TXT Drops Dance Practice Video for MTV VMAs Performance

On September 19, K-pop sensation TOMORROW X TOGETHER, aka TXT, released a new dance practice video, giving fans an in-depth look into their performance of “Back for More” for the MTV Video Music Awards. This video features all five TXT members—Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai—with a Korean dancer filling in for Anitta.

During the ceremony held at New Jersey’s Prudential Center, TXT and Brazilian star Anitta premiered their chart-topping single “Back for More.” This collaboration not only marked their debut of the song but also celebrated their win for Push Performance of the Year.

TXT (투모로우바이투게더), Anitta 2023 VMAs ‘Back for More’ Dance Practice

The performance was nothing short of electrifying. Beomgyu took the stage first, capturing the crowd’s attention with his slick moves. He danced across the LED floor, his arms and legs moving in time to the water “rippling” beneath his feet.

“Back for More” is a hip blend of Anitta‘s Brazilian flair and TXT‘s Korean style, a testament to the star power of both acts. The song, which was eagerly awaited by fans, arrived on streaming platforms on September 15. Additionally, a TXT-only version, along with house and afrobeat remixes, followed on September 18.

TXT was firing on all cylinders

TXT took center stage as the lines “I can see you coming back for more / Coming back for more, if you walk out that door” reverberated throughout the venue. After the chorus, the song took on a Latin feel. Anitta joined the quintet via a back staircase and delivered her verse in English and Spanish.

Their combined energy was palpable, especially during the synchronized sequences that led to a thrilling dance break led by main dancer Yeonjun. Throughout this performance, TXT was firing on all cylinders. They impressed the crowd with their dancing and live singing skills.

TXT‘s performances on American stages, such as their appearances at Lollapalooza in 2022 and 2023, have always garnered attention. However, the VMA debut of “Back For More” underscored their versatility and burgeoning influence in the global music industry.

Thankfully, MOAs everywhere can relive the performance through the dance practice video. This footage, released today, offers a panoramic view of Anitta’s and TXT’s moves, including the special intro and dance break that wowed the VMA crowd. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’ V Soars to New Heights on Billboard Charts

After a remarkable solo debut on the Billboard 200, BTSV continues to make waves in the music industry. On September 19, Billboard announced that V had made a triumphant return to its Artist 100 chart, securing the No. 3 spot. This marks his third week on the chart. He’s tied with fellow BTS member SUGA for the second-highest rank achieved by a Korean in Artist 100 history. Jimin, who clinched the No. 1 spot in April, is the only other member to surpass this.

V‘s title track, “Slow Dancing,” made its debut at No. 51 on the Hot 100, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the U.S. This achievement is particularly notable as it’s V‘s third solo entry on the chart, surpassing his previous releases “Christmas Tree” (which peaked at No. 79) and “Love Me Again” (No. 96).

V‘s solo album Layover also garnered significant attention, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and the Top Album Sales chart. This means Layover was the second best-selling album of the week in the U.S., only behind Olivia Rodrigo‘s Guts. Furthermore, every track from Layover found its place on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. chart this week.

Congratulations to BTS’ V

“Slow Dancing” secured the No. 2 spot on the Digital Song Sales chart. Meanwhile, his B-side track “Blue” entered at No. 12. His earlier singles “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days” made a comeback, re-entering the chart at No. 34 and No. 35 respectively. Another B-side, “For Us,” debuted at No. 49. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Slow Dancing” debuted at No. 3, with “Love Me Again,” “Rainy Days,” “Blue,” and “For Us” also making notable appearances.

On the Global 200 chart, “Slow Dancing” marked its presence at No. 4. It was joined by “Love Me Again” at No. 39, “Rainy Days” at No. 59, “Blue” at No. 89, and “For Us” at No. 113.

