On December 5, ONE HUNDRED announced that an amicable agreement had been reached with IST Entertainment over trademark rights to THE BOYZ’s name. The resolution came after a public dispute sparked concerns among fans about the group’s future identity.

“Today (December 5), through a meeting with IST Entertainment, we amicably came to a mutual agreement about the use of the ‘THE BOYZ’ trademark and three major points of discussion,” the statement read. “After resolving our past misunderstandings and opening up in an honest conversation, our company and IST Entertainment came to an agreement that can make everyone happy while prioritizing the members of THE BOYZ and their fans, The B.”

“We would also like to sincerely thank IST Entertainment, who came to this discussion with an open mind,” it added. “We would like to thank The B and the IST Entertainment family, who have walked THE BOYZ’s path together with them for the past seven years, and we ask for your continued interest and loving support in the future as well.”

Following the expiration of their exclusive contracts with IST Entertainment on the same day, all 11 members of THE BOYZ will officially transition to ONE HUNDRED, a new agency co-founded by renowned artist MC Mong and p_Arc Group chairwoman Cha Ga Won.

ONE HUNDRED operates alongside its affiliate labels Big Planet Made—home to notable artists such as Lee Seung Gi and SHINee’s Taemin—and INB100, which represents EXO members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin. The impressive roster of artists associated with ONE HUNDRED has heightened anticipation for THE BOYZ’s next chapter under this new management.

THE BOYZ, known for hits like “The Stealer”, “MAVERICK”, and “ROAR”, have consistently dazzled fans with their powerful performances and diverse music. According to reports on September 23, THE BOYZ is actively searching for a new agency, with their current focus on finding a company that aligns with their artistic direction and offers a more transparent system. The report also mentioned that the group is committed to remaining intact as a full team and that discussions are in the final stages with one particular agency.

While fans are eager for more updates on the group’s future, IST Entertainment has responded to the rumors by stating, “THE BOYZ’s exclusive contract has not yet expired. We plan to continue discussions with the members.” This leaves the door open for possible negotiations and discussions between the group and their current agency.

IST ENTERTAINMENT, the group’s agency, announced that Jacob had been experiencing headaches and neck pain, which prompted the decision. To prioritize his well-being, the agency explained that Jacob would receive detailed medical examinations and treatment upon returning to Korea after the concert.

“IST ENTERTAINMENT would like to hereby inform you regarding the health status and schedule of THE BOYZ member Jacob,” the statement read. “Unfortunately, Jacob will be seated while performing during THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR : ZENERATION Ⅱ IN Kuala Lumpur due to headaches and neck pain.

Upon his return to Korea, he will undergo detailed examinations and treatment,” it added. “We sincerely apologize for causing concerns with such news.” 

The ZENERATION II Tour

The Kuala Lumpur concert is part of THE BOYZ’s third world tour, “ZENERATION II,” which began in Seoul in July and has since made its way through numerous major cities. Starting with a three-day concert in Seoul from July 12 to 14, the tour has taken the group to various U.S. cities, including New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Jose. From there, THE BOYZ continued their tour in Asia with performances in Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and Macau before arriving in Kuala Lumpur on September 7.

The tour will continue with upcoming shows in Paris on September 13 and London on September 15. Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of additional dates and locations, as teased by the “AND MORE” message on the official tour poster.

“ZENERATION II” follows the massive success of THE BOYZ’s previous world tour, “ZENERATION,” which spanned 13 cities and further cemented the group’s popularity on the global stage. Fans are thrilled to see the group’s return to international touring, and despite Jacob’s temporary health issue, the group’s Kuala Lumpur concert is still expected to be a highlight of the tour.

Look: The Boyz’ Juyeon Attends the 2024 NBA All-Star Game as a Fashion Ambassador

The basketball fanboy is now living his fanboy dreams! On February 19, Juyeon of the K-pop boy group THE BOYZ attended the 2023 NBA All-Star Game as an NBA Fashion Ambassador. 

