Listening Party of GOT7 Yugyeom Turns Into a Star-Studded Event With SEVENTEEN, NCT, and Other Celebs

It’s not every time that we get to see several artists from different agencies in one frame. But Yugyeom just did that! And to the delight of fans, these artists also come from different fields in the South Korean entertainment industry.

On February 20, Yugyeom of the K-pop boy group GOT7 hosted a listening party for his first full-length album Trust Me. To fans’ surprise, a number of familiar faces in the industry came in to support the singer.

After the event, the youngest GOT7 member treated the fans by showing a glimpse of the party through a series of photos. Notably, the guest list included SEVENTEEN members DK, Mingyu, The8, Woozi and Vernon, NCT members Johnny and Jaehyun, and fellow GOT7 member Bambam.

Moreover, ATEEZ’s Mingi, BtoB’s Peniel, iKON’s Donghyuk, and Pentagon’s Kino and Hui were also among the boy group members who went to celebrate with Yugyeom.

As if these male idols’ crossover wasn’t enough, a couple of soloists and celebrities were also spotted at the star-studded event. Some of which are actor Song Kang, rapper Loco, music producer CODE KUNST, and the Kwon brothers who gained popularity in the hit reality show Street Man Fighter.

All out support for Yugyeom and his debut album

As Yugyeom finally dropped Trust Me on February 21, his friends and fans made sure to praise him on this milestone.

In his Instagram post where he announced the album’s track list, the idol was showered with congratulatory messages. Among those who celebrated his achievement is Jennie of BLACKPINK, who’s known to be close friends with GOT7’s maknae.

In addition, his labelmates in AOMG Record Label, also showed their support for the singer. For instance, rapper PUNCHNELLO and singers Gray and DeVita, who also attended the listening party, all commented under Yugeom’s post.

Meanwhile, Ahgases, GOT7’s fanbase, also shared their excitement on social media as they showered the artist with praises. One wrote: “The album is insane honestly. Yugyeom deserves all of this.”

Only two days after the album’s release, Trust Me already debuted at the #2 spot on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart.

Fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see Yugyeom perform live in Europe can mark their calendars, as tickets for ‘Yugyeom in Europe 2023’ are set to go on sale on October 6, 2023. This solo tour also promises to be an unforgettable experience for Yugyeom’s fans as they get to witness his talent and charisma on stage.

Yugyeom has been promoting as a solo artist after signing with AOMG in February 2021. However, he later reunited with Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, and BamBam for the self-titled EP ‘GOT7’ in May of the same year. He recently released the single album ‘LOLO’ in July 2023.

Jay Park Shares Initial Worries About GOT7’s Jay B and Yugyeom

GOT7 members Jay B and Yugyeom have found new companies after their departure from JYP Entertainment. However, Jay Park admits he was initially uncertain about accepting the two idols into H1GHR Music and AOMG, respectively.

Jay Park Reveals True Feelings About Working With GOT7’s Jay B and Yugyeom

Jay Park had previously spoken to Jay B in a special video shared on the H1GHR Music YouTube channel. During their conversation, the former 2PM rapper admitted to the GOT7 leader that he had some concerns about Jay B and Yugyeom joining Park’s labels.

As well as Yugyeom and you, I was slightly worried,” Park said. “If we were to collaborate on music, would it synergize? And can we produce something great?

He added, “So no matter how much you like this style of music and how long it’s been, your main job was being an idol for 7 years. So I thought would we be able to work together.”

Although he was initially unsure, Park claims that Jay B made those worries disappear when they began working together. The “Bestie” rapper explained that he realized things will work out when they worked on Jay B’s solo single “Switch It Up”.

“When you and Cha Cha Malone and I started our first studio session, it was more fun than expected and the songwriting went well. The product also came out great and the vocals were very solid,” Jay Park said.

“The moment I asked for any tweaks or changes, you did it right away,” he continued. “That made it very enjoyable. Your openness and ability to quickly adapt. That impressed me so much.”

Jay B and Yugyeom, as well as the rest of GOT7, left JYP Entertainment in 2021. Jay B signed on to H1GHR Music in May that year and moved to CDNZA Records when his contract expired in 2022.

Yugyeom signed with AOMG in February 2021. His latest single “Ponytail” was released in January 2023.
