GIRLS GENERATION Taeyeon on Why She Dislikes Music Shows

Taeyeon’s candid revelation about her dissatisfaction with the Korean music shows sparked a conversation within the K-Pop community and shed light on the challenges faced by artists in the industry.

GIRLS GENERATION’s Taeyeon Admits She Doesn’t Like Music Shows

As a seasoned performer with years of experience under her belt, her decision to forgo music show promotions for her latest release “To. X” highlighted the complexities and limitations of the current system.

Music shows have long been a staple in the K-Pop industry, serving as a platform for artists to showcase their latest songs and compete for recognition. However, Taeyeon’s comments in a new YouTube video with Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Donghae underscored the drawbacks of this system, particularly the grueling schedules and demanding production requirements that artists must adhere to.

The early morning recording sessions and pre-recording schedules often force artists to perform at odd hours, disrupting their sleep patterns and affecting their overall well-being. Taeyeon’s reluctance to participate in such practices reflects a broader sentiment within the industry, where artists increasingly prioritize their health and artistic integrity over traditional promotional methods.

Moreover, Taeyeon’s decision to focus on alternative forms of content to promote her music speaks to the changing landscape of the K-Pop industry. With the rise of social media and digital platforms, artists have more opportunities to engage with their fans directly and showcase their creativity beyond the confines of traditional music shows.

Despite her absence from music show promotions, “To. X” enjoyed considerable success both domestically and internationally, demonstrating Taeyeon’s enduring popularity and the strength of her music. The song’s chart performance reflected the loyalty and support of her dedicated fanbase, who continued to show their love for her music despite the lack of traditional promotion.

Overall, Taeyeon’s decision to speak out against the shortcomings of the music show system sparked important conversations about the welfare of artists and the need for industry-wide reform. As the K-Pop industry continues to evolve, it is crucial for stakeholders to address these concerns and create a more sustainable and artist-friendly environment for all involved.

SONEs are buzzing with excitement as SNSD’s Taeyeon has announced that she’ll be releasing her long-awaited fifth mini-album To. X

On Monday, November 6, Taeyeon treated her fans to a sneak peek of what’s to come by releasing a teaser video for To. X.

In the short clip, the vocalist is seen portraying a character breaking up with a lover over a text message. “As much as I liked you, I tried to compromise for you. Now I’m saying goodbye. I’m gonna block you,” the text from the teaser read.

Accompanied by this heart-wrenching message are artistic photographs of an apartment in disarray. On the first teaser alone, fans are already promised an emotional narrative. Moreover, fans are already anticipating the topic of the songs and the album’s theme since the teasers already served as a visual metaphor for a bad breakup.

Aside from the teaser, the SNSD member also released an artistic comeback scheduler. Arranged like a series of photos, the artist appeared to be pondering on whether to “delete all memories and reset them all.” Notably, Taeyeon will be releasing highlight clips, teasers, and samplers before the official album’s release on November 27.

Moreover, To. X will serve as the artist’s first comeback in more than a year and a half. Her second full-length album, INVU,  was released in February 2022.

Since February 2023, the agency SM Entertainment has been hinting that Taeyeon will make a solo comeback. At first, they said that the new offering from the SNSD star will be out by April. However, these plans were postponed, leaving fans eagerly waiting for the highly-anticipated album.

GIRLS’ GENERATION Hyoyeon Reveals How She Deals With Malicious Comments

Hyo is no stranger to criticism. After all, the GIRLS’ GENERATION member has been criticized for most of her career as an idol. But how does Hyoyeon manage to ignore all the malicious comments? The “Picture” singer has opened up about the best way to deal with haters.

GIRLS’ GENERATION Member Hyoyeon Opens Up About Dealing With Malicious Comments

Cosmopolitan Korea recently conducted an insightful interview with GIRLS’ GENERATION’s Hyoyeon following her successful solo comeback. During the interview, Hyo discussed how she maintains a positive attitude despite all the criticisms she has faced.

“I think the occupation of being a celebrity makes even the most optimistic person view themselves in a negative light,” she said. “Even for me – in my earlier days, right after I debuted – I thought I would only receive love, but I received a lot of criticism and attacks instead.

“I thought I only had to show myself to the public after training for seven years, but people were too busy leaving malicious comments about me,” she continued. Hyoyeon then admitted that this was a difficult period but she found a way to deal with it.

“During that time, I rode my bike a lot,” Hyo continued. “I would wake up at 6 in the morning, and ride along the Han River, watching the birds fly. I would come back, have breakfast, and then go for my schedule. I think that was a wise choice.

