Plastic Surgeon Reveals the Popularity of BTS’s V’s Nose

When it comes to male plastic surgery, rhinoplasty is a highly sought-after procedure, with an increasing number of men turning to it to refine their visuals. Dr. Lee Byung-hoe, a seasoned plastic surgeon, recently highlighted the current trends in male nose surgery. In his latest YouTube video, he discussed the types of noses that appeal to men. He also mentioned the celebrities whose features are often used as inspiration during consultations.

Kim Taehyung, also known as V from BTS, was identified as a significant influence. His nose is the most popular reference men bring to plastic surgery clinics, according to Dr. Lee. The “Slow Dancing” singer’s nose is admired for its natural-looking, masculine shape that runs straight from the bridge to the tip.

“V’s overall nose bridge is high and straight. But from the front, it has quite a bit of volume,” the surgeon explained. “The tip of his nose has a strong rounded feel rather than being pointed. So, his nose is soft, but it has a clear T-zone, giving it a very masculine look.”

Many men want to look like V

V’s facial features have long been celebrated for their natural beauty and symmetry, often aligning with the “golden ratio,” which represents the ideal beauty standards across various cultures. His high nose bridge and large, expressive eyes contribute to a strong, masculine profile. This is despite the fact that his face is smaller and his eyes larger than those typically associated with traditional handsomeness. His mismatched eyelids—one double eyelid and one monolid—further enhance his unique appeal. That’s why many men want to look like him.

Despite the increase in requests for a nose like V’s, Dr. Lee and his colleagues emphasize that the idol’s striking features result from genetics, not cosmetic surgery. This distinction serves as a reminder that while procedures can enhance one’s appearance, the natural symmetry and unique charm of features like V’s are rare.

As such, those seeking to look like V should manage their expectations about the outcomes of such surgeries. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’s Jimin’s TikTok Hashtag Exceeds 166 Billion Views

BTS’s Jimin has demonstrated his worldwide appeal once again by reaching a new TikTok milestone. His unique hashtag “#jimin” has surpassed an astonishing 166 billion views for a single mention as of February 14. This underscores the idol’s charm and the global impact of his music. It also serves as a clear indicator of the widespread love and support he enjoys from fans around the world.

230224 Jimin Dose – ‘Jimin-level popularity’ Jimin’s TikTok hashtag exceeds 166 billion views

Jimin’s solo song “Filter,” which appeared on BTS‘s fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7, is quite popular on TikTok. It has been used as background music over 397,700 times. This ranks it seventh overall and first among solo songs on BTS‘s official account. It is followed by some of the group’s songs, like “Permission to Dance,” “Fake Love,” and “Boy With Luv.”

Moreover, Jimin’s “Like Crazy”—the title track of his debut solo album FACE—was named the Song of March in TikTok’s 2023 K-pop mid-year summary. But that’s not all. From becoming the first song by a Korean soloist to hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, “Like Crazy” has also become a favorite on TikTok. As of February 18, 2024, it has been used in over 316,000 videos.

Everything Jimin touches turns to gold

It’s almost like everything Jimin touches turns to gold—on TikTok, at least. A BangBangCon promotional video he filmed and posted in 2020 has recorded the highest views for an individual on TikTok, with 130 million views and 13.81 million likes. Meanwhile, a video of Jimin dancing to BTS’s first English hit “Dynamite,” garnered significant attention as well. That video has 108.3 million views and 15.9 million likes as of this writing.

Normally, after achieving such success on TikTok, one might rush to create more content for the platform. However, Jimin can’t do that right now because he’s still serving in the South Korean military. He and fellow BTS member Jungkook enlisted together under the “동반입대” (dongbanipdae) or buddy system. This program allows them to enlist, train, and live together for the duration of their service. Maybe after they’re discharged, sometime in June 2025, they can make a TikTok video together.

Given Jimin’s current success on TikTok, he might break the platform once he’s able to post again. Until then, ARMYs worldwide are eagerly counting down the days till his return. – K-Pop News Writer

Fan Accidentally Registers as a Soldier While Checking App for News on BTS

A few days ago, the BTS fandom was left in stitches after a fan accidentally registered herself as a soldier in the Republic of Korea (ROK). This incident occurred when a Chinese ARMY, eager to stay updated on BTS‘s time in the military, accidentally signed up as a soldier on The Camp.

