Yamashita Tomohisa Invited TXT’s Taehyun to Sing ‘Blue Moment’ OST With Him

TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Kang Taehyun teamed up with Japan’s Yamashita Tomohisa for the soundtrack of the new drama Blue Moment. It follows the lives of the Special Disaster Response Headquarters team, who dedicate their lives to saving people affected by severe meteorological events.

Taehyun lent his vocals to a song titled “Perfect Storm,” the lyrics of which Tomohisa wrote. His approach was thoughtful, weaving appropriate references into the OST to mirror the series’ narrative. “Because this drama is about saving people through meteorology, I made sure to include many words related to nature and weather in the lyrics,” explained the Japanese actor-singer. “I included hope that even if covered by dark clouds, there is light above, hoping it would synergize well with the drama.”

Yamashita Tomohisa, who also goes by his nickname Yamapi, is a prominent Japanese celebrity. Born on April 9, 1985, in Chiba, Japan, his difficult childhood led him to find solace in acting and music from a very young age. He started his career with Johnny’s and Associates, where he became part of the boy band NEWS before leaving in 2011 to go solo. He released successful albums and singles like “Seishun Amigo.”

In 1998, he made his acting debut in the drama Shonentachi, which was followed by roles in Nobuta wo Produce, Kurosagi, and Code Blue. In Blue Moment, he plays Kankuro Haruhara, the chief weather researcher at the Special Disaster Response Headquarters. His character uses his knowledge of meteorology to stay ahead of the curve during difficult times.

Throughout his career, Tomohisa has participated in high-profile collaborations and concerts that solidified his status as a major player in the Asian entertainment scene. This duet with Taehyun is the latest in a long line of successful musical partnerships with the likes of Namie Amuro.

I sang with all my might, so please look forward to the broadcast!”

SEVENTEEN Challenges Gender Norms in ‘17 IS RIGHT HER’ Concept Photos

In the lead-up to their upcoming greatest hits album, 17 IS RIGHT HERE, K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN is breaking new ground, not only in their music but also in fashion and societal norms. The boys have created quite a stir by incorporating skirts into their concept photos. By doing so, SEVENTEEN is challenging traditional ideas about what is appropriate or expected for men to wear. That’s no small feat in a conservative country like South Korea.

The members who opted to wear skirts are Jeonghan, Jun, Mingyu, and The8. The concept photos for the new album involve SEVENTEEN revisiting iconic concepts and songs they did in the past. Jeonghan, the group’s second-eldest member, chose to embody “Super” from their SEVENTEEN 10th Mini Album FML. He wore a suit and varsity jacket to go with the skirt.

Jun went for a skirt that matched his statement shirt and the texture of his blazer, while Mingyu sported a skirt that matched the pattern and texture of his tartan suit. Finally, The8 portrayed their 2023 hit “God of Music.” He paired his skirt with a suit and jacket. Their sartorial choices has been met with enthusiasm from fans and netizens alike, who appreciate the group’s efforts to push the boundaries of gender-specific fashion.

SEVENTEEN set themselves apart with the skirts

SEVENTEEN‘s decision to incorporate skirts into their wardrobe aligns with a growing trend in fashion where lines are becoming more and more blurry.

In a country known for its conservatism, especially regarding gender norms and presentation, SEVENTEEN’s approach can be seen as a progressive move that sparks discussions about gender identity and expression. This choice not only sets the group apart from their peers, but it also aligns with global conversations on diversity and inclusivity. It may even increase their appeal to international audiences who value such qualities.

By adopting such styles, the 13-member boy group not only showcases their unique artistic vision but also prompts a wider conversation within South Korea itself, potentially influencing perceptions and acceptance of non-traditional gender presentations in broader culture. – K-Pop News Writer

He’s 182cm tall, his blood type is B, and his MBTI type is ISTP, which indicates a practical and private nature.

Dohoon graduated from Hanlim Entertainment Arts School. His MBTI type is ISTP, indicating a practical and private nature. A sports enthusiast who loves watching soccer, he’s a huge fan of Liverpool FC. Dohoon also has an interest in fashion—in fact, the other TWS members call him the group’s trendsetter. They also signed to Universal Music Group (UMG) for global promotions.

Dohoon and Greg have a big age gap

Netizens started comparing Dohoon and Greg when some fans noticed they both have angular jaws, distinct puppy eyes, and porcelain skin. While some fans feel that they don’t look alike, others have said, “I thought of Greg as soon as I saw Dohoon!” Their physical resemblance aside, they have one stark difference: their 15-year age gap. Greg was born in 1990, which makes him 34 years old. Dohoon was born in 2005, so he’s only 19 years old.

