After completing their mandatory military enlistment, Korean band DAY6 is gearing up for a special year-end reunion concert.

According to agency JYP Entertainment, DAY6 will be staging three solo concerts in December. Titled The Present: You are My Day, the concerts are scheduled to take place at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seongbuk District, northern Seoul, on December 22, 23, and 24.

This upcoming concert holds great significance as it marks the first time for the band to perform together since December 2019. For the past four years, the members have embarked on their respective military service obligations, with Wonpil being the last to be discharged.

During their time away from the stage, DAY6′s existing songs, such as “You Were Beautiful” and “Time of Our Life,” experienced a resurgence in popularity, attracting new fans alongside their dedicated existing fanbase.

Moreover, the upcoming concert also promises to showcase live stages that have never been unveiled before. As a result, there are high expectations for the group’s upcoming concert.

DAY6 on their reunion

Between 2019 and 2023, the DAY6 members have finished their individual military services.

In September 2022, leader, vocalist, and guitarist Sungjin completed his enlistment. Meanwhile, vocalist and bassist Young K got discharged in April 2023 and drummer Dowoon finished his duty in July 2023. Lastly, Wonpil, who’s in charge of keyboards and vocals, completed his service in late November. Notably, Wonpil is also known to be the first idol singer to have served in the navy

After his enlistment, the DAY6 members reunited in the Kiss The Radio show. During the live radio broadcast, Wonpil expressed his gratitude to their fans who waited for them for a very long time. “The best we can do to repay you is through a good album and performance. We’re doing our best to achieve that,” he said.

Moreover, the members also got candid about what changed after their enlistment. “I think my personality’s gotten better, not my personality but mindset,” Dowoon said. “After enlisting, I realized that I can actually live the way I want without regrets.”

Debuting under JYP Entertainment, DAY6 is known for their hit songs “Congratulations” and “Zombie” among others. Since Jae left the group in January 2022, the band has been promoting with four members.
