Lee Hyori has exhibited her generous spirit once again by making a substantial donation of over $222,000 to ‘The Beautiful Foundation.’ The “Don’t Forget Me” singer’s act of kindness is directed towards aiding single mothers who are in need of support.

The donation, which was made on October 19, amounts to a generous 300 million Won. It will be instrumental in assisting low-income single mothers in various ways. ‘The Beautiful Foundation’ will utilize these funds to provide critical emergency assistance to single mothers facing financial difficulties. Additionally, the donation will facilitate tailored vocational training, educational opportunities, and the development of social networks through the ‘Single-Parent Women’s Resurgence Support Project.’

The support project also intends to help prepare single mothers for job searching. It also provides social networks that can provide practical help for a stable parenting environment and economic independence.

Lee Hyori shared a statement about her donation.

“I started sharing because I wanted to practice small actions that would make a better world,” she said. “I want to support the shining life of single mothers and spread the beauty of life with my neighbors through sharing in the future.”

Lee Hyori’s commitment to philanthropy has been evident in the past as well. She has previously made donations to ‘The Beautiful Foundation,’ focusing on helping disadvantaged senior citizens who require heating assistance during the winter months. Additionally, she and husband Lee Sang Soon are active members of an animal rights group and previously collaborated on a song that Lee recorded to support animal shelters. Her continued dedication to contributing to meaningful causes also demonstrates her compassion and desire to make a positive impact on those in need.

TEMPEST Member Hwarang To Undergo Shoulder Injury Surgery

Hwarang’s shoulder injury has finally caught up with him. The TEMPEST member is currently scheduled to undergo surgery due to the injury. Unfortunately, this means the idol will not be able to participate in the group’s upcoming schedules.

TEMPEST’s Hwarang  To Go on Hiatus to Undergo Shoulder Injury

On October 19, Yuehua Entertainment made an official announcement on TEMPEST’s fan cafe. The agency confirmed the necessity of the procedure Hwarang will undergo.

“Hwarang has been advised by a doctor that he needs surgery in order to recover from his shoulder injury, so he plans to focus entirely on his recovery while undergoing surgery and all necessary treatment,” the statement read. It also confirms that the idol will only be able to attend one upcoming schedule.

“Out of respect for Hwarang’s wish to meet his fans, he will attend the fan signing event scheduled for October 22, but we are informing you that he will inevitably be unable to participate in some future fan signing events and Japanese release events held after that date,” the statement continued.

It concludes with Yueha Entertainment assuring fans that they are prioritizing Hwarang’s health.

“We will make another announcement when Hwarang is able to return to activities,” the statement read. “We apologize for giving cause for concern to the fans who support TEMPEST. We will do our utmost to help Hwarang recover his health.”

Hwarang is expected to make an appearance at TEMPEST’s upcoming fan signing event on October 22 as previously planned. However, after this event, he will temporarily suspend his participation in the group’s activities to prioritize his recovery.

TEMPEST was initially scheduled to make their debut on February 21, 2022, but on February 14, Yuehua Entertainment revealed that the debut would be delayed. The delay was attributed to all seven members testing positive for COVID-19. Eventually, the group officially marked their debut on March 2, 2022, with the release of the EP ‘It’s Me, It’s We’. They are currently promoting their first single album ‘Into the TEMPEST’ and the title track “Vroom Vroom”.

Disney+ has shared new stills from “Vigilante” and all of them put the focus on Nam Joo Hyuk. Moreover, the streaming service shared the actor’s insights on his upcoming role of Kim Ji Yong, a man who lives as a police academy student by day but takes on the role of a vigilante by night. But what drew Nam to the project? As it turns out, he knew about the story before it was adapted into an action drama.

“‘Vigilante’ was a webtoon I really liked, and I decided to star in the drama because I had a strong desire to portray the character Kim Ji Yong,” he said.

Nam also addressed how he went through an intense regimen so he could take on the role considering this would be his first action drama.

“Since it’s my first action project, I had many discussions with the martial arts team about the details throughout filming,” he said. “I believed that my character should exhibit a distinct vibe when in a police uniform compared to his Vigilante persona. When portraying the character in his Vigilante role, I focused on presenting a somewhat darker and more solemn figure. Instead of overtly displaying emotions, I tried to act by internalizing those emotions.”

What is ‘Vigilante’ About?