Fan-Favorite ‘Produce X 101’ Contestants Reunite on ‘The King of Mask Singer’

A recent episode of MBC’s The King of Mask Singer turned into a nostalgia fest for fans of Mnet’s 2019 survival show Produce X 101. During the broadcast, two contestants named Win After Win and Two Outs in the Ninth Inning captured the audience’s attention with their singing. They delivered a heartfelt cover of One More Chance’s “Thinking of You.”

[복면가왕] ‘승승장구’ VS ‘9회말 2아웃’의 1라운드 무대 – 널 생각해, MBC 240414 방송

The show’s celebrity panelists speculated that Two Outs in the Ninth Inning might be an idol because of his controlled, impressive vocals. DRIPPIN’s Cha Jun Ho, a former Produce X 101 contestant, went one better, saying he recognized the voice instantly. “It’s been a long time,” he addressed Two Outs in the Ninth Inning, hinting at their previous connection from their survival show days. “We used to run into each other all the time, and our groups’ members know each other very well. As soon as he sang his first line, I thought of him immediately.”

Although he gave it his all, Two Outs in the Ninth Inning lost the round to Win After Win. He performed a soulful cover of 10cm’s “Stalker.” Halfway through the song, he dramatically revealed his identity by removing his mask. Two Outs in the Ninth Inning turned out to be none other than CRAVITY’s Koo Jungmo, who also competed on Produce X 101 alongside Cha Jun Ho five years ago.

They have come a long way since ‘Produce X 101’

The CRAVITY member’s unmasking wasn’t just a surprise for the audience or his old friend, but it was also a moment of personal reflection for Jungmo. “Before I started training to become an idol, my dream was to become a flight attendant,” he explained. “So my relatives expect me to become one, which was a lot of pressure, so I didn’t tell them I became an idol instead. They think I’m a college student who just changes my hair color a lot.”

Now fully embracing his career as an idol, Jungmo expressed his aspirations for his group’s future. This year, I’d also like for CRAVITY to come out with a hit song that people immediately think of when they hear the name ‘CRAVITY.’”

BTS’s Jungkook Starts an Instagram Account for His Beloved Dog Bam

BTS’s Jungkook has returned to Instagram in an unexpected yet endearing fashion. Last year, to the dismay of ARMYs worldwide, he deactivated his personal Instagram account. However, he recently announced on Weverse that he had signed up for a new account—not for himself, but to showcase his beloved dog.

BTS fans first met Jungkook’s doberman, Bam, during season two of the reality show In The SOOP. Bam was introduced as a new member of Jungkook’s family in the series, which premiered on October 15, 2021.

Jungkook and Bam Moments – BTS In The SOOP 2 EP 1

With the handle @bowwow_bam, the account describes Jungkook as “Bam’s dad” in the bio. It also features a cute, playful pun, “Have a good BAM,” which cleverly uses the Korean word “bam.” This word means “night” and is written as “밤” in Hangul. Jungkook’s new Instagram account offers fans a glimpse into his interactions with Bam, shedding light on a more personal side of BTS’s youngest member.

Bam is so adorable that he became an instant star on the platform. Since its inception, Bam’s Instagram has amassed over 900,000 followers in less than a day. The account has seven posts to date, all of which show Bam either posing like a model or proving that he’s just as athletic as his dad. ARMYs couldn’t help but gush about Bam in the comments, with one calling him “a handsome kid” and saying Jungkook must be proud of him.

Should Jungkook limit who can leave comments?

Sadly, not every comment is that nice or polite. While many enjoy being able to communicate with Jungkook indirectly through Bam, others have used the comments section to press the BTS member to issue statements on global issues. Some want him to speak up about the Israel-Palestine conflict, specifically regarding HYBE Labels’ ties to music executive Scooter Braun, who has been accused of Zionism. Others have left awful comments, which contrast sharply with the wholesome content of Bam’s posts.

This prompted fans to suggest that Jungkook adjust the settings of Bam’s Instagram account to limit who can comment on his posts. That’s what the other BTS members did with their accounts; they only allow people they follow to leave comments on their photos and videos.

