Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Injured in Knife Attack at Theater

Kyuhyun has just been confirmed to be involved in the apprehension of a woman attempting a knife attack. The Super Junior member was reportedly injured during the incident that took place in a music theater in Seoul.

On November 20, concerning news emerged regarding Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, who reportedly sustained an injury while intervening in an alarming incident. TV Chosun reported that the previous day, a woman in her 30s intruded into the dressing room of a musical theater in Seoul, wielding a weapon. She targeted an actor, and in the process of restraining her, Kyuhyun, who was present on-site, suffered a minor abrasion on his finger.

Responding to the reports, Kyuhyun’s agency, Antenna, provided an update, stating that the singer was promptly treated at the scene for the minor injury. The agency assured fans that Kyuhyun’s well-being is a priority, and he received immediate attention to address the situation.

“Kyuhyun suffered a minor abrasion on his finger and was treated immediately at the scene,” the statement read.

The Seoul Gangseo Police Station also swiftly took action, arresting the assailant on charges of special intimidation. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the details surrounding the incident and the motive behind the attack.

Fans and well-wishers are expressing their concern for Kyuhyun’s safety and sending messages of support for his speedy recovery. The incident also highlights the challenges and unexpected situations that public figures may face, even in seemingly secure environments, emphasizing the importance of security measures and the need for a swift response to ensure the safety of individuals involved.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Reveals New Fan Club Name, Logo

Kyuhyun of K-pop powerhouse Super Junior has reached a significant milestone in his career by unveiling a fresh fan club name and logo following his recent affiliation with his new agency, Antenna

On Wednesday, November 15, the artist revealed that his newly christened fan club will be named “KYUpiter.” Furthermore, the name drew inspiration from the majestic Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system. 

According to the explanation, the choice symbolizes Kyuhyun’s “radiant presence as a multi-talented artist, whether as a ballad singer, K-pop group member, musical actor, or entertainer.” 

Moreover, the name also serves as a reminder of the special bond between the artist and the fans. As the agency urged fans to continue safeguarding Kyuhyun, much like how “Jupiter safeguards the Solar System from asteroids.” 

Alongside the fan club revelation is a distinctive artist logo that features a vintage, stamped texture. Notably, the design aims to reflect the depth of Kyuhyun’s musical prowess. “Please remember this special bond between the artist and fans whenever you say ‘Kyupiter,’” the staff added. 

An eventful 2023 for Kyuhyun 

These developments  came after the artist moved to another agency. 

In August, Kyuhyun inked a deal with his new agency, Antenna, marking a significant change in his career. At the time, the agency expressed its commitment to actively support the artist’s  diverse range of activities. Additionally, Antenna also urged fans to extend their love and support to the artist as he embarks on this fresh start.

Founded by singer-songwriter Yoo Hee Yeol, Antenna serves as the home for a diverse array of artists. Among their roster of artists include Lee Hyori, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Sang Soon, Kwon Jin Ah, Mijoo, and more

Prior to moving to Antenna, Kyuhyun, who made his debut as a member of Super Junior in 2006, departed from SM Entertainment in July, concluding a 17-year association with the company. Notably, fellow Super Junior members Donghae and Eunhyuk also parted ways with SM Entertainment. Despite these changes, Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun have affirmed their commitment to continuing promoting as members of Super Junior.

As a solo artist, Kyuhyun, released his solo debut mini-album At Gwanghwamun in 2016. 

Beyond his music endeavors, he has showcased his talents in various musicals and as a host on variety programs.

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Signs With Antenna

Kyuhyun of K-pop boy group Super Junior is marking a new era in his career as he inked an exclusive contract with Antenna. 

The label released a welcoming post for the idol-host on Monday, August 7. 

“With sentimental music and delightful wit,  he’s excelled as an entertainer in various fields,” they wrote. 

 

Antenna added: “Together, we’ll paint the world with vibrant colors and create unforgettable moments.”

They also released a video of Kyuhyun being welcomed by the staff members of Antenna. 

 

A representative from the agency shared that they’re looking forward to having Kyuhyun under their roster of artists. 

“We plan on actively supporting Kyuhyun’s wide breadth of activities in various ways, so please show lots of support for Kyuhyun who is standing at a new starting line,” they said in a press release. 

Kyuhyun, who made his debut as a member of Super Junior in 2006, left SM Entertainment in July after 17 years. 

Aside from Kyuhyun, Donghae and Eunhyuk also parted ways with SM Entertainment. On the other hand, Donghae and Eunhyuk, who also promotes as the Super Junior sub-unit D&E, are rumored to establish their own talent agency. However, there’s still no confirmation about it, as of writing. 

Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun said that they will still promote as members of Super Junior moving forward.

Kyuhyun made his debut as a solo artist in 2014 with the mini-album At Gwanghwamun. He also starred in various musicals and hosted variety programs. 

Meanwhile, Antenna is an agency founded by singer-songwriter Yoo Hee Yeol. It is home to artists like Lee Hyori, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Sang Soon, Kwon Jin Ah, Mijoo, and more.
