ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo and Sanha Visit Moonbin’s New Memorial Site

Cha Eun Woo and Sanha continue to pay tribute to the late Moonbin. The ASTRO members have visited the “Mermaid Prince” star’s new memorial site in Namhansangseong. The duo would be the first people to see the new space where people can continue to honor Moon Bin’s memory.

Cha Eun Woo shared new photos and videos on his official Instagram account. The post also features fellow ASTRO member Sanha who seems lost in thought. The idols appear to be at the Namhansanseong Fortress where Moonbin’s new memorial site will be erected.

It’s yet another touching tribute to Moon Bin who passed away on April 19, 2023. It is also clear that Cha Eun Woo, Sanha, and the other members of ASTRO are still dealing with the loss.

On June 4, FANTAGIO confirmed that a new memorial site for Moonbin will be erected this week.

“We fully empathize with AROHA’s wishes to honor Moonbin a while longer,” the statement read. “Therefore, after long and careful discussion with the bereaved family, we have prepared an external memorial space so that AROHA who always send unsparing love can greet Moonbin for a little while longer.”

“Although Moonbin’s religion is not Buddhism, at the request of the bereaved family, we have prepared the “Moon’s Space” at an area in Gukcheongsa Temple at Namhansangseong, and [the memorial place] will run long-term starting from June 7, 2023, at 5:30 a.m. KST.”

“It may be very uncomfortable because the road to Gukcheongsa is uphill and narrow, but we sincerely hope that it becomes a space that AROHA can comfortably visit anytime and feel at least a little soothed and comforted.”

FANTAGIO Cautions AROHAs To Respect Moon Bin’s New Memorial Site

FANTAGIO also asked fans to be mindful of what they leave at the memorial site.

“We would be grateful if you please refrain from leaving food and floral tributes and [only leave] letters and notes,” the statement added.

“We fully understand that they are for Moonbin, but the Buddhist temple is located in the mountains, so it is difficult to preserve them intact due to insects and debris.”

The agency further shared that there is a plan to install a board so fans can attach notes. The letters will be collected regularly and stored properly.

Cha Eun Woo dropped a beautiful gift for fans as well as a beloved friend. The ASTRO member paid tribute to Moonbin in a touching cover of 10cm’s “Stalker”.

The new cover was uploaded on Cha Eun Woo’s official YouTube channel. In the video, the “True Beauty” actor delivers a beautiful rendition of the 10cm song “Stalker”.

Fans were quick to note that the song was chosen as a tribute to the late Moonbin. The “Mermaid Prince” actor had always loved “Stalker” and would constantly sing it. AROHAs also noted that the video was uploaded at 2:23 a.m. KST, or 2/23, which is ASTRO’s debut date.

Cha Eun Woo himself made sure people understood that he was paying tribute to Moon Bin. Before the video was posted, Lee Dongmin had shared several photos of Moonbin in his Instagram Story.

Not surprisingly, 10cm was pleased with Cha Eun Woo’s cover. Kwon Jungyeol’s official YouTube channel left a comment on the video.

“Thank you for the wonderful call,” they wrote. Cha Eun Woo immediately pinned the comment on the post.

Moonbin’s body was found in his home in Gangnam on April 19, 2023, at 8:10 PM KST. His funeral was a private event attended by family and friends. All members of ASTRO were present for the funeral.

Since Moonbin’s passing, ASTRO’s agency FANTAGIO has set up a memorial space on their building’s rooftop. Although it was initially set up in front of the building, the company decided to move the memorial space to a new location. This way, fans can continue to pay tribute to Moon Bin until the first week of June.

In related news, Cha Eun Woo was recently confirmed to be in negotiations to star in a new drama “Wonderful World”. He is expected to work alongside veteran actress Kim Nam Joo and Kim Kang Woo.

Back in April, ASTRO’s agency FANTAGIO opened a memorial space for Moon Bin after the “Mermaid Prince” star’s passing. Since then, Moonbin’s family and friends, as well as AROHAs, have left letters for the late idol.

Sanha had also left a letter for Moonbin urging his hyung to allow him to grieve his loss. However, fans who recently visited the memorial space discovered a new letter from Yoon San-ha. This time, the handwritten note is a message for AROHAs mourning his fellow ASTRO member.

“Aroha, it’s me Sanha! You guys must be having it hard and are very sad, right? Be as sad as you need, and then pull yourselves together,” he wrote.

“Rohas need to show their smiling selves for hyung to be happy. I’m doing well so don’t worry. Our arohas, be happy and healthy,” Sanha added.

It’s a sweet message that assures fans that although they can grieve, it is important to take care of themselves as well. Needless to say, Sanha understands AROHAs so well and is also supporting them in his own way.

Sanha was the other half of the ASTRO subunit Moonbin & Sanha that had been promoting their comeback right before Moon Bin’s passing. The “Boys Over Flowers” star was found dead in his apartment in Gangnam on April 19, 2023.

Weverse recently announced that they are taking down the Moonbin & Sanha fan community following the idol’s passing. The Weverse fan community had been opened just days before Moon Bin’s death.

