Huh Yunjin of K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM couldn’t keep her fangirl feelings at bay as she interacted with jazz singer-songwriter Laufey.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), a fan shared a brief exchange between the LE SSERAFIM member and a fan about Laufey’s music on the platform Werverse.

Yunjin, I would die if you’d cover a Laufey song,” the fan’s comment read. To which Yunjin replied that she’d love to do it.

Initially, the exchange was well-received by fans alone. Some were even giving suggestions as to which Laufey song should Yunjin cover.

However, fans online were surprised when Laufey herself took notice of the exchange. “Wait, what is happening,” the Icelandic vocalist said.

Then, in another surprising development, Yunjin took the reins in explaining the situation using the official LE SSERAFIM account,“Hi. I’m Yunjin. I love you, I love you, I love you,” she wrote.

In her response, Laufey also reciprocated the adoration presented by the K-pop star. “Yunjin, hi! I love you too, let’s sing together sometime,” she said.

A Yunjin x Laufey collaboration?

Since the interaction between the two artists gained traction, both of their fans have expressed their hopes in seeing a possible collaboration.

On social media, the fans are discussing how they’d like to hear a collaboration from two talented artists. Or, if it’s not new music, the fans are also eager for a chance of the two doing a cover of each other’s song, or featuring in remixes or new tracks.

For those unfamiliar, Laufey is a 24-year-old Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter who rose to fame through Island Got Talent and The Voice Iceland. Also known as a jazz prodigy, the singer is famous for her songs that are of jazz tunes. She released her sophomore studio album Bewitched in September.

Meanwhile, Yunjin has also explored doing solo music aside from just being a part of LE SSERAFIM. In 2023, she released her solo digital singles “I =/= DOLL,” “i love you twice,” and “blessing in disguise.”
