Woo Kyung Jun had two major announcements in just one go. The young idol has been confirmed to enlist for mandatory military service. However, he will not be returning as a member of THE NEW SIX after his discharge.
Woo Kyung Jun To Leave THE NEW SIX Ahead of Military Enlistment
On October 23, P NATION officially announced that Woo Kyung Jun, a member of THE NEW SIX (TNX), will be enlisting in the military and permanently stepping down from his role in the group. According to the agency’s statement, Woo Kyung Jun has decided to fulfill his military duty and will not resume group activities after completing his service. This decision marks a significant turning point for both the artist and the group.
“Kyung Jun recently informed us of his decision to enlist in the military and to leave THE NEW SIX upon completing his service. After much deliberation, P NATION and Kyung Jun have mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract. As of October 23rd, 2024, Kyung Jun will be departing from THE NEW SIX,” the statement read.
Woo Kyung Jun first gained public attention through SBS’s survival program “LOUD” in 2021, where he competed against numerous trainees to secure his spot in TNX under P NATION. Since then, he has also showcased his talents through group releases and performances, contributing to TNX’s growing popularity.
Recently, TNX participated in Mnet’s competitive show “Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE,” where Woo Kyung Jun’s performances were also well-received by fans and showcased the group’s potential in the competitive K-pop landscape.
While the announcement may disappoint fans who have followed his journey since “LOUD,” P NATION expressed gratitude for his contributions to the group and support for his future endeavors. Fans are now sending well-wishes to Kyung Jun as he embarks on his military service, awaiting updates on TNX’s activities as a five-member group.
