While many of these encounters result in heartwarming and funny exchanges, a recent video call featuring SEVENTEEN’s Vernon caught the attention of fans for an unexpected reason.

In this particular video call, which took place during SEVENTEEN’s “Super” promotion period, Vernon was chatting with an English-speaking fan. The fan introduced the concept, mentioning the Kardashian family, and playfully exaggerated her speech, almost moaning as she talked. She informed Vernon that her birthday was approaching, and she asked him for a birthday gift in a playful manner.

Vernon responded with humor, expressing his willingness to provide a gift if she stopped using that exaggerated tone. Both of them shared a laugh, enjoying the playful banter. However, the fan persisted in speaking that way and inquired about Vernon’s thoughts on the concept.

In response, Vernon pulled a funny face and playfully remarked that he “really dislikes it.” The clip ended on this humorous note, leaving fans amused by the exchange.

This video call serves as an example of the entertaining and candid interactions that can occur during fan meetings and video calls with idols. It highlights the playful rapport between idols and their fans, where both parties can share laughter and create memorable moments, even if the results might not always align with the initial expectations.

During a recent appearance on the YouTube show ‘Salon Drip’, hosted by Jang Do Yeon, Hoshi candidly shared he was impressed with the HYBE building.

“I am so thankful that we are a part of HYBE now,” he said. “The company building is so tall, it’s so cool inside when the weather is warm, it’s warm inside when the weather is cold, we can enter with face recognition, they give us transportation wherever we go… it used to be during our debut days that we were always dying of heat when the weather was warm, we were freezing to death when the weather was cold, and we were always cramped with so many people in a small space.”

When asked what is the best thing about being with HYBE, Hoshi pointed out that SEVENTEEN members can now enjoy good food regularly.

“To be honest, there are so many great things about HYBE… but I guess for me, the essentials are important,” he said. “So I ordered ramyeon at the company cafeteria. I was expecting the regular ramyeon, but what I got was ramyeon was topped with abalone and octopus.”

This was clearly an eye-opener for Hoshi. “Right at that moment, I knew that I had to renew with the company,” he declared.

Is SEVENTEEN Signed with HYBE?

While SEVENTEEN is still signed with PLEDIS Entertainment, HYBE Corporation acquired the majority of shares in the label on May 25, 2020, with PLEDIS remaining an independent entity. As a result, technically, SEVENTEEN is signed to both PLEDIS Entertainment and HYBE. In July 2021, all SEVENTEEN members, including Hoshi, renewed their HYBE contract.

Hoshi’s humorous anecdote about escalating meal costs offers a glimpse into the more relatable aspects of being a successful K-pop idol. His decision to continue his journey with HYBE reinforces the strong bond between the members of SEVENTEEN and their commitment to continue creating music together under the label’s banner.

SEVENTEEN’s Dino Confirms Solo Mixtape, OST Are in the Works

Fans of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN are sent into a frenzy when member Dino has finally confirmed that he’ll be releasing several solo works soon. 

Rumors that SEVENTEEN’s youngest member is gearing up for his solo mixtape started when his co-member Hoshi mentioned it during the episode of Waggle Waggle. Interestingly, producer Na Youngseok, or also known as Na PD, also hinted at Dino’s solo activity in a livestream with SEVENTEEN. 

Since speculations about his solo mixtape already went viral on social media, Dino then addressed it in a recent Weverse live. 

Will Dino be the next SEVENTEEN member to release TTT? 

In the livestream, the group’s main dancer confirmed that he’s working on his solo mixtape. 

As PLEDIS Entertainment is yet to make an official announcement about it, Dino said that he won’t reveal other details yet. 

Still, he expressed his excitement for the said release as he recalled how much he’s been dreaming of releasing music as a solo artist. Furthermore, he also assured fans that he really worked hard for his upcoming solo mixtape. And that he drew inspiration from the artists he looked up to, including Michael Jackson. 

With this, CARATs are eagerly anticipating if Dino’s solo mixtape will fall under SEVENTEEN’s TTT project. 

