Amidst ongoing controversy surrounding their recent live broadcast, the KISS OF LIFE members have personally addressed the issue with a heartfelt handwritten apology letter.

KISS OF LIFE Members Apologize for Recent Controversy

On April 3, the group’s agency, S2 Entertainment, released an official apology in English via their platforms, acknowledging the feedback and pledging to be more careful with content moving forward.

However, on April 6 KST, the members of KISS OF LIFE took it a step further by sharing a handwritten apology letter, directly addressing fans and the public in their own words. In the letter, the members expressed deep regret and sincere remorse for causing discomfort, admitting they lacked proper awareness and understanding. They emphasized that there was no intention to disrespect any culture, and they promised to take this experience as a lesson to grow both personally and professionally.

“We are sorry,” the statement read. “Our intention was to show how much we loved the category of old school hip hop because it greatly influences our music. While shooting the content we ended up taking the concept too far. We realize now that our content was culturally insensitive and take full responsibility for our actions and can only promise to do better.”

“We truly regret the choices we made and are genuinely sorry for any pain and distress we have caused our fans,” it added. “This situation has been a valuable learning experience for us. Our Kissy’s [sic] support means the world to us and we will continue to honor you all in every way possible.”

The group faced criticism earlier this week after holding a live broadcast celebrating member Julie’s birthday, which featured an “old-school hip hop” theme. While the intent was to pay homage to the genre, many viewers took issue with the concept’s alleged cultural insensitivity, sparking concern and disappointment among fans and netizens.
