Pre-Orders for TXT’s ‘The Name Chapter: Freefall’ Reach 2.35m Copies

With over a month left till their much-anticipated comeback, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) is already making waves in the music industry. On September 8, BIGHIT MUSIC announced that TXT had shattered their personal record for stock pre-orders in a mere eight days. The agency said in a statement, “Eight days after pre-orders opened, TXT’s third full-length album The Name Chapter: FREEFALL reached 2.35 million stock pre-orders.”

This achievement is noteworthy as the album surpassed the 2.34 million stock pre-orders of TXT’s previous release, The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, in just over a week. With five weeks still to go before the album’s official release, fans and industry experts alike are excited to see how much higher these numbers will climb.

Stock pre-orders represent the estimated album demand, calculated using various factors, including the number of albums pre-ordered by fans. It’s a testament to the group’s growing popularity and the anticipation surrounding their new music.

What can we expect from The Name Chapter: FREEFALL?

So, what can fans expect from The Name Chapter: FREEFALL? The members have hinted that the closing track of their previous release, “Farewell Neverland,” provides significant clues. The lyrics “Neverland my love, I bid you goodbye and I’m free-falling” suggest a potential indie-rock influence. If this is the direction TXT is heading, fans are in for a treat.

Details about the album’s different versions have also been revealed. Fans can choose from three standard editions: Clarity, Melancholy, and Reality. Additionally, there are Gravity member versions and two Weverse versions. Interestingly, these details have been shared without a single concept photo being released, further fueling the excitement.

A collaboration with Anitta

As part of their comeback strategy, TXT has announced a collaboration with Brazilian pop sensation Anitta titled “Back for More.” Anitta recently shared several behind-the-scenes details, revealing her trip to South Korea to possibly film a music video with TXT. She confirmed that the song has full choreography, which she described as challenging. The members of TXT have expressed their love for the track, with Soobin even telling fans it might be his favorite.

The world will get a first taste of this collaboration at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, where TXT and Anitta will premiere the song. With the album set to drop on October 13 at 1:00 PM KST, the countdown has truly begun. Fans worldwide are eagerly waiting to dive into the musical journey that TXT has prepared with The Name Chapter: FREEFALL. – K-Pop News Writer

Watch: DAY6’s Young K Comforts Fans With ‘Letters With Notes’

Rejoice, My Days! Young K of K-pop band DAY6 made his highly-anticipated solo comeback with Letters with Notes on Monday, September 4.

Alongside his first full-length solo album Letters with Notes, Young K also released the music video for the album’s title track “nothing but.” Said song is an emotional rock ballad about love.

In the “nothing but” music video, the DAY6’s bassist and vocalist acted with labelmate TWICE’s Dahyun. The two portrayed a couple who is on the verge of breaking up.

Prior to the release of the album, the singer also treated fans with two pre-release tracks: “waited and let it be summer.” Moreover, let it be summer” saw Young K playing his guitar all over beautiful sceneries in its official music video.

Eight more tracks make up Letters with Notes. These include dreamer,” “bungee jumping,” “natural,” “STRANGE,” “SOUL,” “playground,” “babo” and “what is..”

Young K as a solo artist

Undoubtedly, this album proved Young K’s exceptional talent as a musical artist as he took part in composing and writing lyrics for all 11 tracks.

“My mentor, composer Hong Ji-sang, always tells me that I have to make an improvement or at least a change. So I took a stab at many different things this time, trying to pull off diverse genres of music, while writing more metaphorical lyrics.” the singer said in an interview with The Korea Times.

He also hoped the album can deliver diverse emotions to listeners. “It will be great if it can bring comfort, joy, or something else that they can resonate with… If they can feel something from my music, then that will be enough,” he added.

Additionally, Young K, who released his debut mini album Eternal in September 2021, will also perform on the international stage.

It was announced on DAY6’s social media accounts that Young K will be having his solo concerts in Jakarta and Bangkok this October and December, respectively.

Moreover, fans have truly waited a long time for Young K’s solo comeback in the music scene. Letters with Notes is even more special as it is the singer’s first release since he was discharged from military service in April.

When he enlisted, Young K became the first K-pop idol to join the Korean Augmentation to the United States Army (KATUSA), which apparently only recruits about 2,000 men each year.

Shortly after his discharge, he returned as the radio program DJ of Kiss the Radio all while preparing for his album. Young K was the DJ for the show from November 2020 to October 2021.

Look: Fantasy Boys Drops Promo Schedule for ‘New Tomorrow’

Mark your calendars because upcoming rookie group FANTASY BOYS is gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated debut album NEW TOMORROW.

