Kai and Sehun Attend EXO Fan Meeting as Audience Members

EXO just held their 12th anniversary fan meeting with six members onstage but it looks like concertgoers were in great company. Kai and Sehun have just been revealed to be in the audience supporting the rest of the group and enjoying the show with EXO-Ls.

On April 14, EXO held their 12th anniversary fan meeting ‘2024 EXO FAN MEETING : ONE‘ at the Incheon Yeongjongdo Inspire Arena. The fan meeting was split into two sessions and during the second session, two familiar faces were spotted in the audience.

During his ment, leader Suho pointed out that Kai and Sehun had messages for EXO-Ls who would be attending the fan meeting. As he spoke, he singled out the two youngest members of the group, who were revealed to be in the audience. Fellow member Baekhyun even jokingly scolded their maknae for sitting lazily and told him not to cross his legs.

It certainly confirms that the EXO members are ready to support each other despite their busy schedules. Although Kai and Sehun were unable to perform with the rest of the group, they found the time to attend the fan meeting to support their hyungs and make Eris smile.

Although the maknaes did not perform during the 12th anniversary fan meeting, Suho dropped a major teaser during the event. According the Kim Junmyeon, EXO is preparing to embark on their next world tour once Sehun and Kai have fulfilled their mandatory military service. This could mean that their next full group comeback and concert tour will be sometime in 2025.

In the meantime, EXO members have been busy with their solo endeavors. Baekhyun is currently on his ‘LONSDALEITE’ solo tour while D.O. is preparing for his next solo comeback. Additionally, Suho recently announced with solo fan tour across Asia.

Baekhyun, one of the EXO members, took to his Instagram story to post a photo from the wedding. It captured a moment of togetherness as the members sat at a table during the celebration. The glimpse into their reunion sparked emotions among fans who have eagerly awaited such moments.

Leader Suho shared another photo, offering a candid look at the group enjoying the wedding festivities. Chanyeol contributed to the excitement by uploading the last of the group photos, accompanied by a close-up shot, further enhancing the sentiment of the reunion. Although Chinese member Lay was not present at the event, he recently made it clear he is still a member of EXO.

EXO Kai’s Rover Review: Go On a Wild Ride with Mr. Rover

EXO’s Kai makes a bold comeback—and got loads of fellow K-pop idols to join his dance challenge—with his third mini-album Rover

Has it really been almost three years since EXO’s center and main dancer Kai debuted as a soloist with his self-titled mini-album? It feels as if he has just released Mmmh and Peaches last month (probably because all the songs in his albums have never left my playlists). But, on March 13, 2023 Kai made a spectacular comeback with his third mini-album Rover.

The lead single, also called Rover, is a lively reggaeton-inspired dance track that I believe has a completely different vibe from his previous titles. The song genre is a new addition to the idol’s repertoire, but the song itself isn’t. It’s actually a remake of Bulgarian singer Dara’s Mr. Rover, but in true Kai fashion, he put in his signature intensity, charming honey-like vocals, and deep, rich raps to truly make the song his own. Plus, that high note in the bridge adds that much-needed extra punch—aside from showcasing his vocal growth. Some might not be too keen on the repetition in the chorus, but I personally love it—it’s so darn catchy! And hey, lots of idols love the song, too!

In interviews during his promotion period, Kai explained that the album explores the concept of freedom. Rover is about being free to live life without being weighed down by others’ expectations—and this release delivers the concept brilliantly. 

 

Similar to the title track, Bomba is an upbeat, reggaeton-inspired song that surely won’t be out of place in summer playlists. This song continues the theme of living freely and being in the moment. It’s just as catchy as Rover, so it’s not surprising that it was once in the running to be a lead single!  

 

The mood shifts dramatically with Black Mirror, a pointed critique on society’s over-reliance on social media; with people losing themselves while mindlessly scrolling on the screen. The song’s heavy hip hop beats give off an eerie, almost unearthly vibe. It’s my favorite song from this mini-album (possibly influenced by Film : KAI #Rover performance reel).

Slidin’ and Say You Love Me are both R&B tracks—but each song serves completely different vibes. Slidin’ is smooth and sultry, while Say You Love Me is intense and borderline hypnotic. Sinner, an emotional song with minimal accompaniment, closes out the mini-album.  

