(G)I-DLE’s Upcoming Album Possibly Set For Million-Seller Status

It’s only the first month of the year but (G)I-DLE is preparing to start 2024 right. Their agency has just unveiled that their upcoming album has shattered pre-order sales records. With that in mind, ‘2’ could be set for million-seller status next week!

Cube Entertainment Unveils Astounding 1.8 Million Pre-Orders for (G)I-DLE’s ‘2’

Cube Entertainment has disclosed that (G)I-DLE’s much-anticipated second full-length album ‘2’ has already amassed an extraordinary 1.8 million pre-orders. This staggering figure surpasses the 1.1 million pre-orders for their 6th mini-album ‘I feel,’ making it the highest pre-order volume in their domestic market. Notably, this achievement ties in second place in the history of pre-orders for a K-pop girl group. They share the spot with aespa’s ‘MY WORLD.’ The record for the highest pre-orders by a K-pop girl group stands at 2 million copies, set by BLACKPINK in 2022 with ‘Born Pink.’

The remarkable pre-order count indicates the massive anticipation for (G)I-DLE’s comeback. With two days remaining until the official release, there is potential for the final count to surge even higher. This accomplishment positions ‘2’ as a strong contender for million-seller status. Following the successful trajectory of ‘I Feel,’ which reached the 41st position on the US Billboard main album chart, ‘Billboard 200.’ With that in mind, (G)I-DLE may be well on their way to becoming one of the most successful girl groups in the industry today.

(G)I-DLE’s strategic expansion into the North American market, highlighted by their first American EP ‘HEAT’ reaching the 25th position on the ‘Billboard 200’ in October, adds an intriguing element to the potential success of ‘2’ on the international stage. The group continues to make waves with their distinct musicality and global appeal. With that in mind, their upcoming album promises to further establish (G)I-DLE as a powerhouse in the K-pop industry.

‘2’ is (G)I-DLE’s second full album and will be released on January 29, 2024. Their new single “Super Lady” will be dropped on the same day.
