BTS’s j-hope Posts New Year’s Message on Weverse

As 2024 dawned in South Korea, BTS‘s j-hope surprised fans with not one, but two heartfelt New Year’s messages. Despite serving in the South Korean military as a special forces soldier, his love for the fans remains unwavering.

His first message was shared across BTS’s official social media channels. As translated by @uarmyvibe on X (formerly known as Twitter), the message read, “Happy New Year, ARMY! It is 2024, everyone. Happy New Year. I sincerely hope that the year 2024 will be filled with only happiness for our ARMY! Let me give you some good news for the new year. Hobi will be discharged within this year. Of course, it’s a bit close to the end. Haha! Around that time, I think gifts for you will be gradually revealed. Please look forward to them! Anyway, as you start 2024 with Hobi’s message, hope will be with you and it will be a good start. More than anything else, health comes first. Don’t be sick! Be happy! I love you!”

In a longer post on Weverse, j-hope reflected on his activities in 2023. He talked about going to award shows and Paris on his own, and hinted that he has more surprises in store for ARMY. He also admitted that he’s looking forward to being discharged.

“I enlisted after living busily and intensely. Like that, I’ve already spent nine months as a soldier and am already preparing to see the day of my discharge (of course, it ends in October). What I feel is that I can only think about how I want to show you all a cool side of myself again, even a day earlier, and I miss you all just as much!” he wrote.

j-hope was as optimistic as ever

Despite admitting that he misses and worries about the other BTS members, j-hope was as optimistic as ever in his post. He expressed his excitement for what the next year has in store for all of them.

“While I miss our members too, I also worry, and on one hand, I feel a sense of relatability, which also gives me strength. I can say this because I’ve experienced it first! But I’m sure everybody feels the same,” he continued. “Before sleeping, I think about a lot of things and encounter a variety of dreams. Things that were a given and trivial have become ideal, and for a while, they relieve fatigue and let me release a stiff breath. My sleep tonight, as we transition to the new year, will be like that too, right? The day I faithfully finish my military duty makes me even more full of energy for the beginning of 2024.”

Read: BTS’ J-Hope Gifts Letter to Fans on ARMY Day While Serving in the Military

How are we feeling, ARMYs? BTS rapper J-Hope surprised fans on Sunday, July 9, with an update about how he’s faring in his military service.

In the Weverse post, J-Hope, or Jung Ho-seok in real life, shared that he’s now serving as the training instructor at the 36th Infantry Division recruit training center after completing his training.

He continued that while he hadn’t had enough time to reach out to his fans given how busy he is with the training, he still wanted to say hello to them even if it’s only through a short message.

J-Hope also couldn’t help but recall his memories from July of last year and compare it to how he’s spending it now. “These are two completely different sides of me but I think that they’re the same in that I’m still filled with fiery passion as I plan my future,” he wrote.

He also promised ARMYs that whether it’s as Jung Ho-seok or BTSJ-Hope, he will continue to live his life to the fullest in whatever situation he is in.

He ended the post by wishing good health to his fans, fellow BTS members, and military personnel.

J-Hope began his basic military training on April 18 at the New Recruit Training Center Division A in Gangwon-do. At the time, he also assured ARMYs that he’s no longer worried about his military enlistment.

J-Hope, who is the second BTS member to enlist, following member Jin, is expected to be discharged by October 17, 2024.

Following BTS’ announcement in June 2022 that they’ll be taking a break, the members have focused on solo activities, with other members enlisting in the military.

Jungkook, the group’s youngest member, is the latest BTS member to have a solo release, following j-hope’s JACK IN THE BOX, Jin’The Astronaut, RM’s Indigo, and Jimin’FACE.

J-Hope shared the new images on Weverse and Instagram. He also confirmed his graduation in the caption.

“ARMYs !!! I finished it well,” he wrote. “I was able to complete training well because the letters of support you sent me were very helpful!!!