“Vigilante” follows the story of Kim Ji Yong (portrayed by Nam Joo Hyuk), a model police university student who champions justice during the day but transforms into a vigilante at night. When confronting criminals who have evaded the grasp of the law, he takes justice into his own hands.

From a tender age, Kim Ji Yong suffered the heart-wrenching loss of his mother, a victim of the brutal acts committed by local thugs. Observing these malefactors returning to their criminal ways, even after being shown leniency and released from incarceration, Kim Ji Yong adopts a solemn mission: to deliver his own judgment upon those criminals who have managed to evade legal consequences.

“Vigilante” will premiere on Disney+ on November 8, 2023.

Her solo debut comes six years after her initial debut with LOONA and follows her removal from the group in November 2022 due to contract disputes. Chuu endured a long and challenging legal battle with her former agency to secure her freedom as an artist and had to rebuild her career from scratch.

During the press event, Chuu opened up about her journey in the music industry, the challenges she has faced, and her deep appreciation for her fans. She highlighted how her love for music provided her with solace and confidence during difficult times.

Despite being part of separate companies now, the LOONA members continue to support each other. They share their new songs with one another before releases, reflecting the strong bond they still maintain.

“I also played my music to the members of LOONA to see their reactions,” Chuu said. “The members gave me a lot of support and said they liked the songs and that it suited me well. I received a lot of encouragement, and it gave me motivation.”

When asked about the possibility of reuniting with all 12 members, Chuu became emotional, expressing her shared desire with the other members to see this happen. The prospect of a full LOONA reunion remains a heartfelt aspiration for all involved.

“We’ve talked countless times about the 12 of us performing together again. We’re always open to that possibility and want to make it happen as soon as possible,” Chuu said.

Chuu was the first LOONA member to take legal action against her former agency, Blockberry Creative, and successfully suspend her exclusive contract. This legal action set a precedent, leading other LOONA members to follow suit. Together, they filed for a temporary injunction against Blockberry, which ultimately resulted in their contractual freedom. The former LOONA members have since found new homes with different labels, with the exception of Yves.

Chuu recently dropped the solo single “Howl”.

During the Q&A with fans, the actor was asked what kind of music style he loved to listen to during a long drive. While working with people he likes should be easy, not all of Park Seo Joon’s projects are a walk in the park. The “Dream” star was also how he prepares for a role which would mean understanding a character. Park’s response was thoughtful and insightful.

“If we were to talk about this, I think we need a lot of time,” he said. “Let’s say, for example, I received the role of a 35-year-old doctor. In the scenario itself, I only get to check that he’s already a doctor, but for me, as an actor, it’s my responsibility to try to think about what caused this or how he became a doctor and what he went through.”

“I will try my best to take all the information I can get from that,” Park continued. “However, when I see some missing spots, as an actor, I think it’s my responsibility to fill them up myself.”

Park Seo Joon is currently set to debut as Prince Yan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel “The Marvels”, which will hit theaters on November 10, 2023.

In a recently-resurfaced interview with TIDAL, Mitski was asked if there is a pop song that she has been deconstructing as of late. Interestingly, the “Nobody” singer revealed that her choice is an iconic EXO song.

“There’s a K-Pop song called ‘Call Me Baby’ by this band… I don’t know what you would call a K-Pop… group… by this group called EXO,” Mitski said.

She went on to say that, “the chord progressions in that are fascinating.”

This isn’t the first time that the songwriter expressed her admiration for “Call Me Baby”. In another interview, Mitski said that she was listening to the iconic EXO song on repeat at the time. She even pointed out that there is a good reason why the track is so catchy.

“One of Michael Jackson’s old producers produced it and it makes sense because it’s so Motown pop-y,” Mitski said.

It’s awesome to know that Mitski couldn’t stop listening to “Call Me Baby” for a time. But is it possible that she has moved on to another song for a change? For now, there are no updates on Mitski’s playlist but we’ll keep you updated soon.

Mitski debuted in 2012 with the self-produced album ‘Lush’. She would later work on the song “This is the Life” with the legendary David Byrne and the band Son Lux who produced the soundtrack for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. The song would go on to be nominated for Best Original Song at the 2022 Academy Awards but lost out to “Naatu Naatu” by M. M. Keeravani and Chandrabose featuring Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava from the “RRR” soundtrack.