Developed by the ROK Army, The Camp is an app that allows civilians to stay in touch with young men who have enlisted in the South Korean military for their mandatory service. Fans of celebrities who are serving use it to receive updates, share messages of support, and connect with their favorites indirectly through the app. They can also use it to track how many days a soldier has left until the end of their enlistment.

News of what happened to the Chinese ARMY quickly spread online. At the time, she had been “serving” for nearly 100 days because, try as she might, she couldn’t figure out how to delete her account or undo her registration as a soldier. On Weibo, a China-based social media platform, the Chinese ARMY shared a screenshot of the app. Instead of showing how many days the BTS members have left in the military, The Camp displayed her own “enlistment” without a recognized name.

The fandom couldn’t contain their laughter as the fan shared her predicament, seeking advice on how to get out of it. Fans found the incident endearing, jokingly noting that the Chinese ARMY would be “discharged” in “564 days.”

BTS is no longer on The Camp

As of this writing, all seven BTS members are currently serving in the South Korean military. Jin was first to enlist on December 13, 2022, followed by j-hope on April 18, 2023. Both will complete their service this year, with Jin‘s discharge scheduled for June and j-hope‘s for October. SUGA, who enlisted on September 22, 2023, as a social worker due to a previous injury, is set to be discharged in June 2025. Finally, Jimin, Jungkook, RM, and V recently began their service in earnest after completing basic training. They’ll return to the music scene after 18 months.

@joan_kim30

“The Camp Mall”, a commerce channel of The Camp, sold a doll & name sign as a package using BTS members’ real names. The doll was sold at a high price of 56,000 won per unit. The agency believes that the artist’s name also corresponds to IP. In response to Hybe’s complaint, the management company of The Camp dropped its BTS-related posts and stopped selling brand name tags for artists. However, the BTS community is known to be still operating except for the name of “Official.” The camp reportedly protested that the community was created voluntarily by fans, not by the management company hybe officials said “Using IP of artists who joined the military, shakes the foundation of the entertainment industry that has invested a lot of money to discover and develop artists. We can never give indulgence just because it is a start-up” Hybe “In fact, it is a trick to continue take advantage of the promotional effect of the company leaning on BTS’ fandom and it is an expression of its willingness to continue free rides.” Meanwhile, The Camp did not make an official position by responding “We have nothing to say” ’The Camp’ is not owned by gov but by a startup company named Enable Daon Soft Co., Ltd. The service is in collab with South Korean Army with the aim of contributing to the communication between the military and society.“ The Camp is an integrated support service related to military service and military service, providing useful services for soldiers before enlisting, serving in the military, and after being discharged from the military.” (From their website) #BTS #jungkook #seokjin #jhope #rm #yoongi #taehyung #jimin #hybe

♬ Epilogue: Young Forever – BTS

Even if the Chinese ARMY hadn’t accidentally signed up as a soldier, she wouldn’t have been able to keep tabs on them using the app. Following a conflict involving BTS’s Intellectual Property (IP) rights, The Camp removed the BTS members from its “Recommended Star Soldier” list. HYBE Corporation had issued a warning against the app’s organization on January 9, 2024. They demanded the app adhere to IP regulations and the company’s privacy policies.

This incident highlights the lengths to which fans will go to stay connected with their idols, even if it means accidentally joining the military in the process. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’s Jungkook Wins ‘The Male Artist’ Award at the 2024 PCAs

On February 18, 2024, BTS‘s Jungkook bagged the Male Artist of the Year award at the 49th People’s Choice Awards. The ceremony, which took place in Santa Monica, California, was a night to remember. The Barker Hangar rang with applause and cheers for all who won awards. Hosted by actor Simu Liu, the event was broadcast live on NBC and E! News. A live stream available on Peacock allowed fans to witness the proceedings in real-time.

Jungkook was nominated in four categories, including Pop Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Collaboration Song of the Year. His Male Artist of the Year victory was particularly significant as he became the first Asian to win that particular category at the People’s Choice Awards. He beat out artists like Bad Bunny, Drake, his “3D” collaborator Jack Harlow, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and The Weeknd. This win underscores his popularity, as fan votes determine the outcome of the People’s Choice Awards.

BTS Jung Kook and Stray Kids win People’s Choice Awards

Jungkook continues to make an impact

Fans expressed their joy on social media, congratulating the “Standing Next to You” singer for making history yet again. This victory follows Jungkook‘s win for Collaboration Song of the Year at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards for his song “Left and Right” with Charlie Puth. That means BTS’s golden maknae has two consecutive People’s Choice Awards wins under his belt. It’s remarkable that even as Jungkook serves in the South Korean military, his impact on the international music scene remains strong.

