HyunA’s Agency Issues Warning Against Malicious Posts

HyunA’s agency has issued a stern warning to perpetrators of malicious behavior targeting the artist’s reputation in an official statement released on April 3. AT AREA, in response to the proliferation of false information, malicious defamation, slander, and sexual harassment directed towards HyunA, asserted its commitment to taking decisive legal action against such actions.

In their statement, AT AREA emphasized their proactive stance in monitoring and investigating malicious online content aimed at their artists. They highlighted the recent surge in malicious posts targeting HyunA, expressing their determination to address and combat these harmful acts. The agency underscored the seriousness of the situation, emphasizing that they would pursue all available legal avenues, including civil and criminal actions, through their legal representatives at Shinwon Law Firm.

“We are strengthening our monitoring and investigating while also carefully reviewing reports submitted by fans. We will consider and pursue all possible legal actions, both civil and criminal, through Shinwon Law Firm against anyone who undermines and damages the artist’s reputation,” it read.

The agency also expressed gratitude towards fans for their unwavering support and encouraged them to continue reporting any instances of malicious behavior or false information. They assured fans that reports submitted through the designated channels would be carefully reviewed and considered for further action. Additionally, AT AREA provided fans with an email address ([info@atareaofficial.com]) for reporting purposes, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining open communication with supporters.

AT AREA concluded their statement by reaffirming their dedication to protecting HyunA and ensuring her well-being amidst the challenges posed by malicious online activities. Ex-BEAST’s Yong Junhyung Confirms Relationship With HyunA

On January 18, soloist HyunA and ex-BEAST member Yong Junhyung caused a stir online after posting photos of themselves holding hands on their personal Instagram accounts.

At the time, the two didn’t provide additional information about their relationship. However, HyunA’s caption using a lovely emoticon, and her comment saying “please look at us kindly” raised speculations among fans that the two stars have started a romantic relationship.

 

In response to the circulating issue, HyunA and Junhyung’s respective agencies — AT AREA and BLACK MADE simply stated that it is difficult for both companies to confirm anything as it is the artists’ personal lives.

But after a few days, Junhyung has personally confirmed their relationship in a written message to fans. Through the fan community platform fromm, the singer asked that their fans support their relationship.

“We’re doing well, bringing positive energy to each other,” he wrote, according to a translation by Koreaboo. 

Relationship timeline

Even before the confirmation, K-pop fans have expressed their respective thoughts regarding the possibility of the two singers dating. A few have speculated that the photo may only be for an upcoming collaboration. Meanwhile, the majority of fans, especially of HyunA, have posted negative opinions about it.

For those who don’t know, HyunA and Junhyung were once labelmates in CUBE Entertainment. To recall, the “Bubble Pop!” singer previously debuted under the agency as a member of Wonder Girls in 2007, and then re-debuted in 4minute in 2009. 

On the other hand, Junhyung first set foot into K-Pop as a member of the boy group BEAST in 2009. They later left CUBE and reorganized themselves as HIGHLIGHT in 2017. Remarkably, the two stars first teamed up in HyunA’s solo debut track “Change”, which was released in 2010.

Prior to Junhyung, HyunA was in a relationship with former PENTAGON member and soloist DAWN from 2016 to 2022. Notably, HyunA and DAWN were also labelmates in CUBE Entertainment and even did sub-unit activities under Triple H. In 2018, the two left the agency after going public with their relationship. 

Moreover, HyunA and DAWN got engaged in February 2022, but announced their split in November the same year. 

Fans’ mixed opinions on HyunA and Junhyung being together

With the rumors that the two idols are dating, fans have shared their disappointment on social media. To recall, Junhyung was publicly scrutinized in the past for his involvement in the infamous Burning Sun scandal in South Korea.

The said scandal uncovered several crimes happening in the entertainment industry, particularly cases of prostitution, drug trafficking, and corruption. Numerous celebrities including BIGBANG’s Seungri were involved in the controversy.