Moonbin is survived by his parents and sister Moon Sua, the main rapper for the girl group BILLLIE. Sua is currently taking a break from promotions and will not participate in her group’s upcoming activities.

Moon Sua Will Not Participate In BILLLIE’s Japanese Promotions

Moon Sua continues to be on an indefinite hiatus. The BILLLIE rapper will not participate in the group’s Japanese promotions this month.

BILLLIE’s Agency Announces Moon Sua’s Absence in Upcoming Promotions

Mystic Story issued a statement confirming Moon Sua’s absence in BILLLIE’s upcoming promotions.

“We are announcing that Moon Sua will not participate in the scheduled Japanese album promotions with the May 17 release of the Japanese debut album as the starting point,” the statement read.

“The promotion schedules will run with six members Haram, Haruna, Sheon, Siyoon, Suhyeon, and Tsuki,” it continued.

The announcement comes only weeks after Mystic Story confirmed that Moon Sua is taking time off from BILLLIE following the death of her brother.

On April 19, Sua’s older brother Moon Bin was found dead in his apartment in Gangnam. The ASTRO singer’s passing shocked the world and proved to be difficult for his younger sister. Sua served as chief mourner at Moonbin’s funeral which was attended by his fellow ASTRO members and close friends.

Moon Sua also penned a heartfelt letter which she left at Moonbin’s memorial space.

“Oppa, it’s me, your one and only precious sister Sua,” she wrote. “I came to visit (the memorial) too. I cried so much so I’m going to stop crying now. I’ll smile more now. I’m going to do what I want to and be happy. So, I hope you are going to be happy there. Please watch over your sister, if I’m doing well or now.”

Sua continued, “I’ll live diligently for your sake too. Don’t stop me. Still, if things get hard, I’ll come to you to vent out so you have to comfort me. You’ve worked so hard until now. I love you so much and I’ll forever be your younger sister. Moon siblings forever.”

For now, it is unclear how long Moon Sua will be on hiatus. Nevertheless, fans understand that the BILLLIE rapper needs time to grieve for her brother. Sua will also require some time for reflection and will hopefully return in the future.

BILLLIE will release their first Japanese single “GingaMingaYo (the strange world) – Japanese ver.” on May 17, 2023.

ASTRO’s JinJin Pens Emotional Letter for the Late Moonbin

JinJin Writes Emotional Letter Asking Moonbin To Visit His Dreams

JinJin shared a series of pictures on his Instagram account. The images feature dandelion seeds and numerous happy photos of Moon Bin.

The caption that JinJin added on the post is actually an emotional letter for Moonbin. “Maybe because every time I look at my photo album, you are there, but I still can’t believe it. I’m just going to think about it that way,” he wrote.

“I’m just going to believe I can’t get in contact with you because you’re busy doing the things and eating the things you wanted to and that you’ll always be with us,” JinJin added.

“I miss when you would always tell me when you looked at me that it made you smile and how you’d always like whatever I said and play the most jokes on me. I regret not taking your jokes better or laughing more.”

He wrote, “I think of your smiling face, and I can’t help but laugh along with you.”

JinJin also asked Moon Bin to visit him in his dreams and shared an update about his activities. He concluded his letter on a hopeful note.

“Bin, my younger brother, who I love so much, let’s laugh a lot,” he wrote. “Let’s laugh and have happy thoughts and happy news, and please don’t be hurt, and let’s be happy. I love you, my little brother. Goodnight.”

Moon Bin passed away on April 19, 2023. He was found in his apartment in Gangnam. He is survived by his parents and younger sister BILLLIE rapper Moon Sua, who served as chief mourner at Moonbin’s funeral.

“Bin-ah. I really miss you tonight. You bad friend. I couldn’t sleep so Sanha and I came by on a little walk. Are you getting some good sleep? All of those things I used to do with you, the most ordinary things, the most trivial things, I miss it all so much and I regret it all so much…” he wrote.

“In your moon world, be some hundred times happier. Everything you left behind, I’ll take care of it and shoulder it in your place, so don’t worry too much. You worked hard. I love you and I’m sorry, my friend,” Cha Eun Woo concluded.

Moonbin’s memorial space will be moved to the FANTAGIO building’s rooftop and will be open for visitation until June 2023.

The Moonbin & Sanha Weverse Community is officially shutting down. ASTRO’s agency FANTAGIO decided to close the recently opened community following the passing of Moon Bin earlier in April.

FANTAGIO issued a statement regarding the status of the Moonbin & Sanha Weverse Community. According to the statement, the agency has decided to suspend the community following Moon Bin’s sudden passing.

“All services within Moonbin & Sanha’s Weverse platform will end on April 30,” it read. “Following the termination of service, it will not be possible to view or upload posts, photos, or videos on all menus, and it will not be possible to enter the community following the end of service.”

The agency urged fans to “back up the content” that they wish to save. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused in using the service,” the statement concluded.

Moonbin & Sanha was an active ASTRO subunit before Moon Bin passed away earlier in April. The Weverse Community had been opened following their latest comeback with the album ‘Incense’. Moonbin passed away on April 19, just two days after the community was opened.

