Hong Dabin’s current agency, CTYL, released an official press statement on January 30 KST, affirming its dedication to safeguarding the artist’s rights and seeking justice in the matter.

“The complaint is directed against Dream Perfect Regime Co., Ltd., the former CEO Kim Scott Yunho, and Regime International Co., Ltd.. The allegations include ‘unfair profit distribution‘, ‘non-payment and withholding of settlement data’, and ‘non-payment of appearance fees and settlement data for the world tour‘.

“As representative of the artist, deeply acknowledge the gravity of this case and are actively pursuing legal measures to safeguard the rights of our artist. Our hope is that the true facts will be unveiled through this lawsuit, and we are committed to making diligent efforts to prevent the recurrence of similar cases in the future.”

DPR Live rose to prominence in 2016 with ‘Yes Freestyle’ and achieved further success with his debut album, ‘Coming to You Live.’ His popularity extended globally, leading to a world tour in 2018 and invitations to perform at renowned events such as Coachella and Lollapalooza. These accomplishments solidified his standing as a rising star in both domestic and international hip-hop scenes.

The decision to file a complaint underscores DPR Live’s commitment to addressing what he perceives as unfair treatment and financial discrepancies during his tenure with Dream Perfect Regime. The legal action may bring greater scrutiny to industry practices regarding profit distribution and financial agreements between artists and their management agencies. The outcome of this case will be closely monitored by industry professionals and fans alike, as it has the potential to impact the treatment of artists and their rights within the entertainment landscape.
