THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo has officially released a formal apology in response to the ongoing controversy surrounding his behavior in a recent viral video.

Sunwoo Issues Formal Apology for Controversial ‘AirPods’ Video

On April 14, Sunwoo took to a fan communication platform to personally address the situation, following his agency ONE HUNDRED’s earlier statement. The agency had apologized for the incident and warned of legal action against the spread of malicious rumors. However, as public debate over the video continued to intensify, Sunwoo decided to issue a heartfelt message himself.

“I don’t want to simply ask for forgiveness, nor am I saying that I was misunderstood,” he wrote. “If anyone perceived me in a certain way, then I must acknowledge that perhaps I truly was that kind of person to them. What I need to do now is prove—to both you and myself—that I am not that person, that I am someone who truly values people, relationships, and hearts. Even if it takes time, I will show you this.”

Finally, this message is my sincere apology to those who criticized me for my mistakes and immaturity, to those who may have felt hurt and uncomfortable because of my actions, and to everyone around me who continues to show me love. I hope this letter conveys my heart without any misunderstanding,” he continued.

What’s The Deal with Sunwoo?

The controversy began when a fan-recorded video surfaced showing THE BOYZ entering an elevator. In the clip, Sunwoo is heard shouting, “My AirPods!” after noticing his earphones had fallen outside. A security guard quickly retrieved them and returned them to him. Although the exchange lasted only a few seconds, many netizens criticized Sunwoo for appearing to issue a command without showing gratitude, leading to accusations of disrespectful behavior.

Former After School member Nana also weighed in, calling Sunwoo’s behavior disrespectful and standing by her opinion despite backlash.
