Jessi Departs From Jay Park’s Agency MORE VISION

On January 31, MORE VISION announced that rapper Jessi will be parting ways with the agency

In a notice posted through the label’s social media accounts, they informed the fans that both parties have mutually concluded to terminate the exclusive management contract. “MORE VISION will wholeheartedly continue to support JESSI’s endeavors,” they added.

Notably, it has only been nine months since the “Zoom” singer has been with the entertainment company launched by her fellow artist Jay Park. After joining the label in April 2023, Jessi has released the digital single “Gum” and participated in the remix of Dynamic Duo’s “Smoke.”

Furthermore, speculations that Jessi will be leaving the agency started circulating in December 2023. Several reports claimed that both parties have considered terminating their contract. However, both parties have addressed the rumors, with Jay Park and Jessi even saying that they’re on good terms.

With Jessi departure, Honey J and the Holy Bang dance crew remain as the only artists under MORE VISION, aside from Jay Park.

Jessi hints on her next plans

After announcing that she is no longer with MORE VISION, Jessi immediately dropped hints of her next moves on social media.

On her personal Instagram account, the rapper posted an intriguing photo that simply said “Stay Tuned.” In the caption, Jessi wrote: “The time is NOW!  #BOSSMAMA”.

Moreover,  the rapper  shared a link for her new page “JessiNotPlayin,” which raised fans’ speculations that she is gearing up to launch her own label soon. If this is true, her next step is even more thrilling considering she’s been moving from one agency to another in the past.

Prior to parting ways with MORE VISION, Jessi first signed a contract with PSY’s record label, P Nation in 2019. After releasing a couple of hits and making appearances in multiple variety shows, the rapper decided to not renew her three-year contract with the agency and left P Nation in July 2022.

Although there are no confirmations yet, fans are already looking forward to seeing the possibilities of the 35-year-old star handling her own activities.

Responding to the reports, MORE VISION stated, “We’re checking [the facts],” offering a brief comment on the situation. However, both JAY PARK and JESSI decided to take to their Instagram Stories on December 7 to finally address the rumors and reassure fans who have been concerned.

Park shared a photo of himself with JESSI, writing, “Me and Jessi [are] good. No need to worry. There is no such thing as discord.”

For her part, JESSI also responded, saying, “Just arrived in NY… and woke up to this Nonsense… Y’all need to get a life for real. We all good over here. Happy Holidays Guys!”

The controversy arose when JESSI canceled her appearance on KBS2’s “Music Bank” on October 27, citing health issues. She subsequently missed appearances on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” and SBS’s “Inkigayo” due to health problems. The sudden cancellations and JESSI’s departure from her usual active participation during album promotions raised questions about the situation.

Jay Park Shares Initial Worries About GOT7’s Jay B and Yugyeom

GOT7 members Jay B and Yugyeom have found new companies after their departure from JYP Entertainment. However, Jay Park admits he was initially uncertain about accepting the two idols into H1GHR Music and AOMG, respectively.

Jay Park Reveals True Feelings About Working With GOT7’s Jay B and Yugyeom

Jay Park had previously spoken to Jay B in a special video shared on the H1GHR Music YouTube channel. During their conversation, the former 2PM rapper admitted to the GOT7 leader that he had some concerns about Jay B and Yugyeom joining Park’s labels.

As well as Yugyeom and you, I was slightly worried,” Park said. “If we were to collaborate on music, would it synergize? And can we produce something great?

He added, “So no matter how much you like this style of music and how long it’s been, your main job was being an idol for 7 years. So I thought would we be able to work together.”

Although he was initially unsure, Park claims that Jay B made those worries disappear when they began working together. The “Bestie” rapper explained that he realized things will work out when they worked on Jay B’s solo single “Switch It Up”.

“When you and Cha Cha Malone and I started our first studio session, it was more fun than expected and the songwriting went well. The product also came out great and the vocals were very solid,” Jay Park said.

“The moment I asked for any tweaks or changes, you did it right away,” he continued. “That made it very enjoyable. Your openness and ability to quickly adapt. That impressed me so much.”

Jay B and Yugyeom, as well as the rest of GOT7, left JYP Entertainment in 2021. Jay B signed on to H1GHR Music in May that year and moved to CDNZA Records when his contract expired in 2022.

Yugyeom signed with AOMG in February 2021. His latest single “Ponytail” was released in January 2023.