To his fans, Juyeon is known as an avid fan of basketball. Now, the idol had the chance to watch the main games, attend events such as fashion content shooting and exclusive interviews related to the sport. 

In a statement, Juyeon, through his agency IST Entertainment, relayed his gratitude on getting the invitation. “Thank you very much for inviting me to the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. It’s an honor to be able to see the great game with my own eyes,” the singer said.

For those who don’t know, THE BOYZ was selected as the official ambassador for NBA Style Korea in September 2023. Recently, THE BOYZ members Jacob, Kevin, Eric and Juyeon were also invited to watch a Lakers game a few days before the All Star Weekend.

 

 

A dream come true for Juyeon

As most of THE BOYZ fans would know, Juyeon has been very vocal and transparent with being a basketball fan. Knowing that it is his dream to witness the NBA idols play live, Deobis, the group’s fanbase, are extremely happy for the idol’s achievement.

On his personal Instagram account, Juyeon, sharing his exciting experience, revealed that his phone wallpaper has been a picture of Kobe Bryant for years. After watching the Los Angeles Lakers game where Lebron James showed a jaw-dropping performance, Juyeon wrote in his caption: “Yesterday I saw a similar photo of another legend and I was there.”

Aside from watching on the courtsides, Juyeon also had the opportunity to meet a number of NBA stars including Jaylen Rose and Jackson Hayes. Moreover, he even played a mini shooting game with the veteran player Pau Gasol

Wrapping up his dream-come-true moment, the idol posted a couple of his photos of his experience. In his caption, he wrote: “It was an honor to be at the All Star Weekend.”

Meanwhile, NBA Korea’s Tiktok account also shared a compilation of clips from the event. In the comments section, the THE BOYZ member wrote: “I had such a good time during the All Star Weekend. It doesn’t feel like work, it feels like I came to have fun.”

THE BOYZ’ Sunwoo Diagnosed With Neuralgia and Neuritis

Amid THE BOYZ’ promotional activities for their latest EP Sixth Sense, member Sunwoo is grappling with the hurdles of neuralgia and neuritis. 

On Friday, November 24, THE BOYZ agency IST Entertainment provided an update on Sunwoo’s health condition, as well as his involvement in the group’s comeback promotions. 

According to the label, the idol complained of neck and shoulder pain on the morning of November 24. Although the initial plan was to promptly take him to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment, Sunwoo expressed a strong desire to participate in THE BOYZ‘ performance on the day’s episode of Music Bank.” In light of his wish, IST Entertainment decided to transport him to the hospital after the pre-recording.

Later that evening, the agency issued a statement revealing that following the hospital visit, Sunwoo had received a diagnosis of neuralgia and neuritis affecting the neck and shoulders. 

According to HealthDirect, neuralgia, or nerve pain, “occurs when a health condition affects the nerves that carry sensations to the brain.” Meanwhile, neuritis is the inflammation of one or more nerves, according to Brittanica

Despite medical advice recommending restraint from excessive movements,  IST Entertainment says that  Sunwoo wants to continue participating in THE BOYZ’ activities.

 

 “As Sunwoo expressed strong determination to take part in album promotions, we chose to respect the artist’s opinion. And it was decided that he would continue activities insofar as he can without overexerting himself,” the agency said. 

Moreover, the label said that the idol will undergo continuous treatment so that his condition will not worsen.

Fans express worry for THE BOYZ’ Sunwoo 

Although IST Entertainment promises fans that they will put their artist’s health as their top priority, fans couldn’t help but worry for the well-being of THE BOYZ. 

In particular, Sunwoo also had to take a hiatus from group activities due to health difficulties in August 2022. At the time, the agency said that the idol had “complained of health difficulties and worsening of his condition.” 

Meanwhile, Ju Haknyeon also recently announced his hiatus due to back injury. According to IST Entertainment, the idol has been experiencing back pain for some time, and his condition has recently aggravated. With this, Ju Haknyeon won’t be able to participate in THE BOYZ’ promotional activities for Sixth Sense, as well as the group’s world tour. 