For those unfamiliar, TTT — or The Thirteen Tapes — is a long-term project of SEVENTEEN wherein all 13 members of the group release their solo mixtapes. 

So far, only Hoshi, Woozi, and Vernon had their own TTTs. To recall, Hoshi released Spider in April 2021, Woozi with Ruby in January 2022, and Vernon with Black Eye in December 2022. 

Prior to this upcoming solo mixtape, Dino also has several solo releases including “High-Five,” “Last Order,” “0(Zero) and “The Real Thing.”

But the excitement didn’t stop there as Dino also confirmed that he worked on his first solo drama OST. 

A preview of the SEVENTEEN member singing the OST for the drama Castaway Diva circulated on social media. As of writing, additional details about the said OST have yet to be announced. 

During his livestream, the idol also mentioned that the OST was also a pleasant surprise for him. 

Notably, these solo activities came shortly after SEVENTEEN released their 11th mini-album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. Moreover, the group is also embarking on their concert world tour FOLLOW. 

Despite these loaded schedules, it’s nice to see Dino also pursuing more solo works on his own.

On October 29th, SEVENTEEN took to the stage to perform and record their captivating performance of “God Of Music” at the SBS “Inkigayo” studio. What made this moment particularly memorable was a delightful surprise from Hoshi himself.

In the midst of their performance, a choreographic sequence led Hoshi to the side of the stage. It was at this moment that Hoshi chose to steal even more hearts by spontaneously organizing a mini hi-touch event for the fans present.

As captured in a fan cam video, around the 1:40 mark, Hoshi made his way to the side of the stage, reaching out to the fans and sharing high fives with them. The unexpected and intimate interaction undoubtedly created unforgettable memories for the fortunate fans who were present to witness this spontaneous gesture of affection from Hoshi. With that in mind, CARATs can’t get enough of the fun and exciting possibilities when Hoshi is involved.

In other related news, Hoshi recently offered fans a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes at HYBE building, sharing some interesting insights about the company’s artist-exclusive elevator. In a recent appearance in the latest episode of “Salon Drip”, the SEVENTEEN member shared how the elevator setup led to an endearing encounter with members of a younger group NewJeans.

Despite Hoshi’s confident reputation, he candidly described himself as an “introvert” and admitted to feeling a touch of shyness during the unplanned meeting with the younger girl group. Even when reassured by the NewJeans members that he was welcome to join them in the elevator, Hoshi chose to wait separately, showcasing the genuine and relatable sides of his personality.

NCT’s Taeyong and SEVENTEEN’s Woozi Show Off Adorable Friendship

In the world of K-pop, where talents and friendships often flourish behind the scenes, fans are always eager for glimpses into the personal lives of their favorite idols. Recently, NCT 127‘s Taeyong surprised fans during a live Instagram session by introducing an unexpected guest: SEVENTEEN‘s Woozi. 

As this is the first time that the two idols were seen together, fans couldn’t help but be curious  as to how these two K-pop powerhouses came to know each other. According to Taeyong they became friends because of their mutual passion for creating music. “We became close because we both liked composing music,” he said.

 

Moreover, the NCT 127 leader didn’t shy away from expressing his admiration for Woozi’s capabilities as a producer. During the live session, he revealed that he played some of his work for the SEVENTEEN member, who provided valuable feedback that boosted his confidence. Another proof of their tight friendship was that Taeyong was able to listen to the demo of “God of Music.” 

 

Throughout the live session, the two idols were also wary about dropping spoilers for their still-unannounced activities. At one point, Woozi told Taeyong that SEVENTEEN has imposed a fine for any member who drops spoilers. To which, the SM Entertainment artist was quickly taken aback. Which left Woozi quickly clarifying that it’s more of an inside joke within the group than a strict policy. 

Taeyong x Woozi collaboration?

Aside from the two idols sharing snippets from their daily lives, fans couldn’t help but adore the unexpected friendship between the two. At the start of the Instagram live, the “Super” singer mentioned that it was his first time appearing on someone else’s live stream, and the “Fact Check” singer expressed his honor at having him as a guest.