“Luckily, my innate personality is quite simple, and I tend to filter out things that aren’t helpful,” she added. “So I decided to think ‘They don’t have good taste.'”

Hyo concluded with helpful advice for her fans. “You need to think about the bad things for just a short time and dwell on the good things for a long time. It’s about focusing on what’s important. So, I only remember the enjoyable things,” she said.

This is great advice indeed and we’re glad Hyo knows how to deal with malicious comments. With that in mind, fans are looking forward to more of her positive attitude in her next comebacks.

Hyoyeon Discusses Relationship With Other GIRLS’ GENERATION Members

GIRLS’ GENERATION’s Hyoyeon recently offered an unfiltered glimpse into the current dynamics among the group’s members. HYO, who made her comeback with the single “Picture,” appeared on KBS CoolFM’s “Lee Eun Ji’s Music Plaza” on August 29. During her visit, she shared intriguing insights about her career and addressed listener questions.

Hyoyeon Talks About The Difficulties of Communicating With Other GIRLS’ GENERATION Members

One fan inquired about how her fellow group members reacted to her new single, leading Hyoyeon to candidly illuminate the group’s real dynamic. She disclosed that, in reality, they don’t closely monitor each other’s individual schedules due to their incredibly busy lives. This makes it nearly impractical to keep constant tabs on one another.

The revelation sheds light on the challenges of maintaining close connections within a highly active and dynamic group like GIRLS’ GENERATION, where each member is pursuing their individual endeavors. HYO’s candid response provides valuable insight into the realities of maintaining strong bonds within a large, busy group.

Interestingly, Hyoyeon admitted she has yet to hear from the other members of the group since her single’s release.

“This time, while preparing for my solo song, I didn’t say anything to them,” she told the host. “After the song was released, I told them it came out asked them to promote it, but there was no feedback… I met one of the members yesterday, and they said it was very cool.”

It may sound cold but the members of GIRLS’ GENERATION are clearly busy with their own schedules. Although it means they don’t bond like other groups, there is little doubt that their friendship is forever.

Hyoyeon also revealed that she doesn’t do a lot when she isn’t promoting as a solo artist. “During my off-season, I am just like anyone else – I even wear the same clothes for five days straight,” Hyoyeon said.

HYO’s new single “Picture” was released on August 22, 2023.

GIRLS GENERATION’s Sooyoung on Decision To Pursue Acting Career

GIRLS GENERATION member Sooyoung is opening up about her successful career shift. The former SM Entertainment talent has been pursuing an acting career after leaving her original agency. But does this present a dilemma for Choi Soo-young? The “Winter Breath” singer has opened up about her decision to make the move to acting and how it affected her career.

Sooyoung on Balancing GIRLS GENERATION With Acting Career

Sports Chosun, a prominent media outlet, recently conducted an insightful interview with GIRLS GENERATION’s Sooyoung. This engaging conversation, dated August 24, 2023, delved deep into various aspects of her acting career.

Sooyoung’s transition into the acting industry following her remarkable tenure in the nation’s top idol group, GIRLS GENERATION, has been widely recognized. For numerous idols who embark on an acting career, shedding their idol image can be a challenging feat. There’s often a prevailing bias against idol-actors. During the interview, an intriguing question was posed: whether she felt any constraints as an actor, given her firmly established image as a member of the girl group.

Interestingly, Choi Soo-young gave her answer a lot of thought and her response was intriguing.

“I’ve never thought about ever breaking up GIRLS’ GENERATION and leaving. GIRLS’ GENERATION’s existence is akin to my own skin,” she said. “It is a matter of my own skills and competitive edge, for the audience to not be reminded of GIRLS GENERATION as I promote as an actor.”

“I think that this isn’t a question of the essence,” Choi continued. “Although I am working on acting projects as Choi Sooyoung, I cannot change the fact that I’ve been living as part of GIRLS’ GENERATION continuously. There’s nothing to change about this in fact. It’s not something that I have to escape from. If GIRLS GENERATION becomes a weight for me to bear as an actor, then I think that my own skills are lacking.

Choi Soo-young began her acting career by working on variety shows. She made her acting debut in “Hello, Schoolgirl” in 2008. Since then, she appeared in TV shows like “The Third Hospital”, “Run On”, and “If You Wish Upon Me.” Sooyoung also appeared in films like “Girl Cops” and “New Year Blues.”
