Jungkook, Soyeon, and Vernon Become Full Members of KOMCA

BTS‘s Jungkook, SEVENTEEN‘s Vernon, and (G)I-DLE‘s Soyeon became full members of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) on January 31. Jungkook is now credited as the songwriter of 22 songs and versions on KOMCA. “Dreamers” and “Dreamers (Live Version)” have been added to his portfolio. BTS Jung Kook becomes KOMCA regular member

Vernon is the second member of SEVENTEEN after Woozi to be promoted as a full member of KOMCA. With 88 songwriting credits to his name, he’s also the member with the second most contributions to the group’s discography, after Woozi. Vernon wrote lyrics for hits such as “Mansae,” “Left & Right,” and “_WORLD.” He also helped compose the music for “_WORLD.”

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon was acknowledged for her role in writing, composing, and producing her group’s hits. These include “Tomboy,” “Queencard,” and “Nxde.”

KOMCA plays a key role

KOMCA came on the scene in 1964. It plays a key role in administering public performance, broadcasting rights, and mechanical recording and reproduction rights of musical works within South Korea. It also compiles all credits of artists in musical works and announces its list of full and junior members annually. To become a full member, artists must meet several criteria. They must earn at least 30M KRW per year in royalties, receive approval from the board of directors, and be a junior member for a minimum of three years.

KOMCA became an associate member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) in 1987. It became a full member in 1985.

G-Dragon from BIGBANG was the first K-pop idol to become a full member of KOMCA, followed by BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and Jisoo. Other idols who made the cut include BTOB’s Hyunsik, IU, Stray KidsBang Chan, Changbin, and Han (3RACHA), and WINNER’s Mino and Seungyoon. – K-Pop News Writer

SEVENTEEN Vernon’s Honest Response to Weird Fan Interaction Earns Praises

Vernon has always made CARATs smile with his unusual ways. However, a weird fan interaction proved that the SEVENTEEN member also knows how to deal with strange requests from fans. Vernon had to deal with an unexpected video call and he didn’t hold back in stating that it just wasn’t his thing.

SEVENTEEN’s Vernon Deals with Weird Fan Interaction Like a Pro

In the era of both traditional in-person and video fan signs, interactions between idols and fans often lead to memorable moments. While many of these encounters result in heartwarming and funny exchanges, a recent video call featuring SEVENTEEN’s Vernon caught the attention of fans for an unexpected reason.

In this particular video call, which took place during SEVENTEEN’s “Super” promotion period, Vernon was chatting with an English-speaking fan. The fan introduced the concept, mentioning the Kardashian family, and playfully exaggerated her speech, almost moaning as she talked. She informed Vernon that her birthday was approaching, and she asked him for a birthday gift in a playful manner.

Vernon responded with humor, expressing his willingness to provide a gift if she stopped using that exaggerated tone. Both of them shared a laugh, enjoying the playful banter. However, the fan persisted in speaking that way and inquired about Vernon’s thoughts on the concept.

In response, Vernon pulled a funny face and playfully remarked that he “really dislikes it.” The clip ended on this humorous note, leaving fans amused by the exchange.

This video call serves as an example of the entertaining and candid interactions that can occur during fan meetings and video calls with idols. It highlights the playful rapport between idols and their fans, where both parties can share laughter and create memorable moments, even if the results might not always align with the initial expectations.

SEVENTEEN is currently promoting their new album ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’ and the title track “God of Music”.

SEVENTEEN’s Hip Hop Team Get Floral in Japanese LP ‘Always Yours’ Teaser Photos

SEVENTEEN is generating excitement for their forthcoming Japanese album, ‘Always Yours.’ The Hip Hop Team is showing off their stunning visuals amidst gorgeous flowers in the latest teasers. Not surprisingly, S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon are channeling their soft side in the photos.

SEVENTEEN Hip Hop Team Show Off Their Soft Side In New ‘Always Yours’ Teasers

On August 20, SEVENTEEN unveiled a collection of captivating photo teasers to tease the Hip Hop Team’s arrival. These striking images feature S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon, immersed in a vibrant sea of flowers, exuding their youthful allure. The teasers offer a tantalizing glimpse into what promises to be a visually stunning and musically enchanting Japanese release.

With their unique blend of talent and charisma, SEVENTEEN continues to captivate fans both in Japan and around the world, and ‘Always Yours’ is poised to be another remarkable addition to their discography. The photos serve as a captivating prelude to what fans can expect from this highly anticipated album.

Although the images are hyping up CARATs for the upcoming release, there is also much concern about the Hip Hop Team leader. It was recently confirmed that S. Coups is taking a break to recuperate from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The SEVENTEEN leader was injured while filming content with the rest of the group. Once taken to the hospital, it was confirmed that Choi Seungcheol had suffered from a torn ACL and would need several months to recuperate.

For now, it looks like promotions for the new Japanese album will proceed without S. Coups. The rapper is expected to take a lengthy hiatus since recuperation from surgery could last almost a year. Nevertheless, fans are already looking forward to the new album.

Fans can anticipate an eagerly awaited Japanese compilation from SEVENTEEN. It includes their greatest hits, featuring past Japanese versions of songs, along with two fresh tracks: the original Japanese title “Ima -Even if the world ends tomorrow-“ and “Sara Sara,” as previously teased in the highlight medley. ‘Always Yours’ will be released on August 23, 2023.
