EXO’s Kai Celebrates After Successfully Forcing SM Entertainment To Organize Free Fan Meeting Ahead of Military Enlistment

Kai is getting his wish to see his fans before he enlists in military service. The EXO main dancer celebrated after successfully convincing SM Entertainment to organize a rush fan meeting. The event will be held before Kim Jong-in’s mandatory military service enlistment next week.

SM Entertainment Announces Special Fan Meeting Ahead of Kai’s Military Enlistment

SM Entertainment shared the announcement regarding the special event.

“We are writing to send out a notice that we have prepared a place on Tuesday, May 9 at 7PM at YES24 Live Hall for Kai and EXO-L,” the announcement read. It also confirmed that the intimate event is free but only available for selected fans. However, those who are unable to attend in person can watch the fan meeting online.

“As it is a small place, the event will be free and only EXO-L ACE III and EXO-L ACE II are able to pre-register,” it read. “For fans that are not able to come to the venue, it will be broadcast live on EXO’s Youtube Channel.”

The special fan meeting is not a surprise for EXO-Ls since Kai had shared his intentions with his fans. The EXO member previously confirmed he will “blackmail” his own company to allow him to hold an emergency fan meeting. Kim Jongin later celebrated on his fan community after successfully forcing SM Entertainment to organize the event.

“I succeeded,” he told his fans. “All I had to do was frown a little.”

Kai had previously expressed his disappointment about having to enlist for military service. He explained that he wasn’t sad about serving his country. Instead, he had been looking forward to showing his fans his plans for EXO’s comeback.

“There’s so much that I had prepared. What a pity. That’s what’s upsetting. There’s nothing that I could do about this,” Kai said.

Kai will begin his enlistment on May 11, 2023. The special fan meeting will be held on May 9, 2023.

EXO’s Kai Sheds Tears After Military Enlistment Announcement

Kai is officially enlisting for military service. The EXO main dancer is preparing for military enlistment later this month. The announcement was a huge surprise even for Kim Jongin who tearfully revealed he had upcoming plans for EXO-Ls.

SM Entertainment Announces Kai’s Surprise Military Enlistment

SM Entertainment issued a statement confirming Kai’s military enlistment next week.

“Although Kai had been preparing for EXO’s comeback later this year, due to recent changes in the law regarding military enlistment, Kai will be enlisting on May 11 to complete his basic training, after which he will begin working as a social worker,” the statement reads.

“To respect Kai’s wishes to quietly enlist, we are not revealing the place and time at which he will enlist,” it continues. “We also ask that fans understand that any scheduled events on that day will be cancelled.”

The announcement is a huge surprise for fans since EXO will have a comeback later in the year. The comeback would be the first one with all members following Baekhyun’s military discharge in February 2023.

Kai Tears Up While Comforting Fans About Military Enlistment

Kai did not expect the news, either. He immediately went live after his agency made the announcement. During the broadcast, Kim Jong-in shed tears as he said, “I’m going to the military.”

He then explained he is not upset about serving his country. Instead, Kai revealed he was sad because he had huge plans for EXO’s comeback. He admitted to being excited about showing his plans to EXO-Ls.

“There’s so much that I had prepared. What a pity. That’s what’s upsetting. There’s nothing that I could do about this. I’m sad that I can’t show you what I prepared but I can just show it after I return,” Kai said.

He also confessed that he would miss his fans when he goes to the military.

“It’d be nice if I could see your faces before I go. I think I’m going to miss you so much. I’m already missing you right now though,” Kai admitted. However, he assured EXO-Ls he will feel better about his situation soon.

“Today is the first day of me finding out about it as well, so please be understanding. I’ll smile from tomorrow onwards,” Kim Jong-in said.

Kai will begin his military enlistment on May 11, 2023.

TVING shared the main poster for “All That We Loved” which features the three main characters of the upcoming drama. EXO’s Sehun takes centerstage as Go Yoo, the high school basketball star who donates a kidney to his best friend Go Hoon Hee (Jo Joon Young). Jang Yeo Bin‘s Han Seo Yoon rounds out the trio with her own sweet charm.

“All That We Loved” is a romance drama following best friends Goo Yoo and Go Joon Hee. Despite being polar opposites as the basketball star and top student, the boys begin to resemble each other after Goo Yoo donates a kidney to Go Joon Hee. The kidney gives Go Joon Hee cellular memory syndrome and they both fall in love with Han Seo Yoon.

Cellular memory syndrome is the hypothesis that one can acquire the personality, habits, and memories of their organ donor. After receiving a kidney from Goo Yoo, Go Joon Hee begins to resemble his best friend. When Go Yoo develops feelings for Han Seo Yoon, Go Joon Hee exhibits the same feelings as well.

Sehun has been busy since the beginning of April. In addition to playing one of the leads in “All That We Loved”, Oh Sehun reunited with the other members of EXO for a special fan meeting. The group celebrated their 11th debut anniversary with the 2023 Exo Fanmeeting ‘Exo’ Clock. The special fan meeting was held at the KSPO Dome on April 8 to 9, 2023.

The first two episodes of “All That We Loved” were released on April 5, 2023.
