enlistment, respecting the solemnity of the occasion.

The news comes after Pentagon’s 12th mini-album showcase ‘IN:VITE U’ where Shinwon, alongside his fellow members, engaged in a media showcase. The showcase served as a platform for the group to connect with fans and promote their latest musical endeavor.

Acknowledging the significance of Shinwon’s enlistment, CUBE Entertainment urged fans to refrain from physically visiting his place of duty. Instead, they encouraged supporters to convey their well-wishes and encouragement virtually, fostering a positive atmosphere for Shinwon as he embarks on this new chapter.

CUBE Entertainment’s Official Statement Regarding Shinwon’s Military Enlistment

“Shinwon will begin fulfilling his military duties starting from December 21st, and we would like to inform you that there will be no official events on the day he starts his service. Furthermore, we ask that you refrain from visiting Shinwon’s place of duty and instead encourage him in your hearts so that he can smoothly complete his alternative service,” the statement read.

We ask for your support and love until Shinwon safely completes his service and returns in good health, and our agency will also spare no support until Shinwon completes his military duty,” it concludes.

Shinwon is the latest PENTAGON member to fulfill his military service duties, following Jinho, Hui, and Hongseok. As he joins the ranks of K-pop idols who temporarily step away to fulfill their national duty, fans express their heartfelt support, awaiting his return with eagerness. The departure of PENTAGON members for military service is not only a personal milestone for each artist but also signifies the unity and camaraderie within the group, reinforcing the commitment of its members to both their individual responsibilities and the collective journey of PENTAGON.

PENTAGON’s Hongseok Signs With ANDMARQ

Hongseok from K-pop boy PENTAGON has officially joined a new agency.  On Tuesday, November 21, ANDMARQ confirmed the exclusive signing of Hongseok. 

According to Soompi, ANDMARQ released a statement to officially welcome their new artist, expressing their excitement to embark on this new journey with him. “We will actively support him across various areas, including music, acting, and variety shows, allowing him to showcase his full range of capabilities,” the agency said. 

On social media, fans of the artist were quick to express their delight in this significant milestone in his career. Moreover, they’re also looking forward to his upcoming activities under his new agency, who is renowned for nurturing all-encompassing talents across diverse fields. 

To note, ANDMARQ boasts a roster of talented actors, including Jeon Jong Seo, Park Jin Joo, and Baek Jin Hee. Other artists under the said agency include Jin Seo Yeon, Ha Do Kwon, T-ara’s Hyomin, and more.

A fresh start for Hongseok 

Having debuted with PENTAGON in 2016, Hongseok has gained immense popularity both domestically and internationally, owing to his outstanding vocal abilities and versatile charm. Additionally, his strong connection with fans through social media platforms has further solidified his status.

Beyond his musical career, Hongseok has demonstrated a different facet of his talent on various entertainment programs and delivered noteworthy acting performances. Among his notable projects include The Love That’s Left, Phoenix 2020, Move to Heaven, Blue Birthday, and Shadow Beauty. 

In November 2023, the idol-actor departed from Cube Entertainment after seven years. At the time, the agency said that while Hongseok decided to not renew his contract, they’re still grateful for his passion and talent displayed during his stay with PENTAGON. Moreover, the label also expressed their optimism for the idol’s future activities. 

With Hongseok leaving Cube Entertainment, he became the sixth member of PENTAGON to leave the agency in just two months. In October 2023,  Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok decided to not renew their exclusive contracts with the company. 

With these developments, only Hui, Jinho, and Shinwon remain with the agency.  Currently, CUBE Entertainment has yet to address rumors about the group’s potential hiatus or disbandment.

PENTAGON’s Hongseok Leaves CUBE Entertainment

CUBE Entertainment has lost another PENTAGON member. Hongseok has just been confirmed to depart from the agency. This makes Yang Hong-seok the sixth member of the idol group to leave the company.

Hongseok Becomes 6th PENTAGON Member To Officially Leave CUBE Entertainment

On November 6, CUBE Entertainment issued a statement confirming Hongseok’s departure from the agency.

“We are here to inform you that PENTAGON member Hongseok and Cube Entertainment’s exclusive contract has been terminated,” the statement read. “We shared many conversations with Hongseok regarding his activities, and as a result, we made the decision to end our contract.”

“We are grateful for Hong Seok’s hard work, who debuted as a member of PENTAGON back in 2016, and for unsparingly showing his passion and talent as a member of CUBE Entertainment. We look forward to and cheer for Hong Seok’s even more brilliant steps forward,” it continues.

“Please show your warm support and encouragement for Hong Seok of PENTAGON even after his departure from CUBE Entertainment, who will be starting anew,” the statement concluded.

Since the announcement, Hongseok shared a message to his fans on his official Instagram account. “CUBE Entertainment about 9 years together. Thanks to you, I met a team called PENTAGON, I gained a brother. And most of all, meet the UNIVERSE,” he wrote. “It was a series of happy times. Staying cool in front of you, I’ll turn up, Always be grateful!”

On October 9, CUBE Entertainment confirmed that Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok decided against renewing their contracts with the company. This makes Hongseok the sixth member of PENTAGON to leave the agency. However, Yeo One also assured fans that the group will continue promoting despite their departure from their former company.

In related news, all members of BTOB decided to leave CUBE Entertainment after 11 years with the company.