Moreover, Woozi also treated viewers to a dance to Taeyong’s solo track “Shalala.”  To which, the NCT member suggested that they film a TikTok dance challenge together, preferably their group’s latest comeback “Fact Check“.

And the two did film several dance challenge, proving their genuine bond! On Friday, October 27, they released one video for NCT 127′s “Fact Check“ and two videos for SEVENTEEN’s “God of Music” dance challenge. One video showed them doing the track’s point choreography, while another showed them sitting down and dancing adorably. 

Apart from dance challenges, Taeyong also mentioned during the live session his desire to receive a song from Woozi tailored to his style. To which the SEVENTEEN producer agreed, promising he’ll create something cool for his hyung. 

Now that they’ve kept their promise of doing a TikTok dance challenge, fans are eagerly anticipating a music collaboration between the two. Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that their musical collaborations and interactions will continue to be a source of joy and inspiration for many of their fans.

Wonbin Dishes on Favorite RIIZE Member and Other K-Pop Group Biases

There is little doubt that RIIZE has been making waves in the K-pop industry as one of the fifth-generation boy groups under SM Entertainment. Still, they all started out as fans who had biases in other idol groups. But which K-pop stars do Wonbin look up to? The idol dished on his favorite members and even revealed which member of RIIZE he admires!

In a recent video call event, a fan decided to inquire about Wonbin’s biases from other boy groups, including those outside the SM Entertainment umbrella. When asked about his favorite member from NCT Dream, Wonbin promptly responded with Mark‘s name. Continuing the inquiry, the fan wondered about members from NCT’s other subunits, NCT 127 and WayV. Wonbin revealed that Taeyong and Xiaojun were his favorites from these respective groups.

The fan then expanded the scope to non-SM Entertainment idols, beginning with the Pledis Entertainment group SEVENTEEN. To this, Wonbin expressed his fondness for Hoshi. Transitioning to TXT, he indicated Yeonjun as his favorite member.

Lastly, the fan asked Wonbin to name his favorite member from his own group. In good spirits, Wonbin humorously declared Sohee as his favorite RIIZE member within their own group. Still, fans believe that he gets along well with Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Seunghan, and Anton.

Wonbin’s responses shed light on his passion for K-Pop, revealing his appreciation for members from various idol groups and confirming that he has his biases just like everybody else. With his evident enthusiasm for the genre, fans can hope to see him collaborating with some of his favorite artists in the future.

RIIZE officially debuted with the single album ‘Get a Guitar’ in September. They are currently preparing for their first comeback with the single “Talk Saxy” on October 27, 2023.

SEVENTEEN to Appear in Na PD’s ‘Waggle Waggle’

CARATs are in for a treat as K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN is collaborating anew with  Na Young Seok, aka Na PD, for the upcoming variety show Waggle Waggle. 

On Wednesday, October 25, a teaser for the episode was released. In the video, SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo is seen inviting the rest of the members to have a one-on-one drinking session with him.

As seen in the exchanges, members DK, Minghao, and Woozi rejected the offer, while Vernon didn’t pick up his call. But Seungkwan, one of the members who is active in variety shows, was quick to point out that Wonwoo is inviting them because he’s filming a show. 

“I need to contact a few people on a regular basis,” the rapper noted. 

Prior to the teaser, Na PD has first revealed that he filmed a new variety show with SEVENTEEN through a YouTube live.

During the live session, it was disclosed that he had dinner with the group and exchanged stories while drinking beer. At one point, he even hinted that fans should anticipate a face-off between members Seungkwan and Hoshi in Waggle Waggle. 

To the fans’ delight, Na PD also assured fans that leader S.coups, who’s on a break due to health concerns, appeared in Waggle Waggle. 

Other details about the show are still kept under wraps but the Waggle Waggle episode featuring SEVENTEEN is set to premiere on Saturday, October 28. 

‘Waggle Waggle’ and more: SEVENTEEN x Na PD’s collab

Following the news, K-pop fans and entertainment show enthusiasts can’t help but be excited as both SEVENTEEN and Na PD are known for their variety chops.