V‘s solo endeavors have resonated with fans worldwide, leading to these outstanding achievements on the Billboard charts. As the K-pop scene grows, great artists like V are at the forefront, pushing boundaries and setting new records. Congratulations to V on these exciting milestones! – K-Pop News Writer

♬ Lost In The Fire – versations

Eunseok‘s journey with SM Entertainment is a roller-coaster of opportunities and choices. The company cast him on four separate occasions, and each time, he declined. This decision—which may have had something to do with the fact that he was in middle school when they first approached him—raised eyebrows, given the agency’s stature in the industry. Eventually, he agreed to sign a contract and trained under SM for five years. During his audition at SM, he showcased his vocal prowess with EXO‘s “Growl,” a choice that undoubtedly left an impression.

While many wonder about his reasons for dodging SM at first, Eunseok‘s personality might offer some clues. Although he can be shy, he has a knack for building strong relationships with those around him. His MBTI type, ISTP, often called the “Virtuoso,” aligns with this. ISTPs are independent, practical, and have sharp observational skills. They might seem reserved, but they also adapt easily and connect well when they decide to. Eunseok‘s decisions reflect the ISTP’s desire for autonomy and ability to carve out their own path.

Much ado about Eunseok

Adding to the buzz around Eunseok, SM Entertainment recently dubbed him the official visual of RIIZE. This announcement came as SM Entertainment artists debuted on Weverse, a fan community platform run by HYBE. The transition to Weverse resulted from an agreement between HYBE and Kakao during the acquisition of SM in March. Artists shared welcome messages on this platform and their profiles were updated. Among the descriptions of RIIZE members, Eunseok‘s introduction as the group’s official visual garnered significant attention.

The revelation of Eunseok being the official visual of RIIZE sparked diverse reactions. Some fans expressed surprise and said other members would be a better fit. But most BRIIZE felt Eunseok deserved the title. They said his “gentle” features and height made him the perfect choice.

Eunseok‘s journey in the K-pop world is a testament to the power of determination and self-belief. His ISTP personality allowed him to navigate the industry on his terms. As RIIZE continues to make waves, fans eagerly anticipate more from Eunseok, a true virtuoso. – K-Pop News Writer

Lisa’s Potential Departure From YG Entertainment Has Investors Concerned

BLACKPINK, the crown jewel of YG Entertainment, has recently been thrust into the limelight. Not for their chart-topping hits, but due to remarks made by member Lisa during a recent Seoul show. Her words led to a flurry of speculations, which had a tangible impact on the agency’s stock market performance.

On September 18, YG Entertainment’s stocks exhibited a noticeable dip, closing at a slightly lower price of 78,000 KRW (58.90 USD) per share. Market analysts attribute this 1.64% decline from the previous trading day to the swirling rumors of Lisa‘s potential departure from her group and the agency.

Fueling these speculations was the news from September 15 highlighting Lisa‘s growing closeness to Frédéric Arnault, the son of LVMH’s Chairman and the CEO of TAG Heuer. Rumors are rife that Lisa turned down a whopping 50 Billion KRW (37.6 million USD) offer from YG Entertainment. This rumor alone triggered a 2.9% drop in the company’s stock price.

The future of YG

BLACKPINK’s ‘Born Pink’ world tour finale at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on September 16 and 17 became a hotbed for fan theories and investor concerns. Lisa‘s heartfelt speech to the BLINKs (BLACKPINK‘s dedicated fanbase) in attendance went viral.

https://www.tiktok.com/@blinked_area/video/7279757767236144389?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=6908322787502065153

She expressed, “This tour was possible thanks to BLINKs, and I was able to perform in various amazing venues. Regardless of the weather, I appreciate your relentless support and enjoyment. Thank you for brightening my 20s.” The vague way she worded her ending ment led many to believe she was saying goodbye to the fans.

The other members’ ending ments couldn’t be more different. Jennie reassured BLINKs by saying, “This year marks our seventh anniversary since debut. I desperately wanted to have an encore finale in Seoul, as I haven’t been able to see many BLINKs in Korea. I’m thrilled and grateful that it happened. Rest assured, we will continue to strive as BLACKPINK.”

With such contrasting statements from the members, the speculations around the status of Lisa‘s contract have only grown.  In the world of K-pop, where every move is scrutinized, the future of BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment in general remains a topic of intense discussion and speculation. – K-Pop News Writer
