THE BOYZ’s leader Sangyeon is preparing to enlist in the military this March, joining the Army Band for his mandatory service.
Sangyeon of THE BOYZ Announces Official Military Enlistment Date
On January 23, ONE HUNDRED, THE BOYZ’s new agency, confirmed the news in an official announcement. Sangyeon is the first member of the group to enlist, and his decision to serve in the Army Band reflects his dedication to using his musical talents while fulfilling his duty.
“Sangyeon applied to the Army Band and received his final acceptance notification from the Military Manpower Administration on January 23,” the statement read. “His enlistment date is set for March 17, and there will be no special events held on the day of his entry into the training camp to ensure safety and prevent confusion.”
“This decision has been made out of respect for the other soldiers and their families, so we kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting,” it continued. “Sangyeon will create great memories with fans until his enlistment.”
This announcement comes shortly after THE BOYZ’s significant career milestone in 2024, when the group signed with ONE HUNDRED as a full team following the expiration of their contracts with IST Entertainment. Their transition to the new agency has marked a fresh chapter for the group, who have continued to thrive and grow in popularity.
Before his enlistment, Sangyeon will join his fellow members at the highly anticipated fan-con “THE B LAND”. Scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 2, the event promises a memorable experience for fans as THE BOYZ showcase their talents and express gratitude for the unwavering support from their fandom, THE B.
Fans have been flooding social media with messages of love and encouragement for Sangyeon as he prepares for this next phase of his life. Wishing Sangyeon all the best as he embarks on his military service journey!
