BIGHIT MUSIC continues to work in defense of BTS. The company has shared an update on legal proceedings as they continue to fight for the group members’ rights.
BIGHIT MUSIC Shares Update in Legal Efforts in Defense of BTS
On September 30, BIGHIT MUSIC released an official statement providing updates on their ongoing legal efforts to protect BTS’s rights. This statement underscores the agency’s unwavering commitment to defending the group against various forms of malicious activities, including scams, defamation, and harassment.
“This quarter, we have continued to collect evidence of numerous malicious posts uploaded across various online forums, including Ilgan Best, DC Inside, theqoo, FMKorea, and instiz, through fan reports and internal monitoring. We have submitted complaints to the relevant investigative authorities regarding these materials,” the statement read.
“As noted in our previous notice, the first trial for damages incurred by defamation and other illegal activities by Taldeok Camp (탈덕수용소) has begun, and follow-up procedures are being diligently pursued. Additionally, we are actively coordinating with law enforcement and government agencies to ensure that individuals who illegally acquired and spread the artists’ personal information are appropriately punished,” it added.
BIGHIT Music: The Fight Continues
Earlier in the month, on September 11, BIGHIT MUSIC had issued a strong warning to fans about the rising number of scams and fraudulent activities targeting BTS’s immense fanbase. These scams have taken various forms, such as phishing attempts, impersonation, and unauthorized events, all aimed at exploiting BTS’s popularity for personal or financial gain. The company urged fans to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to such schemes.
Throughout 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC has actively pursued legal action to safeguard BTS from defamatory actions and harmful misinformation. The agency provided regular updates to fans, reflecting their dedication to protecting the members of BTS from both online and offline threats. These legal actions are not only focused on preventing scams but also target individuals or groups who spread damaging rumors or false information about the group.
The decision to involve legal authorities demonstrates the seriousness of the issues at hand. In the digital age, public figures like BTS are also increasingly vulnerable to organized campaigns of defamation, harassment, and misinformation. These efforts seek to tarnish the group’s reputation and challenge their global success. By pursuing legal measures, BIGHIT MUSIC is also sending a clear message that they will not tolerate any attempts to harm BTS’s image or undermine their achievements. The agency remains committed to ensuring that justice is served and that the group’s integrity is upheld.