For instance, the K-pop group’s own web series Going Seventeen has gained a fandom of its own. Meanwhile, Na PD is already a known figure in South Korean entertainment. Notably, he’s the one behind successful variety programs such as 2 Days & 1 Night, Grandpas Over Flowers, New Journey to the West, and Three Meals a Day.  

Moreover, this marks another collaboration between SEVENTEEN and Na PD for 2023 alone. A proof that the two parties have formed a tight bond. 

In early 2023, SEVENTEEN appeared in Na PD’s Youtube series The Game Caterers 2. There, the group luckily won two wishes. One of which is making Na PD do a dance challenge for “Super” while the other is starring in their Youth Over Flowers own episode. 

In September, the group was confirmed to have filmed for the series in Europe. For those unfamiliar, Youth Over Flowers is a travel variety show wherein the staff tricked the cast members into spontaneous trips. 

As of writing, Na PD has yet to announce a release date for SEVENTEEN’s Youth Over Flowers.

Seventeen’s Mingyu to Take Temporary Break Due to Health Concerns

Mingyu of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN won’t be participating in promotional activities for their album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN in the coming days due to health concerns.

On Thursday, October 26, PLEDIS Entertainment released a statement about the rapper’s health condition. 

According to the agency, Mingyu experienced a “sudden, crippling lower back pain that warranted medical treatment.” After his medical examination, the healthcare staff advised the idol to “take time off and have his recovery process monitored.”

Moreover, PLEDIS Entertainment continued that the artist expressed his desire to still push through with the scheduled activities. However, to accommodate his recovery, the company has decided to exercise flexibility in the idol’s participation throughout the promotion period.

With this, the agency announced that Mingyu will be missing out the music shows and fansign events set for this week. Notably, PLEDIS Entertainment assured fans that they will provide updates on when the artist will return to his activities. 

“We will do our best to aid Mingyu in his recovery so that he may return in full health to his fans as soon as possible,” they added. 

Mingyu and S.coups sit out promotions for ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’ 

Following the news, Mingyu took to Weverse to apologize to the SEVENTEEN members. 

But the rest of the group were quick to admonish the need for an apology, emphasizing that they should focus on taking care of themselves first. 

Even S.coups, who’s also sitting out the promotional activities for the group’s 11th mini-album, left a comment. “Let’s not get sick, health come first,” he wrote. 

To note, the SEVENTEEN leader sustained a tear in his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) resulting in him needing surgery. As he’s currently focusing on rehabilitation and treatment, PLEDIS Entertainment has earlier announced that he won’t be active for group promotions this time around. 

On October 23, SEVENTEEN released the album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, which carries the title track “God of Music.” Interestingly, the album has set several records for the K-pop group already.

Now, it seems there is a new addition to this list, and it hails from the popular group SEVENTEEN.

SEVENTEEN’s Latest Hit ‘Banned’ During CSAT Exam Season

SEVENTEEN has consistently released incredibly catchy songs over the years, and their recent track, “God of Music” from the album ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN’ is no exception. Despite its release during autumn, it has garnered attention for bringing back a summery vibe.

In a recent episode of “Salon Drip”, Hoshi began discussing the various perks and features at HYBE, such as the impressive standards for ramen at the company. Host Jang Do Yeon asked about the elevators in their office, specifically mentioning the existence of an artist-exclusive elevator.

Hoshi explained that HYBE has just one elevator designated for artists, even though the company houses numerous renowned stars. This often results in a bit of a wait, given the demand.

The SEVENTEEN member delved further into the layout of the building, sharing that there is a separate floor dedicated to artist parking. When artists reach the elevator, it only stops at certain floors, including the artist lounge and recording areas. Due to the limited options and the sheer number of idols using the elevator, it can sometimes mean a substantial wait to get to the main parking area.

Hoshi humorously recounted an unexpected encounter he had due to these elevator logistics. On one occasion, while waiting for the elevator, the doors opened to reveal the members of NewJeans inside. Despite Hoshi’s confident reputation, he described himself as an “introvert” and admitted to feeling quite shy in this situation. Even when the NewJeans members reassured him that it was alright, he decided to wait rather than joining them in the elevator.
