The GFRIEND love is still going strong, demonstrating the enduring bond between the members even after their official disbandment. This past weekend, VIVIZ—consisting of GFRIEND members Eunha, SinB, and Umji—held their first-ever concerts in Seoul, marking the kickoff of their 2024 world tour “V.hind : Love and Tears.”

All 6 GFRIEND Members Reunite with Former Choreographer

On June 1, all six original GFRIEND members reunited for the first night of VIVIZ’s concert. Sowon, Yerin, and Yuju attended the event to show their unwavering support for their fellow bandmates. This heartwarming reunion was a significant moment for fans, who were thrilled to see the entire group together again, reinforcing their strong camaraderie and mutual support.

Additionally, Park Jun Hee, the choreographer responsible for many of GFRIEND’s iconic early choreographies for hits such as “Me Gustas Tu,” “Rough,” and “Navillera,” also attended the concert. His presence added a nostalgic touch to the event, bringing back memories of GFRIEND’s early days and their rise to fame.

The following day, Park Jun Hee took to Instagram to share several photos from the concert, including a cherished group photo taken backstage with all the GFRIEND members. This gesture further highlighted the enduring relationships and professional respect within the group and their extended creative team.

The Rise and Fall of GFRIEND

GFRIEND was formed by Source Music in 2015 and quickly gained popularity with their debut extended play (EP) ‘Season of Glass’ released on January 15, 2015. The group, consisting of members Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji, won several female rookie awards early in their career, building a strong fanbase despite being from a smaller company. Their success was driven by their catchy songs, synchronized choreography, and relatable, girl-next-door image.

Yuju is hoping that Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, SinB, and Umji will all be available for the possible GFriend reunion

However, GFRIEND disbanded on May 22, 2021, after all members chose not to renew their contracts with Source Music. This decision marked the end of an era for the fans but also the beginning of new chapters for each member. Eunha, SinB, and Umji, determined to continue their musical journey together, signed with BPM Entertainment and formed the group VIVIZ in 2022.

The recent reunion at VIVIZ’s concert and the support from all GFRIEND members reflect the lasting bond and friendship that transcends their official activities as a group. Their continued collaboration and public appearances together also provide fans with moments of nostalgia and joy, proving that the spirit of GFRIEND lives on through their individual and collective endeavors.