On Monday, August 28, the boy group unveiled its timetable for their first mini-album. According to the scheduler, they will be releasing various concept photos, track list, and music video teasers.

They will also have a special performance on September 16 as a treat to their fans. However, details about this supposed special day have not been disclosed.

All activities will lead up to the group’s debut showcase on September 21. Meanwhile, preorders for the album NEW TOMORROW begins on September 1.

In addition to the timetable, FANTASY BOYS also shared a still-cut from their music video, showing the 11 members posing by the beach.

Other details, such as the number of tracks and title song, about NEW TOMORROW have yet to be disclosed.

Initially a 12-member group, FANTASY BOYS was formed through an MBC global audition program.

However, Pocketdol Studios recently announced that leader Yu Jun Won would no longer debut with the group.

Now, FANTASY BOYS is only made up of members Hikari, Hikaru, Hong Sung Min, Kaeden, Kang Min Seo, Kim Gyu Rae, Kim Woo Seok, KSoul, Lee Han Bin, Lingqi, and Oh Hyeon Tae

Yu Jun Won’s departure from FANTASY BOYS

On August 23, Pocketdol Studios revealed that Yu Jun Won is no longer part of FANTASY BOYS’ lineup.

According to the agency, Jun Won has been removed from the group due to his “unauthorized departure.” The label added that the idol’s parents also requested to modify the contract several times.

However, the artist also aired his own sentiments, saying that Pocketdol Studios lied about certain matters in their statement.

According to Jun Won, instead of editing some unfavorable clauses in the contract, Pocketdol Studios instead attempted to force an agreement after adding more ridiculous demands.

Because of this, Jun Won reasoned out that he has lost trust with the company. And it was this that made him decide not to continue his relationship with PocketDol Studios. He said that although it’s his dream to debut as an idol, he can’t do that under the said agency.

Currently, the legal battle between the two sides continues even though the label tries to promote FANTASY BOYS’ debut. Meanwhile,  Jun Won has also called for entertainment agencies to treat their artists better and the practice of unfair contracts to be fixed.

Despite no longer pushing through with the group, Jun Won still asked fans to continue their support for the 11 members of FANTASY BOYS.

BTS’ j-hope Bares His Soul in Liner Notes for “Jack In the Box (HOPE Edition)”

In the liner notes for Jack In the Box (HOPE Edition), BTSj-hope gave fans an intimate glimpse into his heart and soul. “Rather than a ‘thanks to’, I think it’ll be more like a private conversation as well as a memoir of my own,” he shared, emphasizing the personal nature of these notes.

With military service on the horizon for several BTS members, individual projects became a natural progression, and j-hope was the first to step up. About a year ago, j-hope introduced Jack In the Box to the world. He recalls, “While taking a brief break from group activities, we started with the intent of showcasing each member’s unique musicality.”

A documentary on the album’s creation revealed the depth of j-hope‘s involvement. “Every aspect of its production went through my hands,” he stated, underscoring how personal the album is to him. While the digital release was intentional, he now admits, “In this area, regarding how you all viewed it and this system, I think I didn’t have thorough knowledge of everything.”

The fans’ comments resonated with j-hope. “Each time the members’ solos came out, I couldn’t help but hear your voices regarding a physical album,” he confessed. He didn’t want to disappoint ARMY, so he decided to give them what they wanted.

He didn’t want fans to resent “Jack in the Box”

“In fact, I could’ve left Jack In the Box as it was, but if it was an album and situation that became a resentment to you all, there couldn’t be anything more heartbreaking than that,” he wrote. “That is why, although belatedly, I ended up releasing a physical album. You will realize once you receive it, but you’ll be able to feel that my intentions of releasing a digital album are reflected in the physical album as well, even if it’s just a little bit.”

j-hope added, “Even if it’s not an incredible physical album, if this album that I cherish could safely reach your hearts, I think even now, a year later, we will still be able to feel the same passionate emotions we felt when the album was first released. That is why I prepared for it diligently, for all of you.”

Gratitude permeates j-hope‘s liner notes, although he did wonder whether he said too much. After all, the raw honesty in his words might seem too candid for an album. But he decided to include what he wrote in the liner notes anyway, because they’re a genuine reflection of his feelings. Clearly, the liner notes of Jack In the Box’s physical album are more than words on paper. They’re a testament to how much he loves and understands the fans.

He ended his liner notes with, “Thank you for supporting me and watching me with trust. I will study diligently and share even better music with you.” – K-Pop News Writer
