Changsub is officially taking a break. The BTOB member has announced a temporary hiatus as he deals with throat health issues.

BTOB Member Changub Confirms Hiatus to Deal With Throat Health Issues

Fantagio’s recent announcement regarding BTOB’s Changsub has left fans concerned about the idol’s health. On March 21, the agency issued a statement through Changsub’s official company account, revealing that he was facing throat health issues. This revelation prompted Changsub to seek medical attention, where the doctor advised him to take a hiatus from his activities, including singing, as it could exacerbate his throat condition.

Given the severity of Changsub’s health concerns, Fantagio made the difficult decision to cancel his upcoming schedules and postpone certain activities until he has fully recovered. The agency emphasized that Changsub’s well-being is their top priority and expressed their sincere apologies to fans for any inconvenience caused by the sudden changes to his schedule. They also urged fans to extend their understanding and support during this challenging time.

“In accordance with the doctor’s recommendation, we are adjusting future schedules, excluding the BTOB fan concert scheduled, in order to treat and manage the condition of his throat. We ask for your understanding in advance that he may cancel or postpone [his other scheduled activities],” the statement read.

Despite his temporary hiatus, Changsub remains committed to fulfilling his obligations as a member of BTOB. He is set to participate in the group’s highly anticipated 2024 BTOB FAN-CON [OUR DREAM], scheduled to take place this week. Fans can still look forward to seeing Changsub alongside his fellow members as they come together to celebrate their shared dreams and achievements.

As fans rally behind Changsub and send their well-wishes for his speedy recovery, the news serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing health and self-care, even in the fast-paced world of K-pop. With Fantagio’s support and the unwavering love of his fans, Changsub can focus on recuperating and returning to the stage stronger than ever.

BTOB Member Changsub Announces April Solo Comeback

The April solo comeback is strategically planned ahead of BTOB’s full group comeback, slated for March. This means that Lee Changsub’s schedule is packed with exciting activities in the coming months. Lee Changsub of K-pop boy group BTOB will be continuing his activities in the entertainment industry under the agency Fantagio.

On Wednesday, November 23, Fantagio confirmed that the idol has entered an exclusive contract with them after deep discussion. “We will be unsparing in our full support of Lee Changsub, so that he can promote actively in a wide variety of fields,” the agency said.

Furthermore, Fantagio also emphasized that Changsub will be continuing with his group activities, saying that the idol himself is “firm in his determination” to do so. “We will support him and adjust his schedule so that he can pursue his group activities as his top priority,” the label added.

Meanwhile, Changsub also took to his personal Instagram to share the news. In his handwritten letter, he expressed his gratitude to their fans, MELODYs, and asked them for their continued support in this new chapter.

“We are going to be together forever so please do not worry. I’m going to continue to put the group activity above everything. And there are projects planned ahead, so please send lots of support and love,” he wrote.

Moreover, he also promised fans that the rest of BTOB members will also be bringing good news soon.

What’s next for Changsub?

His transfer to Fantagio came weeks after all members of BTOB left CUBE Entertainment after 11 years. According to the agency, both parties have amicably decided not to renew the contract.

“The relationship between CUBE Entertainment and BTOB has unfortunately come to an end here, but we will sincerely support the new growth and shining future of the BTOB members with endless possibilities,” they said.

Notably, Changsub is the first BTOB member to have inked a contract with a new agency. Other members of the group – Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, Peniel, and Sungjae – have yet to announce their new labels.

Now that he’s with a new agency, fans are anticipating Changsub’s next project. Outside of BTOB, he also released solo songs such as “You Inside My Memories,” “At The End,” “Gone” and “I Guess I Loved You.”

On top of that, he also made a name as a theatrical actor, having been part of productions Boys Over Flowers, Napoleon, Iron Mask, and Memphis.

In other news, BTOB joins a growing list of K-pop acts severing ties with CUBE Entertainment in recent months. Among them are PENTAGON members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, Wooseok, and Hongseok