But overall, the response to Bam’s presence on Instagram is largely positive. ARMYs are hoping that the awful comments won’t turn Jungkook (and Bam) off the platform entirely. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’s j-hope Poses for Photos at ROK Military Music and Honor Guard Festival

On April 12, the Republic of Korea (ROK) Army held the 2024 Military Music and Honor Guard Festival at the 36th Infantry Division in Gangwon-do. That day, BTS’s j-hope, who is currently serving as one of the division’s assistant instructors, became the center of attention. The festival, which featured military bands and honor guards from various divisions, highlighted j-hope’s popularity not just in the music scene, but also within the military.

Dressed in his military uniform, j-hope engaged enthusiastically with those who attended the event. He posed for photos with everyone who asked. He also displayed humility and respect for his fellow soldiers when he bowed to them. Photos and videos from the event, capturing him with male and female personnel from different military units, made the rounds on SNS.

He earned significant attention and praise from ARMYs and locals alike. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to celebrate the HOPE ON THE STREET star, using terms like “Captain Korea,” “main character,” and “Our Sunshine” to describe his impactful presence. They also called j-hope “Superstar of the ROK Army.”

j-hope continues to make waves

Since enlisting on April 18, 2023, j-hope has quickly adapted to military life. Aside from serving as an assistant instructor for the 36th Infantry Division, he was also named a special forces soldier. He also earned an early promotion to the rank of sergeant due to his proficiency in first aid and marksmanship. j-hope was also praised for his performance as a platoon leader last year.

j-hope continues to make waves in the music scene, even while he’s away in the military, thanks to previously recorded content that’s only now being released. His latest album, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1, coincided with the debut of his reality show by the same name. This album quickly climbed to the top of the US Section of the Hanteo National Charts in the second week of April. It achieved a composite index of 7320.78 points.

The premiere of j-hope’s documentary HOPE ON THE STREET at midnight on March 28 was followed by the album’s release at 1:00 PM on March 29. The buzz continued with the launch of a pop-up store on March 30, where j-hope personally made an appearance. He posted a series of photos at the venue on Instagram.

Fans went wild when they saw that photo because such posts from the BTS members are rare these days due to their ongoing military service. Fortunately, j-hope stans won’t have to wait long to see him in the flesh again, as he’s set to be discharged this October. – K-Pop News Writer

Phone Case Brand Slammed for Secretly Auctioning Off Stray Kids’ Clothes

After a recent fan signing event in Japan, Stray Kids and their fans, STAYs, were dragged into a controversy involving SLBS, a prominent phone case brand and the group’s sponsor. Apparently, SLBS conducted a secret auction to sell clothes worn by the Stray Kids members. This sparked significant outrage among fans and raised questions about privacy and consent.

The incident occurred after the artists and their staff had left the venue. Unbeknownst to the group and their management, SLBS auctioned off the clothes worn by the members during the event. The auction was conducted without any prior consent from JYP Entertainment, leading to an uproar when the details came to light.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their discontent, calling for accountability and transparency from both JYP Entertainment and SLBS. They demanded a clear explanation for the unauthorized auction of the members’ clothing, which many viewed as a violation of the artists’ personal and professional boundaries.

A rift between SLBS and Stray Kids

SLBS issued a public apology on Twitter. “We sincerely apologize for the incident and to everyone that had been deeply hurt and disturbed by it, including the attendees, fans who had learned about what had happened through social media, and most importantly, the artist, agency, and all interested parties,” SLBS wrote.

The company explained that they held the auction as a surprise, thinking it would be a nice thing to do for the fans. However, the backlash opened their eyes to the fact that it was completely inappropriate. Expressing regret for the oversight, SLBS said all items sold at the auction would be retrieved. Also, they said all buyers would get a refund.

Despite the apology, many fans felt that the brand’s response was insufficient. Fans argued that it did little to address the issue. Furthermore, the apology disappeared after only a few days. Some also noted that Stray Kids didn’t use their SLBS phone cases during their latest live broadcast, hinting at a potential rift between them and the brand. This observation led to calls for JYP Entertainment to terminate their contract with SLBS, reflecting the depth of STAYs’ displeasure and the perceived breach of trust. – K-Pop News Writer

NCT’s Doyoung Offers a Sneak Peek at His Apartment on ‘I Live Alone’

NCT’s Doyoung recently gave fans a long-awaited look into his home on I Live Alone. The April 19 episode of the show confirmed what NCTzens have long suspected. After moving out of the NCT dorms, where he lived with his bandmates for many years, Doyoung has been living independently for about six months.

