Doh Kyungsoo Admits Worries About Touring Without EXO Members

In a captivating feature for Harper’s Bazaar Korea, EXO’s Doh Kyung Soo, fondly known as D.O., delves into his highly anticipated solo venture, marking his first comeback since parting ways with SM Entertainment. With his solo mini album, ‘Blossom,’ set to release on May 7, anticipation reaches a crescendo as fans eagerly await his musical offerings. D.O.’s interview offers a glimpse into his creative process and the emotions intertwined with his solo debut, promising a captivating journey for listeners. In explaining the title ‘Blossom’, Doh said, “The album’s keyword is the subject matter from my experience that I wanted to talk about the most right now. After all, in our lives, we all grow one step at a time. We grow even as we feel pain, and we grow even when we’re struggling. I really wanted [this album] to be an opportunity for everyone who listens to it—and also for me—to become a bit sturdier.”

He then spoke about his upcoming solo fan tour, admitting his nervousness about going on his own. “Up until now, I’ve always promoted with my [fellow EXO] members, so I didn’t have many opportunities to stand on stage alone,” he explained. “During this fan-con tour of Asia, I’ll be singing multiple songs on my own. So I’m really nervous, but I’m also equally excited. When I see the eyes of my fans on stage, I gain a ton of energy. That huge energy I receive becomes my driving force.”

Doh also discussed the show “GBRB: Reap What You Sow” where he tried farming for the first time.

“When I saw the older man next door farming, it looked so easy,” he remarked, “but after briefly becoming a farmer, I realized that it was an amazing job that not anyone can do.”

He then added, “When I eat, I’m definitely not going to leave any perilla leaves or lettuce on the table [uneaten]. I’m also going to finish all my rice no matter what, without leaving any of it uneaten.”

D.O.’s mini album ‘Blossom’ will be released on May 7, 2024.