Sanha has kept his silence following his subunit partner’s passing. However, he left an emotional handwritten letter at Moonbin’s memorial space in front of the FANTAGIO building.

“Hyung, are you well? I miss you so much,” he wrote. “Your image still lingers in front of my eyes. I know if I show such a weak side, you’ll give me a scolding, but just let me stay like this a little longer.”

He added, “I promise to be happy, just like you told me to. I’ll keep that promise for certain. Know that I love you a lot, and I love you.”

SinB and Umji Leave Heartbreaking Letters To Moonbin at ASTRO Member’s Memorial Space

SinB and Umji have finally visited Moonbin’s memorial space. The VIVIZ members both wrote heartbreaking letters for their good friend and fellow 98z liner.

VIVIZ’s SinB and Umji Pen Regretful Messages for Moon Bin

SinB and Umji penned emotional letters that they then left at Moonbin’s memorial space in front of the FANTAGIO building. Hwang Eunbi, who had been friends with Moon Bin for 18 years, reminisced about how he often scolded her.

“We’ve known each other for 18 years but I wonder why I was so embarrassed to say nice pretty things to you rather than grumbling at you. That’s what I regret so much,” SinB wrote. “I think I’ll regret that, be sad, reminisce, and feel sorry for a while and think of you all day long. I bet you’ll see me from there and sigh wondering why I’m being like that and feeling embarrassed. Please understand.”

She then promised to take care of Moonbin’s sister Moon Sua and his parents. SinB further expressed regret for not sharing her feelings.

“Bin. You are my precious friend that gave me so much strength and reassurance just by your presence. I’m sorry I am only saying that now…Wherever I am, if someone asks who is my best friend, I’ll confidently say it’s you!” she wrote. “Bin, who is so awesome and whom I am proud of, you’re so precious! I’ll come to see you often. Rest peacefully.”

Umji’s letter also reflected her disbelief over Moonbin’s passing.

“After a few nights of longing and regret, I’m trying to live a bit of a more colorful daily life! I still wake up in the morning hoping that it was all just a dream,” she wrote. “The days go by as I come back to my senses, I’ll drop by to say hello and talk to you with anyone who can remember you.”

“I don’t think you’ll have to worry about me much so I’ll be there with the people you worry about,” Umji added. “You can count on me like you always have! Bin-ah, you’ve worked so hard, rest well. Get some rest, & maybe come into other people’s dreams sometime, okay?”

SinB and Umji have been friends with Moonbin for a long time. However, the idols were unable to attend his funeral due to VIVIZ’s schedule. Still, Hwang Eunbi and Kim Yewon still found the time to visit Moon Bin’s memorial space.

In related news, Moonbin’s memorial space will be moved to the FANTAGIO building rooftop. Visitation to the new memorial space will also be extended until June.

FANTAGIO Extends Moonbin’s Memorial Space Until June

The memorial space for the late ASTRO member Moon Bin is moving to a new location. FANTAGIO announced that they are moving the memorial place where fans can continue to leave good memories. The company also confirmed that the memorial will be kept up for an extended duration until June.

ASTRO Agency Extends Moonbin’s Memorial Space

FANTAGIO had previously announced that the memorial space for Moonbin will be open until April 30. However, a more recent statement confirms that the memorial, currently set up in front of the agency’s building, will be moved to a new location. This will allow them to keep the memorial open for a longer period.

“After taking into consideration the opinions of the many AROHA who found it difficult to visit the memorial space within the limited time period, we have decided to extend the visitation period until June 6, the 49th day since [Moonbin’s] passing, so that the memorial space can be used a bit longer,” the statement reads.

In the Buddhist tradition, there is a belief that it takes 49 days for the spirit of the deceased to reach the next realm. This belief is widely held in Korea.

Moonbin’s Memorial Space Moved To A New Location

FANTAGIO confirmed that the new memorial space will be on the rooftop of the agency’s building.

“We plan to prepare a new memorial space in a location where [mourners] can fully concentrate on mourning,” said the agency. “Starting from April 28, the memorial space that was located at the front door of the Fantagio building, inside the parking lot, and behind the building will be gradually moved to the rooftop of the company building.”

“As a result, the memorial space that we set up on one side of the parking lot will only be available for use until April 30, and we ask for your understanding in this regard,” it adds.

MJ and JinJin Express Love For Moonbin

MJ, who had taken an emergency leave from military service, penned a rueful message for his dongsaeng.

“My brother Bin. I came too late. I’m sorry,” he wrote. “How lonely and difficult it must have been for you. Only if I was closer. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to protect you.”

ASTRO leader JinJin wrote, “Bin, it’s Jinjin Hyung. Many people came (to the memorial space). You made a promise to me right? to live smiling.”

“I’m putting effort to smile just as you told me to. I’m going to start practicing for musicals and I’ll also eat your share of food too. I’ll care for your mom, dad, and Sua, so don’t worry. I love you so much. My younger brother,” he added.

Moonbin’s body was found in his home in Gangnam on April 19, 2023, at 8:10 PM KST. The police have speculated but the cause of death is still under investigation.