His appearance on I Live Alone showed that he’s as happy as a clam in his own space, which he set up according to his preferences and lifestyle. His living room, where he spends a lot of time chilling in front of the TV, is completely devoid of clutter. It also has a large double-door fridge that hints at his love for cooking and staying in.

Doyoung revealed, “I used to live in a dorm then, when my older brother began his military service, I lived with my family for a while before I decided to move out and live on my own. I wanted to have houseplants no matter what, and I also enjoy collecting incense and perfume. I relieve stress by buying what I like.”

That said, he chose to decorate his home in a minimalist style. For instance, his bedroom is neatly separated from his living area. There’s not much in it, either, except for the essentials—a closet, a double bed, and nothing else. This simplicity underscores his practical approach to living independently.

DOYOUNG treating his body with supplements and mental health with beer

His daily routine, dietary habits, and more

During the show, Doyoung didn’t stop at sharing his personal space with fans. He also opened up about his daily routine and offered fans insight into his dietary habits to boot. For instance, he drinks sword bean tea and water extracted from maple trees. Sword bean tea contains compounds that may stimulate the nervous system by maintaining levels of crucial brain chemicals like dopamine and serotonin, which enhance focus and energy. It’s also believed to be an antioxidant and has properties that make it beneficial for one’s liver. Meanwhile, maple water is known for its hydration capabilities, which can aid post-exercise recovery due to its electrolyte content.

He also likes to chow down on dried abalone, which is known for its health benefits, especially in Asian cultures where it’s valued for its ability to support healthy eyes and skin. It’s an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce the risk of heart disease and arthritis. Omega-3s are also believed to reduce the risk of developing certain cancers. Furthermore, dried abalone is rich in iodine. It also has phosphorus, which plays an important role in how the body uses carbohydrates and fats, and is necessary for the body to make protein for the growth, maintenance, and repair of cells and tissues .

NCT 127 DOYOUNG’s obsession with dating shows

Doyoung is preparing for a busy season

Doyoung also revealed that he’s obsessed with dating shows. He watches them while he does household chores. “They can be stressful, and sometimes I feel frustrated. But there is definitely also dopamine,” he says. When asked if he envies ordinary citizens because they can date whoever they want, he responded in the negative. “I don’t imagine myself in those situations. I am an idol, after all. I don’t feel a single ounce of jealousy.”

The response from fans to Doyoung’s reveal was overwhelmingly positive. Comments from fans like “Crazy, Kim Doyoung” and “It’s exactly like how fans imagine him to be LOL. Cute” flooded social media.

In addition to his television appearance, Doyoung is preparing for a busy season ahead. He will hold a solo concert, Dear Youth, on May 25 and 26. It follows the release of his debut solo album Youth on April 22. The album features ten tracks that Doyoung says “contain the variety of emotions of youth.”

Moon Sua and Suhyeon Return to Billlie After Health-Related Hiatus

Moon Sua and Suhyeon of the K-pop group Billlie are officially returning to work after taking a break due to health issues. Mystic Story, their management company, shared this positive development with fans through a heartfelt announcement on the group’s fan club website.

The agency expressed gratitude for the concern and unwavering support fans showed while the girls were away. “Both took a hiatus due to health issues, but after extensive rest and stabilization, their condition has greatly improved,” the company wrote. Mystic Story added that they made the decision to bring the girls back considering their condition and the advice of their doctors.

Moon Sua took to Weverse on Friday to update fans. She opened up about how she spent her break engaging in activities that brought her joy and comforted her, like traveling, spending time with friends, enjoying good food, and staying active. “I would think of Belllie’ve”—Billlie’s fans—”from time to time after looking at pretty things. I decided to return as a stronger person” she wrote.

Billlie will be a full group again

She first went on hiatus in April 2023 after the untimely passing of her brother, ASTRO’s Moonbin. When he was laid to rest, Moon Sua put on a brave face and returned to work. But she crumbled and went on hiatus again in September because losing her oppa took a major toll on her. Thankfully, the surviving ASTRO members—namely Cha Eun-woo, JinJin, and Sanha—rallied around her. In October 2023, Eun-woo posted photos from a trip they took together. The photos showed all four of them, including Moon Sua, in high spirits, which elicited positive reactions from fans.

Meanwhile, Suhyeon is making her comeback after a 10-month hiatus, which began in June due to health issues. Her return is eagerly anticipated by fans, who have missed seeing her in the group. As both she and Moon Sua join the other members, Billlie and Mystic Story emphasize that the safety and well-being of their artists will continue to be a priority.
