Suzy Bae And Park Bo Gum Are Lovers Reunited By AI in “Wonderland”

The upcoming movie “Wonderland” finally released its official trailer and is set for global this July 26, except in South Korea. The film features Suzy Bae and Park Bo Gum, marking his first role since the 2021 film “Seo Bok.”

‘Wonderland’ will bring families and lovers back together in an AI universe

According to Netflix, the film will bring audiences “into a simulated universe where people can reunite with their departed loved ones” through a video call service called ‘Wonderland’.

The film will include notable cast members like Jung Yu-mi, Choi Woo-shik, Gong Yoo, and Chinese actress Tang Wei. “The film explores the intriguing concept of using artificial intelligence to recreate the deceased, making it possible to once again communicate with those we love,” Netflix added. This unique concept of reuniting with loved ones through AI adds a new layer of emotional depth and technological intrigue to the film.

In the newly released trailer, the film gives viewers a glimpse of the fantasy sci-fi setting and the touching, parallel storylines that will unfold throughout the film. Suzy Bae takes on the role of Jung In, who reconstructs her boyfriend, Tae Joo (played by Park Bo Gum), who lies in a coma following an accident. Using the simulated universe service, Tae Joo can wake up from unconsciousness.

On the other hand, Gong Yoo will play the role of AI Sung Joon, who communicates with the Wonderland service’s planners while monitoring the emotional changes of AI Bai Li, portrayed by Tang Wei. Bai Li has been constructed as an archaeologist through the Wonderland service.

The new film was initially set for release in 2021 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie completed filming in 2020 and was indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic and its impact on theaters. Despite this, the production and the cast hope for a successful global release and a positive audience response.

“Wonderland” is set to captivate audiences with its heartfelt narrative and stellar performances.
