BLACKPINK’s Lisa to Release Solo Music Under RCA Records

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has taken a significant step in her career by signing with RCA Records for her solo recordings. This collaboration between Lisa and her creative/management company, LLOUD Co., with RCA, is groundbreaking. It allows her to retain ownership of her master recordings as a soloist while continuing to be part of BLACKPINK. The group will release new music under Interscope Records in the US and YG Entertainment in South Korea. 

Expressing her excitement, Lisa shared, “I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career. Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.”

By aligning with RCA Records, Lisa joins a roster of world-renowned artists. They include A$AP Rocky, Becky G, Doja Cat, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, KAYTRANADA, Latto, Mark Ronson, P!NK, Steve Lacy, SZA, Tems, Tate McRae, Victoria Monet, and WizKid. As part of RCA, Lisa aims to expand her global influence.

The BLACKPINK star has made significant strides

Her tenure with BLACKPINK has been nothing short of spectacular. After debuting in 2016, the group achieved monumental success. Their studio albums The Album (2021) and Born Pink (2022) peaked at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, on the US Billboard 200 Albums chart. They also made history by becoming the first K-pop act to headline Coachella in 2023.

Lisa‘s solo endeavors have also been remarkably successful. In South Korea, her debut single album Lalisa sold 736,221 copies in the first week of release. It was eventually certified triple platinum for selling 750,000 copies. Both of the songs on Lalisa—the title track “Lalisa” and “Money”—charted within the Top 10 of the Billboard Global 200. What’s more, “Money” is the longest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

Beyond music, Lisa has made significant strides in social media and television. She has over 120 million Instagram followers and is preparing to make her acting debut in season three of The White Lotus.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa to Perform With Lamoureux Orchestra in Paris

Buckle up, BINKs! Lisa of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is about to conquer a different stage!

On January 26, the K-pop superstar will be gracing the stage at the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes benefit concert in Paris. Moreover, her performance will be accompanied by the popular Lamoureux Orchestra.

On their X account, the orchestra shared the exciting news of the upcoming collaboration. “It is with great pleasure that the musicians of the Lamoureux Orchestra will once again share the stage with BLACKPINK’s Lisa during this event concert,” they wrote.

To note, this will be the idol’s second time performing  with the orchestra at the same venue. In January 2023, Lisa together with her BLACKPINK members, captivated the audience with their striking performances of the hit tracks “Shut Down” and “Pink Venom.”

However, for this year, she will be coming back as a solo act instead. With this, the Thai rapper will be among the powerful lineup of renowned international stars. Some who were confirmed to participate in the concert are Maroon 5, ASAP ROCKY, JJ Balvin, Swae Lee, Vianney, and a lot more.

BLINKs proud and excited for solo ventures of Lisa

As Lisa makes a significant return in the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes event, fans, especially BLINKs, can’t help but be proud and excited for her solo ventures.

On social media, fans said that they can’t wait to see the historical performance of the “Lalisa” singer with the orchestra. “Can’t believe we will see Lisa perform at this gala again but this time as a soloist,” one fan wrote.

Other fans also showed their admiration as the K-pop star continues to expand her horizons as a performer. “She is doing something new every time she’s on stage. And honestly it’s so hard to predict what she will do this time,” one said. Another added that whatever Lisa does, she definitely never disappoints.

Knowing that the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes is a benefit concert, fans have also applauded the multi-talented idol as she continues to showcase her commitment to both her work and charitable causes. 

In 2023, the BLACKPINK member also made history as the first K-pop idol to perform at the Crazy Horse Cabaret in Paris. For those unfamiliar, it is a well-known cabaret famous for its alluring stage performances featuring nude female dancers.

Aside from the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes benefit concert, there’s not much detail yet about Lisa’s next activities. However, it can be recalled that she and the rest of BLACKPINK members have decided to continue their group activities with YG Entertainment. But, the artist’s individual activities will no longer be handled by the agency. 

As of writing, Lisa has yet to announce her plans about solo activities.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa Earns Praises for Her Crazy Horse Performance

Lisa of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK made history anew as she officially became the first idol to perform at the prestigious Crazy Horse in Paris.

On Wednesday, September 28, the Thai rapper officially made her debut performance in Crazy Horse.

According to earlier reports, the “Money” hitmaker will headline five iconic performances between September 28 to 30. 

What we know about Crazy Horse

For those unfamiliar, Crazy Horse in Paris is a well-known cabaret famous for its alluring stage performances featuring nude female dancers. 

Aside from Lisa, international celebrities like Beyonce, Aubade, and Frederick Wiseman, have all previously performed at the art theater.

In an interview with ELLE, Andrée Deissenberg, the show’s chief creative and brand officer, shared how Lisa’s participation in Crazy Horse came to be. 