 

I love all of Kai’s solo work, but Rover is my favorite so far (this whole album now has a permanent spot in my playlist). I believe this mini-album showcases his growth as an artist. In this album, he proves that he is not afraid to go outside his comfort zone, even with 11 years in the Korean entertainment industry under his belt. Kai clearly knows what he wants and what direction he wants to go, music and performance-wise. So go on, press play, and let Mr. Rover take you on a ride.

EXO Officially Announces July Comeback Date

EXO is getting ready for a new album. The remaining active members have announced their July comeback date. In addition to that, Kai could still be featured in the album despite his recent military enlistment.

EXO Announces July Comeback Date

SM Entertainment confirmed EXO’s July comeback date in a new statement.

“EXO’s seventh full-length album will be released on July 10,” the statement read. It also revealed that Kai had participated in the new LP.

“As it is an album everyone has put their all into, promotions related to the album will proceed as planned. We will release more details soon,” the statement continued.

This is great news for fans who were concerned about Kai after the “Rover” singer tearfully confirmed his military enlistment. Kim Jongin had stated that he was disappointed he couldn’t join the rest of EXO in their next comeback.

“There’s so much that I had prepared. What a pity. That’s what’s upsetting,” Kai said during a live broadcast.

“There’s nothing that I could do about this. I’m sad that I can’t show you what I prepared but I can just show it after I return,” he added.

Although Kai will not be able to join the promotions for the new album, his presence will still be felt in the July comeback.

The comeback also confirms that Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen will continue promoting with the rest of the group. The EXO-CBX members had previously notified SM Entertainment of the termination of their exclusive contracts. However, they also assured EXO-Ls that they will continue to be a part of their group despite their legal dispute with SM.

In related news, SM Entertainment announced that EXO is planning to film a group reality show in Korea. The details of the project have not been revealed. However, it was confirmed that the remaining active seven members will participate.

EXO Confirmed For New Reality Show Without Kai

EXO is ready for a new project. The remaining active members will begin filming for a new reality show. This will be their first group effort after Kai’s military enlistment and EXO-CBX’s ongoing dispute with SM Entertainment.

SM Entertainment Confirms EXO Will Begin Filming As A Group For New Reality Show

On June 8, SM Entertainment announced that EXO is planning to film a group reality show in Korea. The details of the project have not been revealed. However, it was confirmed that the remaining seven members will participate.

On the same day, Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., and Sehun were spotted at the Gimpo Airport. It is believed that the EXO members will begin filming for the reality show soon.

The upcoming show will be EXO’s first group project after Kai enlisted for mandatory military service in May 2023. It might be one of the projects Kim Jongin was referring to when he tearfully announced his military enlistment.

Prior to his enlistment, Kai held a free fan meeting that was also broadcast on EXO’s YouTube channel. Kim Jong-in famously celebrated with EXO-Ls after successfully convincing SM Entertainment to organize the fan meet.

The announcement of the upcoming project also confirms that the EXO-CBX members will continue promoting with the rest of the group. Earlier this month, Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen notified SM Entertainment about the termination of their exclusive contracts. In response, the agency claimed that the idols were being influenced by a third party.

Since then, the EXO-CBX members and SM Entertainment have been going back and forth with statements regarding the matter. However, it is agreed that Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen will continue as members of EXO.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie Opens Up About Passing of Beloved Dog Kai

Jennie is finally opening up about a tragedy in her personal life. The BLACKPINK member shared her feeling about the recent passing of her beloved pet Kai. The “Solo” singer also revealed that her other dog Kuma and her mother are greatly affected by the loss.

The dog Kuma was recently the special guest on “Kang Hyung Wook’s Dog Guest Show”. Jennie joined her pet in the episode and discussed several topics with the celebrity dog trainer.

At one point, Kang Hyung Wook asked if the BLACKPINK member had any questions about living with Kuma. Jennie then revealed that she was concerned about Kuma since the death of her first dog Kai.

“Actually…my first dog (Kai) recently died, and Kuma went through a lot,” she said. “I was wondering if there was anything I could do to comfort him.”

“Our family thought Kuma is very depressed…yet it feels like there’s nothing we can effectively do,” Jennie added. “He would mimic everything the other dog did.”

Kang Hyung Wook then assured Jennie that it would only be difficult for Kuma at first. However, the dog will eventually adjust to the change. The dog trainer then turned his attention to Jennie’s other family members.

