TREASURE to Embark on 2024 Relay Tour REBOOT in Asia

The 10-member boy group will start the 2024 TREASURE RELAY TOUR [REBOOT] in May. YG Entertainment’s surprise announcement on the 20th sparked excitement among Treasure Makers worldwide. Treasure Makers, aka Teumes, are the loyal fans of Asahi, Choi Hyun-suk, Doyoung, Haruto, Jihoon, Junkyu, Park Jeong-woo, So Jung-hwan, Yoshi, and Yoon Jae-hyuk.

TREASURE – TOUR [REBOOT] OPENING TRAILER

The tour gives the boy group a fresh opportunity to connect with their audience. TREASURE will hit five cities over eight shows. They’ll kick things off in Manila, Philippines on May 4, then head north to Hong Kong on May 18. From there, they’ll do three concerts in Bangkok, Thailand on May 24, 25, and 26 before flying to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 22. Their last two concerts will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 29 and 30. YG Entertainment will post further details, including ticketing information, in due time.

This tour follows 2023’s TREASURE TOUR [HELLO] and comes after the group’s successful comeback with their 2ND FULL ALBUM ‘REBOOT.’ In music, the word “reboot” implies a new beginning in an artist’s career, suggesting a departure from their previous work to explore different concepts or themes. That’s exactly what TREASURE did. They presented themselves in a new light on that album, and it sold over a million copies in South Korea alone. 2ND FULL ALBUM ‘REBOOT’ also went to No. 1 in Japan, and one of its B-sides, “B.O.M.B,” topped the US Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart.

YG Entertainment said, “The global fans’ response to TREASURE’s ‘REBOOT’ activities was hotter than ever, and we’ve been preparing for a long time to reciprocate this support. The members are also diligently preparing for a perfect tour, so we ask for your high expectations.”

In other news, TREASURE also unveiled a second teaser for their upcoming project, the reality show Shining SOLO. It’s set to premiere at 12:30 AM KST on March 3 via SBS. It will be simulcast in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. TREASURE Teases New Project ‘Shining SOLO’

On February 14, YG Entertainment‘s official Twitter account set the stage for TREASURE‘s newest project, a reality show titled Shining SOLO. The teaser immediately caught fans’ attention. Comparisons were drawn to the popular dating show I Am Solo, leading many to wonder if this new show would follow a similar format.

An insider added fuel to the fire by leaking some information about the boy group’s upcoming content slate. They revealed that TREASURE really did film a dating show. According to the leak, this show will feature the members splitting into teams of five and going on dates with six influencers. “Final couples” will be chosen at the end. Rumors also suggest a segment where three women will explore the TREASURE members’ charms. While it’s true that fans have seen some members on public “dates,” these dating show rumors still stand unconfirmed.

Despite the lack of official details, the teaser offers a glimpse into the romantic, mysterious vibe of Shining SOLO. Featuring the aurora borealis in the night sky, casting a greenish-purple glow on the large house below, the poster creates a romantic atmosphere that perfectly complements the phrase “Which gem (treasure) boy is yours?”.

What else is TREASURE up to?

TREASURE has consistently engaged fans with a variety of self-produced content, where they showcase their versatility and charm. From Boys’ High School Mystery to TMI-LOG and TREASURE MAP, the 10-member boy group has demonstrated a knack for variety entertainment. Shining SOLO promises to be a fantastic addition to this list. In other news, TREASURE is in the midst of their second Japanese tour, 2024 TREASURE TOUR [REBOOT] IN JAPAN. This tour has taken them all over the country, to Aichi, Osaka, Fukui, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, and Saitama. Their last stop will be at the K-Arena Yokohama, where they’ll play back-to-back shows on March 2 and 3.

The bond between the members of TREASURE was once again on full display as they came together to support Junghwan at his high school graduation from the prestigious School of Performing Arts (SOPA). On February 7, Junghwan marked a significant milestone in his life as he completed his high school education, and his fellow TREASURE members were there every step of the way to celebrate his achievement.

As Junghwan’s name was called during the graduation ceremony, the members of TREASURE stood on the sidelines, proudly holding banners and cheering him on with unwavering enthusiasm. Their visible support and encouragement were a heartwarming testament to the strong bond and camaraderie shared among the group.

In a touching moment captured on camera, the members of TREASURE could be seen waving their banners and shouting words of encouragement as Junghwan stood on stage. YG Entertainment Plans To Launch Another Group in 2024

It seems like powerhouse K-pop label YG Entertainment has big plans for 2024. According to its founder Yang Hyun-suk, their plans for the year include launching a new group. And, the director said, it might not even be limited to one group only!

“We are setting a goal to announce at least one new group within this year,” YG Entertainment said in a press release. Furthermore, the agency announced that this project aims to discover and nurture global rookies selected through both local and overseas auditions.

In 2023, it can be recalled that YG Entertainment has announced that they will be holding auditions throughout South Korea in 2024. Currently, the agency has kicked off their National Audition Tour in early January. Moreover, the audition is set to make stops at different parts of the country.

Although there’s no official details yet about the said group, fans are anticipating to have another addition to the growing family of YG Entertainment. To recall, the agency is home to powerhouse K-pop acts such as WINNER, BLACKPINK and AKMU. Among their rookie groups are TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. 

As for their previous artists, the list includes BIGBANG, 2NE1, EPIK HIGH, and iKON.

YG Entertainment and its plans for existing groups

To ensure that 2024 is a successful year in terms of both music and profit, Yang added that they plan to secure new growth engines through their artists’ activities this year. 