Looking ahead, Jungkook earned nominations in four categories at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1, 2024. He’s up for Best Music Video, Favorite Debut Album, K-Pop Artist of the Year, and K-Pop Song of the Year. Unfortunately, because he’s off in the 5th Infantry Division with fellow BTS member Jimin, he won’t be performing at the ceremony. But that’s fine because Jungkook has a good chance of winning at least one of those awards anyway. Who knows, if the stars align, he could win all four! – K-Pop News Writer

From being named Artist of the Year to being recognized for the dedication of his fans, Jimin‘s haul of trophies this year has filled fans with pride. These achievements are particularly significant as they occur while Jimin is serving in the South Korean military, making the accomplishment even more memorable for fans. Although he’s currently off in the 5th Infantry Division, he continues to rack up awards for his music—a remarkable feat.

Jimin released his first solo mini-album, FACE, on March 24, 2023. The six-track collection had “Like Crazy” as its title track. The album allowed Jimin to stretch himself creatively, especially in terms of his vocal ability. The fact that there are no collaborations on it enables the album to stand as a testament of Jimin’s talent as a soloist. “Like Crazy” and its English version—which also made the album—captivated fans worldwide, becoming Jimin’s first solo No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

DABEME MUSIC AWARDS 2024 – WINNERS

Jimin won awards as a soloist too

Therefore, when Dabeme Pop unveiled the winners of its recent awards ceremony, fans were thrilled to see Jimin win awards as a soloist. But he didn’t earn plaudits only for his solo work. His collaborations also received nods from voters.

Jimin‘s wins at the Dabeme Music Awards included Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year for “VIBE” with Taeyang, Fandom of the Year for PJM, K-Pop Album of the Year for FACE, and K-Pop Idol of the Year. Meanwhile, his work on “Like Crazy” earned him Song of the Year, K-Pop Video of the Year, and Video of the Year.

Jimin‘s success at the Dabeme Music Awards 2024 not only highlights his talent but also the support of his fans. Despite being a relatively new soloist, he has already set numerous records and won many awards, with these nine recognitions from the Dabeme Music Awards being the latest. Winning these awards through fan votes is particularly meaningful, showing that even in his absence, the love and support of his fans remain as strong as ever. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’s j-hope Dropping New Documentary and OST Album Soon

BigHit Music recently unveiled plans for Hope on the Street Vol. 1, a special album that j-hope worked on before enlisting in the South Korean military. This announcement sparked excitement across social media. ARMYs are eagerly awaiting the tracklist, especially amid rumors that Huh Yunjin from LE SSERAFIM recorded a duet with j-hope for the album. While BigHit Music remains tight-lipped about this and other details, fans’ anticipation only grows as the release date approaches.

However, the album is just one part of a larger endeavor. Alongside Hope on the Street Vol. 1, j-hope will release a six-part docuseries titled Hope on the Street. Through this series, viewers will get to go on a journey with j-hope as he travels to New York, Osaka, Paris, Seoul, and his hometown of Gwangju.

According to a press release from his agency, the idol’s goal is to “communicate with local dancers through movement.” BigHit Music describes both the album and the docuseries as deep dives into dance, which lies at the core of j-hope‘s artistic identity. The promotion schedule and teasers for these projects have since been released.

A taste of what’s to come

j-hope first teased this project during an appearance on SUCHWITA, the drinking show hosted by his fellow BTS member SUGA. On the July 18, 2023, episode of the show, he talked about the docuseries and album. He hinted that the digital single he released back in March, “on the street (with J. Cole),” was a taste of what’s to come.

“There’ll be new content about my life called Hope on the Street. It’ll be about my dancing and my story,” he said at the time. “The dancing scene is bigger than you think. It just hasn’t risen up to the surface. But if you really dig into it, there are many talented people and it’s a huge market. I experienced that personally. Although I didn’t go to a lot of cities, I traveled the world and filmed with plenty of amazing dancers. That documentary will come out in 2024. It’s literally like its name, Hope on the Street. It’s just j-hope dancing on the street.”

Since debuting with BTS in 2013 as the group’s main dancer, j-hope has impressed fans worldwide with his dedication and talent. He joined the military on April 18, 2023, and will be discharged on October 17, 2024, after which he can greet fans in person once again.