Now that two members of THE BOYZ are experiencing body discomfort, fans are expressing their concern for the group’s welfare.

THE BOYZ’s Ju Haknyeon Goes on Hiatus Due to Back Injury

Ju Haknyeon is taking a temporary hiatus from activities due to a back injury. Unfortunately, this means that the idol will be unable to participate in THE BOYZ’s upcoming comeback this month.

On November 16, IST Entertainment shared a statement regarding Ju Haknyeon’s condition. The agency revealed that Ju Haknyeon had been experiencing back pain for some time, and the condition had recently aggravated. Following a medical examination, he was diagnosed with disc stenosis in the lower back, a condition that can result in pain or cramping in one or both legs.

“Ju Haknyeon has been suffering from back pain for a while now, so he has been periodically undergoing examination and treatment. However, because the pain recently worsened, he visited a hospital this afternoon on November 16 and underwent an additional thorough exam and treatment. The doctor advised him due to symptoms of disc stenosis in his lower back, he needs to avoid large movements and watch over his condition through medical treatment and physical rehabilitation,” the statement read.

In light of his back injury, Ju Haknyeon will be taking a break from all activities, including THE BOYZ’s upcoming comeback scheduled for November 20 and their concerts planned for December. The announcement was accompanied by a statement expressing the agency’s commitment to prioritizing Ju Haknyeon’s health and well-being during this period.

“He will not be participating in promotions for ‘The Boyz 2nd Album [Phantasy] Pt.2 SIxth Sense‘, which is scheduled to be released on November 20 or The Boyz’ ‘2nd World Tour: Zeneration – Encore‘ concert,” the statement confirmed.

Fans of THE BOYZ have shown support for Ju Haknyeon, expressing concern for his health and wishing him a swift recovery. The news underscores the physical toll that the demanding schedules and rigorous performances in the K-pop industry can have on artists, highlighting the importance of addressing health concerns promptly. The Boyz to return with ‘Sixth Sense’

Mark your calendars, DEOBIS! K-pop boy group The Boyz is returning with new music on November 20 through Sixth Sense. 

On Wednesday, October 25, IST Entertainment confirmed that The Boyz is gearing up for their comeback. 

“They will start their comeback by releasing Sixth Sense, the second part of their second full-length album PHANTASY,” the agency said in a press release

Notably, this will mark The Boyz’ first comeback in three months following the release of Christmas in August. To recall, Christmas in August, which carries the title track “Lip Gloss,” served as the first part of the group’s PHANTASY trilogy. 

Other details about Sixth Sense, such as its title track, concept photos, and number of songs, have yet to be released. 

But it can be recalled that The Boyz have earlier released posters for their PHANTASY trilogy. In which, the poster for Sixth Sense featured a drive-in theater. Moreover, it had a different vibe and concept as to the beach featured in the poster for Christmas in August. 

The Boyz’ PHANTASY trilogy

In July, IST Entertainment first revealed that the group’s second full-length album PHANTASY will be divided into three parts. 

Additionally, they noted that the three installments will all be released by the second half of 2023. The first part, Christmas in August, was released in August. 

As for its third installment, it will be titled Love Letter. For its sequence poster, Love Letter featured a field of snow. However, there’s no additional details yet about the third installment. 

PHANTASY serves as The Boyz’s first full-length album in more than three years following REVEAL, which was released in February 2020. As for their latest release prior to PHANTASY, it was the February 2023 mini-album BE AWAKE. 

Initially a 12-member boy group, The Boyz made their debut in December 2017. However, Hwall left in October 2019 due to health reasons. 

Currently, the group is composed of Sangyeon, Jacob, Hyunjae, Younghoon, Kevin, Juyeon, New, Q, Sunwoo, Ju Haknyeon, and Eric. 

In between the releases for the group’s PHANTASY installments, The Boyz is also embarking on their second world tour ZENERATION.