According to Diessenberg, the K-pop star has been a huge fan of the show even beforehand. Prior to being part of it, Lisa had already gone to see the show several times and met the performers backstage. 

Moreover, Diessenberg continuously praised Lisa for her dedication in delivering a good show. “She stayed in Paris and practiced repeatedly. She’s done very well, professionally. We practiced during their Paris concert in July, and we kept the whole process a secret,” she said. 

Additionally, she revealed that Lisa was also proactive in terms of planning the overall production. And contrary to the tradition of having solo performances, the star opted to perform with existing dancers instead. 

Days before her first show, Lisa also took to social media to share her excitement for her performance. 

“Can’t wait for this to finally happen,” she wrote, alongside photos of her from the venue.

 

Reaction on Lisa’s performance

Since her participation in Crazy Horse was announced, it drew mixed reactions from fans and strangers alike. 

Several were debating whether it’s too much of a risque performance. While many were supportive of Lisa expanding her craft. 

Since recording devices weren’t allowed during the show, fans who watched Lisa’s debut performance shared their thoughts on social media instead. 

Most of them were complimenting Lisa, and even shared snippets from what happened to the show. 

Earlier, it was reported Lisa will be performing classics including “But I’m a Good Girl” and “Crisis? What Crisis?” And according to those who were able to watch the show, she had four solo numbers. 

Aside from her performances though, another highlight was her fellow BLACKPINK members Jisoo and Rosé showing support for her.

Blackpink’s Lisa Becomes Most Streamed K-Pop Soloist With ‘Money’ Surpassing 1 Billion Streams

The power that LALISA holds! Lisa of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK continues to etch her name in history as her song “Money” reaches 1 billion Spotify streams. With this feat, Lisa now becomes the most-streamed K-Pop artist in history.

According to Spotify records released on September 19, Lisa’s “Money” has officially surpassed 1 billion streams. Which makes Lisa the first and only South Korean singer to join the Billions club.

She now joins hitmakers Adele, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, and Gayle as the only female artists to achieve this feat.

Following this achievement, Lisa’s “Money” is now in competition against Doja Cat’s “Woman” for being the most streamed rap song by a female artist on Spotify. As of writing, “Woman” has a total record of 1.3 billion streams.

To celebrate the milestone, Lisa shared the feat on her Instagram story. “Thank you for loving and listening to ‘Money,’” she said. 

Apart from the billion streams on Spotify, YG Entertainment also revealed that the exclusive performance video of “Money” on Youtube has exceeded 900 million views.

 

But what makes these achievements particularly noteworthy for fans? It’s because it has only been two years since Lisa released the song. In September 2021, she released her solo debut album LALISA, which includes the track “Money.”

Lisa: breakthrough solo artist

The billion Spotify streams is now added to Lisa’s long list of breakthrough accomplishments as a soloist. 

In 2022, she wrote down her name in history as the first K-Pop soloist to win the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) Best K-pop video award. Moreover, she also holds the title for the most Guinness World Records for a K-pop singer having a total of seven feats under her name.

With her undeniable global influence, Lisa was announced to be inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame this October. Aside from Lisa, fifteen other individuals will be inducted this year. Other notable names on the list include Freddie Mercury, Johnny Cash, and more.

Aside from that, the multi-talented rapper and dancer is the only K-pop idol to be part of Instagram’s Rich List of 2023.

In other news, BLACKPINK has recently wrapped up the historic Born Pink world tour. According to reports, Born Pink earned over 163.8 Million US Dollars. Which makes it the highest-grossing tour by a female artist that debuted in the 2010s.

As the group celebrated their seventh debut anniversary in August, their seven-year contract also came to an end. Because of this, BLINKs and K-pop onlookers are anxiously waiting for the members’ decision regarding the contract renewal. As of writing, it is rumored that Lisa will not be renewing with YG Entertainment. However, there’s also no confirmation as to whether Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé are staying.

Fans Speculate That Blackpink’s Lisa Is Dating CEO Frédéric Arnault

BLACKPINK member Lisa and TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault further fueled dating rumors after being spotted together at an airport. 

In the photo, Lisa can be seen sitting on a sofa while beside Frédéric. The two were both busy looking at their phones.

The photo at the airport came days after fans speculated that the two went together in Greece for a vacation. Eagle-eyed fans claimed that the two were posting similar photos of the same tourist spots in Greece.

As of writing, Lisa’s agency and Frédéric camp have yet to address the relationship allegations. 

Following this, Lisa is the third member of BLACKPINK to be embroiled in dating controversies in 2023 alone. Fellow member Jennie is speculated to be dating BTS member V, while Jisoo is confirmed to be dating Ahn Bo Hyun.

Timeline of Lisa and Frédéric’s sightings 

Although Frédéric and Lisa have previously worked together in some events, it was a sighting in Paris in July that sparked dating rumors. 

