Jaehyun To Enlist for Military Service After Solo Debut
On September 26, Jaehyun’s agency SM Entertainment released an official statement confirming that the NCT member is gearing up for his mandatory military enlistment.
“NCT’s Jaehyun applied to the Army Band and received a notification of acceptance from the Military Manpower Administration today. Accordingly, he is scheduled to enlist as an active duty soldier on November 4 to fulfill his mandatory service,” the statement read.
“On the day of his entry into the recruit training center, there will be no official event to prevent safety accidents due to the congestion caused by the presence of many soldiers and their families,” it added.
The news comes just a month after his highly anticipated solo debut in August, leaving fans with mixed emotions. While his enlistment marks a temporary pause in his career, fans are proud of his solo achievements and eagerly awaiting his return.
Jaehyun, known for his versatility, has made a lasting impression as a vocalist and performer in NCT. His solo debut with the track “Smoke” introduced fans to a different side of his artistry, combining a film noir aesthetic with his captivating vocals. The music video for “Smoke” further highlighted his creative vision, blending cinematic visuals with his signature smooth sound.
As Jaehyun prepares for his enlistment, he becomes the second member of NCT to fulfill his military service after Taeyong. His departure marks a significant moment for the group and its fans, but also strengthens the bond within the fandom, who are united in wishing him a safe and healthy service.
Jaehyun’s enlistment symbolizes both an emotional farewell and hopeful anticipation for his return to the stage in the future.