I will do my best for the rest of my military service and show you my best! I love you!!” J-Hope then added, “The cell phone is fascinating…”

J-Hope underwent five weeks of basic military training at the recruit training center of the 36th Infantry Division in April. He then attended the completion ceremony and is now awaiting his station at a military base.

In related news, BIGHIT MUSIC previously asked fans to refrain from sending letters and gifts to J-Hope during his basic military training.

Please refrain from sending letters and gifts even after he has finished his military recruit training and gets stationed at his military base,” the statement read.

“If a large number of letters and gifts from the fans arrive at the center all at once, it would be difficult to store them and they could be easily lost,” it continues. “We ask that you please refrain from sending anything by mail.”

The statement adds, “BIGHIT MUSIC will assist in making sure that J-Hope is able to personally see any kind and warm messages fans leave on Weverse using the hashtag #Dear_j-hope_from_ARMY.

J-Hope confirmed his enlistment early last month and began his basic military training on April 18, 2023. He is the second member of BTS to enlist for mandatory military service after Jin in December 2022. Jung Hoseok is expected to be discharged on October 17, 2024.

BIGHIT MUSIC released a statement about ARMYs trying to reach out to J-Hope while he is at training camp. The statement informs fans of the guidelines on how to continue sending the BTS rapper their warm messages so he can personally see them.

Additionally, the statement shared guidelines for J-Hope’s recruit training graduation ceremony.

“In order to prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, we ask fans to please refrain from visiting the site,” it reads. “Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts.”

J-Hope began his military enlistment on April 18, 2023. He was the second member of BTS to enlist for mandatory military service after Jin enlisted in December 2022. Since the two were assigned to different training camps, Kim Seokjin found alternative ways to reach Jung Hoseok.

Earlier this month, Jin left a comment under a fan’s Weverse post. The comment was a message for J-Hope asking how his basic training has been going.

BTS’ J-Hope Sends Sweet Message for Parents While in Military Service

J-Hope might be serving his country right now but he is always looking out for Mom and Dad. The BTS main dancer unveiled some cute artwork for Parents Day. The artwork also includes a sweet message for his mother and father.

J-Hope Shares Adorable Drawing and Heartfelt Message for Parents’ Day

The Camp is a special website where people can stay updated with loved ones serving in the Korean military. On May 7, the website shared a photo of J-Hope showing off an adorable drawing for Parents’ Day. The illustration also features a sweet message for Jung Hoseok’s parents.

“Mom, Dad, I’m greeting you in celebration of Parents’ Day,” he wrote. “Thank you for giving birth to and raising me. I love you. Your son, Hoseok.

It’s a sweet message that would make J-Hope’s mother and father truly proud. In addition to that, the illustration is extra special as it was drawn by the “On The Street” rapper just for Mom and Dad.

Although J-Hope was able to share a heartfelt message to his parents, it looks like he is having trouble contacting his fellow BTS member. Jin previously posted a message under the rapper’s latest update on Weverse.

“Have you not been able to call? Because you have been reading the room. Have you received the letters that I have sent well?” Jin wrote under a fan’s comment. He also joked about keeping an eye on his dongsaeng.

Are you hurt anywhere? Have you shaved your friends’ hair? Is the food that is served there good? There’s a long time to go until you get a vacation,” Kim Seokjin wrote. “I’m spending my military life looking at you.

J-Hope enlisted for mandatory military service on April 18, about four months after Jin’s enlistment. He is then expected to be discharged by October 17, 2024.

Interestingly, Jin replied to the post. But instead of addressing the ARMY, his comment is actually a message for J-Hope.

“Are you getting <soaked> in the rain? Are you using the px (store)? Have you not gained weight?” Jin asked. He then questioned whether J-Hope has tried to contact him or received his letters.

“Have you not been able to call? Because you have been reading the room. Have you received the letters that I have sent well?” he continued. Jin then went full hyung mode by asking if his dongsaeng is OK.

Are you hurt anywhere? Have you shaved your friends’ hair? Is the food that is served there good? There’s a long time to go until you get a vacation,” he wrote. Jin then concluded his message with a line that had 2seok aficionados smiling.