“But it’s always a lot harder for people. Is your mom okay? It must be very hard for your mother…” he said.

“She is not okay,” Jennie admitted. “We stopped calling each other for a while and we just basically stopped talking.” She further explained that their interactions became too emotional to the point that they would simply cry at the slightest eye contact.

“It also took me a very long time to be able to talk about this openly,” Jennie confessed.

Luckily, Jennie is slowly opening up about her feelings about Kai, who she says was like a little brother to her.

EXO’s Kai Celebrates After Successfully Forcing SM Entertainment To Organize Free Fan Meeting Ahead of Military Enlistment

Kai is getting his wish to see his fans before he enlists in military service. The EXO main dancer celebrated after successfully convincing SM Entertainment to organize a rush fan meeting. The event will be held before Kim Jong-in’s mandatory military service enlistment next week.

SM Entertainment Announces Special Fan Meeting Ahead of Kai’s Military Enlistment

SM Entertainment shared the announcement regarding the special event.

“We are writing to send out a notice that we have prepared a place on Tuesday, May 9 at 7PM at YES24 Live Hall for Kai and EXO-L,” the announcement read. It also confirmed that the intimate event is free but only available for selected fans. However, those who are unable to attend in person can watch the fan meeting online.

“As it is a small place, the event will be free and only EXO-L ACE III and EXO-L ACE II are able to pre-register,” it read. “For fans that are not able to come to the venue, it will be broadcast live on EXO’s Youtube Channel.”

The special fan meeting is not a surprise for EXO-Ls since Kai had shared his intentions with his fans. The EXO member previously confirmed he will “blackmail” his own company to allow him to hold an emergency fan meeting. Kim Jongin later celebrated on his fan community after successfully forcing SM Entertainment to organize the event.

“I succeeded,” he told his fans. “All I had to do was frown a little.”

Kai had previously expressed his disappointment about having to enlist for military service. He explained that he wasn’t sad about serving his country. Instead, he had been looking forward to showing his fans his plans for EXO’s comeback.

“There’s so much that I had prepared. What a pity. That’s what’s upsetting. There’s nothing that I could do about this,” Kai said.

Kai will begin his enlistment on May 11, 2023. The special fan meeting will be held on May 9, 2023.

EXO’s Kai Sheds Tears After Military Enlistment Announcement

Kai is officially enlisting for military service. The EXO main dancer is preparing for military enlistment later this month. The announcement was a huge surprise even for Kim Jongin who tearfully revealed he had upcoming plans for EXO-Ls.

SM Entertainment Announces Kai’s Surprise Military Enlistment

SM Entertainment issued a statement confirming Kai’s military enlistment next week.

“Although Kai had been preparing for EXO’s comeback later this year, due to recent changes in the law regarding military enlistment, Kai will be enlisting on May 11 to complete his basic training, after which he will begin working as a social worker,” the statement reads.

“To respect Kai’s wishes to quietly enlist, we are not revealing the place and time at which he will enlist,” it continues. “We also ask that fans understand that any scheduled events on that day will be cancelled.”

The announcement is a huge surprise for fans since EXO will have a comeback later in the year. The comeback would be the first one with all members following Baekhyun’s military discharge in February 2023.

Kai Tears Up While Comforting Fans About Military Enlistment

Kai did not expect the news, either. He immediately went live after his agency made the announcement. During the broadcast, Kim Jong-in shed tears as he said, “I’m going to the military.”

He then explained he is not upset about serving his country. Instead, Kai revealed he was sad because he had huge plans for EXO’s comeback. He admitted to being excited about showing his plans to EXO-Ls.

“There’s so much that I had prepared. What a pity. That’s what’s upsetting. There’s nothing that I could do about this. I’m sad that I can’t show you what I prepared but I can just show it after I return,” Kai said.

He also confessed that he would miss his fans when he goes to the military.

“It’d be nice if I could see your faces before I go. I think I’m going to miss you so much. I’m already missing you right now though,” Kai admitted. However, he assured EXO-Ls he will feel better about his situation soon.

“Today is the first day of me finding out about it as well, so please be understanding. I’ll smile from tomorrow onwards,” Kim Jong-in said.

Kai will begin his military enlistment on May 11, 2023.