Photos of the two hanging out together at a restaurant in Paris circulated on social media. And since then, fans have been trying to find clues on the two’s supposed relationship. 

But it was in November 2022 when Frédéric first posted about BLACKPINK on his Instagram. The LMVH heir watched the group’s Born Pink concert in Los Angeles and even shared a photo with the four members. 

 

 Then in January 2023, Frédéric was again seen posing with BLACKPINK, this time in Paris. Also in the photo are France’s President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. 

 

In April 2023, Frédéric attended Coachella. BLACKPINK made history as the first K-pop group to headline the prestigious US-based music festival. 

In May 2023, model Naomi Campbell shared a photo with Lisa, Frédéric, and BTS’ V. 

Outside dating rumors 

Currently, Lisa is embarking on BLACKPINK’s Born Pink world tour. 

Lisa has been named the K-pop soloist with the most Guinness World Records in history. Additionally, she will be inducted in the 2023 Asian Hall of Fame. 

BLACKPINK’s seven-year contract with YG Entertainment is set to expire by August 2023. However, Lisa is rumored to no longer renew with the agency.

GOT7’s BamBam & (G)I-DLE’s Minnie Reminisce First Meeting Through BLACKPINK’s Lisa

BamBam and Minnie have once again proven their remarkable friendship. The GOT7 member invited the (G)I-DLE main vocalist to a “Bam House” episode to chat about their first meeting. Interestingly, the idols’ first interaction involved Thai superstar BLACKPINK’s Lisa!

BamBam Welcomes Minnie For Final Episode of ‘Bam House’

In the latest episode of “Bam House”, BamBam welcomed Minnie who arrived with cake and a gift for the GOT7 rapper’s birthday. The (G)I-DLE singer was happy to be the guest for the show’s final episode. She also pointed out that she hasn’t visited the “Ribbon” singer’s house since Lunar New Year in 2022.

BamBam couldn’t remember Minnie’s last visit but he asked if she recalled their first meeting. “Wasn’t it at KCON?” she wondered, but he said that was incorrect.

“No, no. It was when you didn’t have bangs,” BamBam said. He then pointed out that BLACKPINK’s Lisa was present during the interaction.

“Lisa asked me if I knew who you were, and I said I did,” he stated.

Minnie then remembered the moment. “That must have been when I went bowling with Lisa. Did we meet up with you after bowling? That was the year I debuted.”

BamBam pointed out, “I thought I knew you since before your debut, but it turns out, that’s not the case.”

Although there is some confusion about how they first met, Minnie clearly remembers her first impression of BamBam. She revealed that she had seen the rapper before her debut because of the vicinity of their dorms.

“Before I debuted, we lived in a dorm that was across the street from GOT7’s dorm,” Minnie revealed. “One day, I was on my way to the company, and I saw you walking in front of me,” she said to BamBam.

“You were wearing very pointy boots and super skinny jeans. In my head, I thought, ‘Why is he so thin?’. That was my first impression of him,” Minnie said.

BIGBANG’s Taeyang Dishes On BLACKPINK Lisa’s YG Audition

Taeyang says he always knew Lisa is going to be a star. The BIGBANG vocalist revealed that he was present when the BLACKPINK maknae auditioned for YG Entertainment. He then confirmed that his “Shooong!” collaborator was destined for greatness.

Taeyang Shares Details on Lisa’s Audition for YG Entertainment

Taeyang was recently a guest on SBS Power FM’s “Cultwo Show” where he promoted his latest album ‘Down To Earth’. During the interview, Dong Youngbae was praised for the success of “Shoong! (feat. LISA of BLACKPINK)”. The vocalist humbly thanked the host and credited Lalisa Manoban as well.

“Thankfully, I achieved good results by collaborating with Lisa, thank you for helping me,“ he said.

He then admitted that he was present when a young Lisa auditioned for their agency YG Entertainment.

“I didn’t intend to be there. When I was working in the studio, I heard that someone from Thailand came to audition,” Taeyang shared. “After finishing working, I went down and observed the audition.”

“I don’t remember exactly, but she was an elementary or middle school student back then. She came from Thailand alone, so I felt a little bitter,” he added. “I remember the song she sang, ‘Baby,’ by Justin Bieber. As soon as I heard Lisa sing I knew right away that this young lady would be big in the industry in the future.”

The BIGBANG singer continued by expressing his joy that he got to collaborate with Lisa on his new album.

“I feel excited somehow because that girl is doing amazing, she really has a name in the industry,” Taeyang said. “I’m not just talking about her fame in Korea I mean globally. I’m glad to witness her success and see her succeed.”

Lisa and the rest of BLACKPINK recently headlined COACHELLA 2023 over two weekends. The group is also on the road for the BORN PINK World Tour which announced encore shows in North America.