As for the agency’s existing groups, Yang made the surprise announcement of Ahyeon’s return to BABYMONSTER. To recall, the rookie girl group debuted with only six members in November. At the time, the agency notified the public of Ahyeon’s hiatus for health reasons.

Initially, BABYMONSTER is slated to release the new digital single “Stuck in the Middle” in February. After that, the group has earlier announced their plans for a mini-EP. With Ahyeon returning, Yang said that the album will be re-recorded with all seven members. 

As for its boy group TREASURE, Yang announced that the 10-member act will start preparing new music after touring. Currently, the “B.O.M.B” singers are in the midst of their second Japanese Tour Reboot, with its last stop scheduled in late February.

However, the agency notably didn’t disclose any details about upcoming plans for BLACKPINK. In early January, it was confirmed that the four members—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—didn’t renew their individual contracts with the agency. Although, YG Entertainment has earlier announced that all group activities will still be handled by them.

TREASURE Launches ‘Double Donation’ Campaign for Youth

K-pop boy group TREASURE and label YG Entertainment are welcoming the new year with a noble cause! 

On Wednesday, January 3, YG Entertainment announced that the boy group TREASURE will be participating in Naver’s Happy Bean Double Donation Program.

To note, the said program is a donation-participating service where companies donate the same amount of funds the campaign has raised.

According to YG Entertainment, they aim to raise a total of 60 Million Won for the campaign. The amount which will be collected until the end of the month will be used to support children and adolescents’ needs, including education support, medical care, art programs, and other categories.

“We hope the children and teenagers can grow up in an environment where they can dream and experience as much as they want,” TREASURE said in a press release. “We hope that our assistance can enable them to take a step forward,” the “DARARI” singers added.

In the group’s X account, the idols also encouraged their fans, Treasure Makers or Teumes, to participate in the program. “We ask for your interest in the double fundraising box that we personally selected,” they said.

On social media, the group’s fanbase shared that they are proud of TREASURE for initiating the warm gesture. Moreover, several fans called them “best boys.” One fan even said “I really stan the right group.”

More about TREASURE

Originally a 12-member group, TREASURE made their debut in February 2020 with the track “Boy.” For those unfamiliar, the band was formed through the reality-survival program Treasure Box in 2019.

Currently, TREASURE is composed of 10 members: Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Jeongwoo, and Junghwan. In November 2022, YG Entertainment announced that members Bang Ye-Dam and Mashiho officially parted ways with the group.

With their four years in the K-pop scene, TREASURE has gained recognition for their upbeat music. In their powerful discography, they are most known for bop tracks “Bona Bona,” “Hello,” “Jikjin,” among others.

Moreover, the group had its latest comeback in July 2023 with the release of their second full-length album REBOOT. In the same month, TREASURE’s first official sub-unit, T5, was revealed. Composed of Jihoon, Junkyu, Jaehyuk, Doyoung and Junghwan, T5 exhibited their dancing skills with the release of their first single “Move.”

In 2024, the 10-piece act is set to light up the Japan stage as they are bound to perform in multiple cities for their REBOOT concert tour.

Bang Ye Dam Opens up About Leaving YG Entertainment, TREASURE

Bang Ye Dam has shed light on his departure from YG Entertainment and his decision to embark on a solo career. He also dispelled fans’ speculations about group dynamics within the now 10-member act TREASURE.

In a recent interview with Korean media, the 21-year-old singer addressed his departure from the agency, along with his continued connection with his former teammates. Moreover, he also elaborated on his solo debut album, ONLY ONE. 

To recall, Bang Ye Dam‘s journey to debut as a solo artist was highly anticipated since his commendable performances on the reality competition show K-Pop Star 2 in 2012 and 2013. After being a trainee for several years, he participated in the reality program YG Treasure Box, where the group TREASURE was formed. In August 2020, TREASURE made their official debut as a 12-member group.

However, in May 2022, YG Entertainment announced that Ye Dam, along with Mashiho, would be taking a hiatus from group activities. According to the agency,  Ye Dam would be focusing on his career as a producer and dedicating time to study music. 

In November 2022, YG Entertainment confirmed that both Ye Dam and Mashiho were parting ways with the agency.

Many fans were surprised at his departure, as Ye Dam had been with YG Entertainment for nine years. Seven of these were with him as a trainee and two years as a member of TREASURE. 

On leaving YG Entertainment and TREASURE

Although he left YG Entertainment, Bang Ye Dam shared that he learned a lot under the agency. “As a trainee, I refined my color and gained a lot of experience,” he said. The idol also explained that his desire to develop his skill as a producer has led to his official departure.

Moreover, the focus on his role in TREASURE following the announcement of his debut in the group became “really heavy” for him, as admitted by the artist.

Despite these, Ye Dam emphasized that there is no animosity between him and his former TREASURE members. He clarified that they remain in contact, offering mutual support despite his busy schedule with the album.

“I always contact and keep in touch with the members. Recently, I haven’t been able to contact them well because I’ve been preparing for the album, but the members cheer me on a lot and ask how I’m doing,” he said. 

Bang Ye Dam as a solo artist

As he officially makes his solo debut, the idol shares that he feels “liberated” to be given the freedom to be heavily involved in the creation of his music. 

When asked what he wants fans to see in his solo album,  he said: “I wanted to show what color I have, what kind of music I want to do, and how good I am. It’s filled with music that’s for the general public and looking at it, I tried to show my sense of music and vocal skills.”

Currently, Ye Dam is under the agency GF Entertainment.