During that time, Junhyung was also criticized after admitting to being part of a Burning Sun group chat. Although claiming that he never participated in filming inappropriate videos, the singer received backlash for being an enabler. Following the issue, Junhyung left HIGHLIGHT in 2019.

Considering Junhyung’s background, netizens were surprised to see HyunA’s association with him. Especially since the “I’m Not Cool” singer has been actively speaking for women’s empowerment and rights.

With this, fans have shared their disapproval of the two idols’ relationship on social media.

HyunA Signs Contract With AT AREA

Singer HyunA is set to embark on a new chapter in her career as she inked a contract with agency AT AREA. 

On Monday, November 6, the label confirmed to Korean media that the idol is now under their artist roster. “We will support HyunA in expanding her musical spectrum while she tries new music and performances,” they said. 

Notably, this move marks a significant development for the artist as it serves her return to an agency more than a year. She hasn’t been under any agency since she departed from in August 2022.

AT AREA, an agency founded in 2021 by the music production duo GroovyRoom, is home to a diverse roster of artists. Among their artists include GEMINI, Mirani, BLASÉ, and even HyunA’s ex-boyfriend and fellow solo artist, DAWN. 

Given the history between HyunA and DAWN, fans couldn’t help but wonder if the female artist signed with AT AREA because of her former flame. 

But the agency was quick to address the rumors, clarifying that the professional move does not indicate a romantic rekindling between the two stars. “DAWN was not the reason she signed with us,” the agency explained. They also added that the two being labelmates doesn’t mean that they’re “back together.”

Moreover, the ex-couple maintained their friendship despite splitting in November 2022. The two had a six-year relationship and even got engaged in February 2022. 

What’s next for HyunA under AT AREA?

Additionally, the move to AT AREA t came on the heels of a teaser that the singer dropped on Sunday, November 5.

In a surprise announcement, she released a trailer titled “This is HyunA’s ________” through her official YouTube channel. It left fans abuzz with speculation about what she might have in store for them with this exciting new project.

Also following the confirmation of the artist’s move to AT AREA, the agency released performance videos of HyunA’s new song titled “ATTITUDE.” 

 

For those unaware, HyunA first made her debut in 2007 as a member of the iconic girl group Wonder Girls. However, her time with the group was short-lived, and she left them the same year. In 2009, she re-emerged on the K-pop scene as a member of the highly popular girl group 4Minute. 

Yet, it was her solo career, which began in 2010, that truly catapulted her to stardom. Throughout her solo career, HyunA delivered chart-topping hits like “Bubble Pop” in 2011, “Ice Cream” in 2012, and “Lip & Hip” in 2017. 

Now that she’s under AT AREA, fans are looking forward to the next move of this talented artist.

DAWN Says He Is Still ‘In Love With HyunA’

DAWN took part in the 1theK Original’s “Look Me Up” where he opened up about his relationship with HyunA. Although they have broken up in November, the “Money” rapper confirmed they continue to be supportive of each other’s careers.

“We will support each other no matter what kind of choice is made,” DAWN said. “Even now and at that time, I wanted to fully respect her choice and support her by pressing ‘Like’ (on the Instagram post announcing their breakup).”

HyunA confirmed her break up with DAWN in an emotional Instagram post in November 2022. Still, the former PENTAGON member confessed that he loves his ex-girlfriend dearly.

“I’m the same actually,” DAWN replied when asked if he still loves the former WONDER GIRLS member.

“Whether I break up with HyunA or get back with her, it doesn’t matter what we are, I just love HyunA as a person,” he added. “So, even if we take totally different paths and end up with other people in the future, I’ll still be in love with HyunA.”

DAWN further explained their rumored engagement, stating that it was a misunderstanding.

“We were not planning to get married or anything. I didn’t propose to her to get married,” he said. “It was just because I like her so much. Of course, I had the idea that she would be the person I marry if I get married in the future but at that time, I just wanted to give her a ring. I just wanted to.”

He continued, “Common sense is that if you give someone a ring, you’re engaged, it’s natural. But I’m actually lacking common sense.”

DAWN’s new single “Dear My Light” was released on April 13, 2023.
